If you have an OMNY card you can just tap the reader and bypass touching the screen to start.

Have you tried tapping the card to the reader without the even clicking on refill? Many systems thats how it works

@bostonelevatorsaviation Yes, I've tried that 1st and hoping that it would. I know other cities card vending machines let you do that to check balance. But the nyc omny machines won't let you do that. You have to touch the screen 1st.
