MKX intro dialogues were actually setting up a fight while in MK 11 50% of them is just characters complementing each other before murdering for no reason. Also MK11 has super dry variations and gameplay. You can't be creative with combos.

You forgot “FINISH HIM!” dizzy poses in MKX and in MK11 . In MKX they’re different and unique for every character . In MK11 they done by same style for every character

When I *used to* play Towers of Time and I encounter a character like Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana or Jade who has a revenant skin equipped, I always skip the intro dialogue since the revenant versions have no unique dialogue

It feel like every game gets somewhat of a downgrade like mk9 had tag team and dope skins then mkx took out tag team, but atleast the fighting was much butter more fast paste and more room for creative combos, and for mk 11 the story is very intriguing as for the gameplay and combos it was a massive downgrade
I feel like the combos being a downgrade was the deciding fate of this game! They lack creativity. Like Kitana my main is Kitana and you don’t understand how pained I was when I seen her combo potential in the game compared to MKX. Not to say they can’t make improvements but it’s so late in the games life span that I really don’t know if customers would comeback to this game.

Like I would be happy if amplified fan toss worked like ex fan toss in MK9 where she was able to cancel it and it wouldn’t be to over powered because there’s only two bar of offensive meter instead of three. And the most prominent change I would like to see is her 21434 string being able to cancel into her amplified air fan toss it would be so awesome!

I prefer MKX and one of the big reasons is the fact the game actually still has some of that dark, scary atmosphere from MK2, UMK3, MK4, Deadly Alliance and Deception. MK11 looked like a cartoon most of the time and most of the characters outfits were pretty lacking. Same goes for the music. The story modes in both games are pretty terrible but Shinnok & Quan Chi are way better villains than Kronika and her time travel nonsense. My biggest gripe with MKX are the new characters are downright terrible besides Erron Black. They should of just brought back some of the 3D era characters like Reiko, Havik, Hotaru, Ashrah and Nitara along with some classic fan favourites like Kabal, Baraka, Noob, Smoke and Sindel. Both games are guilty of guest characters but it's so horribly obnoxious in MK11, like I'm fighting a stupid guest character like Terminator, Joker or Rambo in a goofy looking arcade room? Or fighting Geras dressed as Darkseid in a boring looking urban alleyway. At least MKX still actually feels like Mortal Kombat and has that dark, creepy identity to it.
MKX had that super dark and scary and gritty vibe, absolutely insane and fun combos, better character design. I don't like MK11 for the reasons you listed and I am not looking forward to MK1 either. I wish they could make another MK thats evem darker than MKX lol.
I'll have to respectfully disagree that MK11 is a better game than MKX. 90% of things I liked better MKX better. And the most important thing I LOVED in MKX which I don't in MK11 is gameplay. MKX was one of the most fun fighting games. MK11 is boring and took out fun things that were in MKX. I dropped MK11 three times, really trying to like it but being unable to, while I still play MKX.

For me, a horror movie fan, the MKX guest chars are better than the ones in MK11. Jason, Letherface, Predator and Alien are the best guest chars in a fighting game.

MKX is generally more fun to play than MK11, and I thank you so much for acknowledging how nonsensical and bland some of the mk11 variations are! It sometimes feels like the characters aren't complete when playing mk11, and I hate that feeling.
The thing is that in mkx the was a graphic distinction for each variation, that's what helped variations stand up. In mk11 the character looks the same regardless of the variation. And don't get me started on the 10+ skins which are just different color palettes in mk11.

Agreed.... especially for Subzero. But MKX had the Marvel vs Capcom/Tekken problem of the long ass combos that nearly take out alll your health. More combos are fine, just shorten the damn length.
I liked MKX but it felt more like Killer Instinct. That being said I don't understand why MK11 has a system of moves you can mix and match but only can use the system in Kasual.
I feel like MKX’s models have more visible damage after battles You can see sweat, blood and more at the end of a battle. In rainy or wet environments, your character gets wet from the environment, and blood splatter pops out more in the environments of MKX
I appreciated Neatherrealm Studios for making their games. Although, if there is something I have to complain about, it would be Evil Sindel and Krypt being online feature😒. Everything else, though, I like a lot😊
To be honest, I liked the overall story of MKX better than MK11, simply because it was easier to understand and felt a bit more grounded and more MK like, and didn't care for all that Kronika stuff.
I'll tell you this.... The Sub-Zero in MKX was a total different beast meaning gameplay/dialogue. Sub-Zero sounded so intimidating in mkx not just his voice but what he was saying. His fatalities and brutalities were so much more powerful. The only entrance in mk11 that I think is badass for Sub-Zero in mk11 is the one where hes holding the bones of some dude.
MK11 is the worst MK game in history! It's called "Injustice Kombat 11", not MK. The reasons: - Zoning, spamming projectiles. - Fatal Blow and Krushing Blow with no skill - No crazy combos, no running, no armored moves. - Customization system borrow from Injustice 2. - The combo damage % with the numbers together are from Injustice 2. - Every character have the slow motion winning pose victory from Injustice 2. - No sexy female fighters. NRS made them granny diapers and gay shirtless.

In Mk11 you have towers of time and also MK11 has endless and survivor so the only difference is the lack of test your luck and might. The Towers of time are also really fun with or without augments.
To be fair about the intro dialogs, I'm not sure if its in his ending cutscene but Robocop has a story within the game of trying to apprehend Kano and getting the Special Forces to help him out. Meanwhile the outworld people are a little unwilling to help except Kitana and Jade
I feel that MKX is the superior title. Having three distinct variations for each character is much better than having a customization feature because they were all distinguished from each other very clearly in both aesthetics and movesets. The revenants look much better too due to the brighter orange veins and darker skin. Movement in X was much better too due to the running ability and I think x-rays are better than Fatal Blows as they are not as violent looking (FBs are far too violent looking anyway) and they have to be worked for, rather than be acquired by losing a lot of health. Dialogues were better too as the characters were actually moving while talking as opposed to doing introductory moves and poses before talking, during which they don't move. Costumes were better in MKX too and being limited to the revenant costumes for some characters at the start of 11 was a bit ridiculous, especially given that we can play as their human (albeit previous) versions in the story mode. Fatalities didn't include the stopping of animations in X either once they were performed, something I feel brings the viewing experience down by a notch in 11. 11 is also missing more well known characters too, which is disappointing. I just didn't get that sense of enjoyment from playing 11 if I'm honest.
Ok ill say it lol mkx is better than mk11 and mkx had NJP, better breaker system which puts both players in a neutral state, and mkx is like mk9 with a run mechanic and mk9 is amazing
Mortal kombat x has a fast gameplay and better designs and so we can have fun with it even offline but in my opinion, Mortal Kombat 11 has no traction in terms of gameplay because it is little slower, and you actually have to play online to be able to enjoy it, and we only have Classic Tower in the offline section.
I liked your points about the outfits and offline modes! Thank u for acknowledging offline players, I've always preferred offline Haha. I do think sometimes less is more and mkx kind of did better in that regard. I love mk11 skins but some of them seem overdone.

Also I don't like it when there is no real difference between old Johnny and young Johnny dialogues especially the hidden grab from mkx like you know the one where in mkx Johnny gets low on health he started to be more serious that his grabs are different
Is no one going to mention that it takes like 20 hours to get the gear piece/skin that you actually want in Mk11? The Kyrpt in mk11 is abysmal, and feels like the chests are a return of the loot boxes in Injustice 2. You never know what you are going to get at all, and it’s so annoying when you get augments, or equipables, or ugly gear pieces, or ugly skin recolors of the actual good ones, or just plain other garbage in the kyrpt that make you grind for what feels like forever. Not to mention that most of the skins and gear pieces feel like filler, including every character having like, three skins base game, but like 30 recolors of each, or how almost all of the gear in the game looks terrible. Plus, before the aftermath update, the game was VERY light on modes, and good stages. Some were cool I guess, but most were appalling to the point were I just wanted to play another Mortal Kombat game instead. Also, I personally felt that the gameplay of Mk11 wasn’t as good. I know that it was more of a “me” thing, and most people like it just as much, but the gameplay of MKX feels more fluent and fun to me personally. Sorry for the long rant, I just felt like Mk11 was super disappointing.
All three MK games (9,10, and 11) are great games and all unique with flaws; however, MKX has better character development, combos, and, like Brusk said, VARIATIONS! Characters like Skarlet should have combos that visual look impressive. Everyone know her 212,212,44, into whatever special move, but where is the creativity? That’s practically her only combo from mid screen. Bad character development effects combo potential and is even worse when you have bad/impractical moves in a variation.
HOW could you not mention the way better brutalities in MKX compared to MK11. Plus nobody online in MK11 ever performs these brutalities since they are harder to pull off and you kinda have to pay for them.

Tbh I feel like NRS were very lazy in the things that made mkx great and focused on a bunch of other shit that people don't care much about. another thing. mkx had completely different designs per skin. mk11 skins are just recolors with no flexibility. you see this a lot with noob, sub zero, shao khan, and frost.
You know speaking of Shao khan, He looks short in this Game, He looks the Same height as Jax in this game. In Mk9 He's Intimidating an evil Conquer and is Taller than a Human.
The only sub-story I got from MK11 was mostly just the aftermath characters and ultimate stuff. Like Mileena, Skarlet and Rain's dialogue off the top of my head, or Mileena mentioning wanting Jaqui cloned. Don't remember much else, but I get what you mean. I liked the comic references and subplots in the dialogue.
I think if they removed slot limits on certain moves it could really spice kombat up. Example: Sub Zero's Ground Ice and Artic Trap take up two slots. If both could be used together along with cold shoulder, you can make an MK3 Variation.
With the whole "skins and gear" selections, that in my take is the flaw as to why when we see certain dialogue between characters not really matching the skin. Probably was unable to actually script in such things like unique skin dialogues unlike in MKX to make way for what I believe is an awful option of skin selection like it was in Injustice 2.
There were far more combo paths in MKX than in MK11. You could be very creative with your combos because of this while in MK11 you have so few combo paths for most characters with only a few exceptions

And just by looking at it mkx combos is way more fast executed and feels more fluid than mk11's combos. Heck I feel that mkx is perfect for making us chaining the movesets all together without stopping while in MK11 it is slow as hell

Aesthetically MKX looked way better. For example, Sub-Zero's slide and ice ball animation, Raiden's teleport and his sparks/lighting in general looked better than in MK11, Kung Lao's specials, Kitana's specials. But we all know that some people prefer animations from MKX and some people prefer different animations so it doesnt really matter. Also, I think that there were many specials in MKX that felt "hard hitting" or that you could feel the weight and power behind them, because in MK11 almost every combo feels clunky.
I just want the Krypt to be offline again. I just hate the fact how I grind gold while using my hotspot then turn it on to use the krypt every few months and to receive jack shit. The process would be so much faster if it was offline. I could get like 10 skins at least within the span of 4 hours
MKX for me. Its not even a debate in my book. The Character roster/outfits in MKX is why I like it so much . But I don't hate MK11, quite the opposite actually. I really enjoyed it. I mean, most MK fans like them all, warts and everything! (Except maybe MKA lol) Great vid btw!!👍
I miss the combo break from mk9/mkx and the roster from mk9. I'd give all guest characters from mk11 in exchange for mk9's smoke, sektor, cyrax, reptile and ermac. And about the intros, I think all of them are bs. I'd like to have an option to turn it off and start all matches straight away.
In Kitana's variation Highborn, she has a special move called "Edinian Razors". I have no idea why that's in there when that variation is supposed to be a Mileena variation. I'd rather have Edinian Twist than Edinian Razors,

Mkx is darker and creepy. That's the real mk atmosphere. Mkx aesthetic and atmosphere + mk11 roster and stages = Flawless Victory

I feel like mk11 is a lot more smooth than mkx, but I hope in mk12 we get a mix between the two with mk11's smoothness but with mkx combo potential.
Hopefully, a mix between the two MKX's gameplay/combo potential and MK9's smoothness for MK12, not trash MK11.

The thing is that in mkx the was a graphic distinction for each variation, that's what helped variations stand up. In mk11 the character looks the same regardless of the variation. And don't get me started on the 10+ skins which are just different color palettes in mk11.

you can tell they were lazy with the intro dialogue part based on the fact they did a different voice for sub zero in his dimitri skin.
Plus in MKX, they have more Interactables in the stages which was awesome. But now we get only a maximum of four interactable in MK11 which sucks.
Tbh, I’m not a huge fan of interactables.
Going forward, I just wish they get rid of variations and put more characters on the roster.

I liked MKX but it felt more like Killer Instinct. That being said I don't understand why MK11 has a system of moves you can mix and match but only can use the system in Kasual.

To be honest, I liked the overall story of MKX better than MK11, simply because it was easier to understand and felt a bit more grounded and more MK like, and didn't care for all that Kronika stuff.
I'll tell you this.... The Sub-Zero in MKX was a total different beast meaning gameplay/dialogue. Sub-Zero sounded so intimidating in mkx not just his voice but what he was saying. His fatalities and brutalities were so much more powerful. The only entrance in mk11 that I think is badass for Sub-Zero in mk11 is the one where hes holding the bones of some dude.
MK11 is the worst MK game in history! It's called "Injustice Kombat 11", not MK. The reasons:
- Zoning, spamming projectiles.
- Fatal Blow and Krushing Blow with no skill
- No crazy combos, no running, no armored moves.
- Customization system borrow from Injustice 2.
- The combo damage % with the numbers together are from Injustice 2.
- Every character have the slow motion winning pose victory from Injustice 2.
- No sexy female fighters. NRS made them granny diapers and gay shirtless.

In Mk11 you have towers of time and also MK11 has endless and survivor so the only difference is the lack of test your luck and might. The Towers of time are also really fun with or without augments.
To be fair about the intro dialogs, I'm not sure if its in his ending cutscene but Robocop has a story within the game of trying to apprehend Kano and getting the Special Forces to help him out. Meanwhile the outworld people are a little unwilling to help except Kitana and Jade

I feel that MKX is the superior title. Having three distinct variations for each character is much better than having a customization feature because they were all distinguished from each other very clearly in both aesthetics and movesets. The revenants look much better too due to the brighter orange veins and darker skin. Movement in X was much better too due to the running ability and I think x-rays are better than Fatal Blows as they are not as violent looking (FBs are far too violent looking anyway) and they have to be worked for, rather than be acquired by losing a lot of health. Dialogues were better too as the characters were actually moving while talking as opposed to doing introductory moves and poses before talking, during which they don't move. Costumes were better in MKX too and being limited to the revenant costumes for some characters at the start of 11 was a bit ridiculous, especially given that we can play as their human (albeit previous) versions in the story mode. Fatalities didn't include the stopping of animations in X either once they were performed, something I feel brings the viewing experience down by a notch in 11. 11 is also missing more well known characters too, which is disappointing. I just didn't get that sense of enjoyment from playing 11 if I'm honest.

Mortal kombat x has a fast gameplay and better designs and so we can have fun with it even offline but in my opinion, Mortal Kombat 11 has no traction in terms of gameplay because it is little slower, and you actually have to play online to be able to enjoy it, and we only have Classic Tower in the offline section.
Kollector’s third variation is for straight up dame te, his second variation for damage over time, and his first variation is his best variation

Is no one going to mention that it takes like 20 hours to get the gear piece/skin that you actually want in Mk11? The Kyrpt in mk11 is abysmal, and feels like the chests are a return of the loot boxes in Injustice 2. You never know what you are going to get at all, and it’s so annoying when you get augments, or equipables, or ugly gear pieces, or ugly skin recolors of the actual good ones, or just plain other garbage in the kyrpt that make you grind for what feels like forever. Not to mention that most of the skins and gear pieces feel like filler, including every character having like, three skins base game, but like 30 recolors of each, or how almost all of the gear in the game looks terrible. Plus, before the aftermath update, the game was VERY light on modes, and good stages. Some were cool I guess, but most were appalling to the point were I just wanted to play another Mortal Kombat game instead. Also, I personally felt that the gameplay of Mk11 wasn’t as good. I know that it was more of a “me” thing, and most people like it just as much, but the gameplay of MKX feels more fluent and fun to me personally. Sorry for the long rant, I just felt like Mk11 was super disappointing.

All three MK games (9,10, and 11) are great games and all unique with flaws; however, MKX has better character development, combos, and, like Brusk said, VARIATIONS! Characters like Skarlet should have combos that visual look impressive. Everyone know her 212,212,44, into whatever special move, but where is the creativity? That’s practically her only combo from mid screen.
Bad character development effects combo potential and is even worse when you have bad/impractical moves in a variation.
HOW could you not mention the way better brutalities in MKX compared to MK11. Plus nobody online in MK11 ever performs these brutalities since they are harder to pull off and you kinda have to pay for them.

another thing. mkx had completely different designs per skin. mk11 skins are just recolors with no flexibility. you see this a lot with noob, sub zero, shao khan, and frost.
You know speaking of Shao khan, He looks short in this Game, He looks the Same height as Jax in this game. In Mk9 He's Intimidating an evil Conquer and is Taller than a Human.
The only sub-story I got from MK11 was mostly just the aftermath characters and ultimate stuff. Like Mileena, Skarlet and Rain's dialogue off the top of my head, or Mileena mentioning wanting Jaqui cloned. Don't remember much else, but I get what you mean. I liked the comic references and subplots in the dialogue.
I think if they removed slot limits on certain moves it could really spice kombat up. Example: Sub Zero's Ground Ice and Artic Trap take up two slots. If both could be used together along with cold shoulder, you can make an MK3 Variation.

With the whole "skins and gear" selections, that in my take is the flaw as to why when we see certain dialogue between characters not really matching the skin. Probably was unable to actually script in such things like unique skin dialogues unlike in MKX to make way for what I believe is an awful option of skin selection like it was in Injustice 2.
There were far more combo paths in MKX than in MK11. You could be very creative with your combos because of this while in MK11 you have so few combo paths for most characters with only a few exceptions

@@jackotsc9958 Well, their specialty is fighting game mechanics. Acting and writing is kind of a secondary concern for them.
Aesthetically MKX looked way better. For example, Sub-Zero's slide and ice ball animation, Raiden's teleport and his sparks/lighting in general looked better than in MK11, Kung Lao's specials, Kitana's specials. But we all know that some people prefer animations from MKX and some people prefer different animations so it doesnt really matter. Also, I think that there were many specials in MKX that felt "hard hitting" or that you could feel the weight and power behind them, because in MK11 almost every combo feels clunky.
I just want the Krypt to be offline again. I just hate the fact how I grind gold while using my hotspot then turn it on to use the krypt every few months and to receive jack shit. The process would be so much faster if it was offline. I could get like 10 skins at least within the span of 4 hours
MKX for me. Its not even a debate in my book. The Character roster/outfits in MKX is why I like it so much . But I don't hate MK11, quite the opposite actually. I really enjoyed it. I mean, most MK fans like them all, warts and everything!
