Rome night walk from Via Prenestina to Piazza di Porta Maggiore | Outside Walker

🇮🇹 Ciao! È così buio che avremmo dovuto dormire già da tempo, ma questo non ci impedisce di vedere Roma di notte. Ci incontriamo alla "Via Prenestina" e aspettiamo in cima per il nostro semaforo e camminiamo attraverso il "Piazzale Prenestino" sulla "vIA l'Aquila". Dopo pochi metri, arriviamo a Piazza del Pigneto e giriamo in Via del Pigneto. Una volta qui, ci rendiamo conto che abbiamo preso una deviazione per tornare sulla via Prenestina. Infine, raggiungiamo la nostra destinazione "Piazza di Porta Maggiore" attraverso "Piazzale Labicano".
🇬🇧 Ciao! It is so dark that we should have been asleep long ago, but that doesn't stop us from looking at Rome at night. We meet at the "Via Prenestina" and wait at the top for our traffic light and go over the "Piazzale Prenestino" on the "vIA l'Aquila". After a few meters we arrive at the "Piazza del Pigneto" and we turn into the "Via del Pigneto". Once here, we find that we have taken a detour to get back to "Via Prenestina". Finally, we reach our destination "Piazza di Porta Maggiore" via "Piazzale Labicano".

I LOVE this walk because Prenestina is a street (road) I have often walked myself. It is not beautiful Rome but it is fascinating all the same, it has a kind of urban dystopia about it, with its viaduct, messy graffiti, ugly high-rises, and tramway rails. I often feel I'm in some end - of - civilisation video game when I walk there. Such a wonderful contrast with the "usual" landmarks. 💘💘💘

@@onafetsonitnerros Yes. Accatone! And also Trullo and Pietralata. Amazing places, and still very off the beaten tourist track.
Suggestion: a walk in Trullo to Via di Monte Cucco and the field where Uccellini and Uccellaci was filmed. And the rest of Trullo with all the murals.
