In this video, Steve opens his studio painting practices where he does just this, showing you how he paints from start to finish, guiding you through the steps to complete a watermedia painting using acrylic, watercolor and gouache.

Could you direct me to a Value color wheel either vertical or circular on line? I am getting into Pastel Painting, and I hear more about Values vs. Complements and vice versa.
And away they go applying color in abstract fashion, Green skies, and Orange Oceans washing up onto a Blue Beach...and I have no clue where they get their inspiration whether Value based or Theory based when they apply a bright red to the canvas...Why not Yellow or Blue? I guess the best word to explain their color application at this juncture is HELTERSKELTER painting. Am I too concerned about how I paint? Should I follow color theory, or just go with the flow? Is there a right or wrong RED in color application? Or does it really MADDER? Ha Ha! Help!

Sorry, but water color can be as espressive strong and powerful as any other media. It's all about using color.
