I remember being five watching cartoons on the couch. I don't remember last New Year's eve. I don't remember my father's voice. I can't picture his face. The details escape me. I remember the cold war, lying in bed, praying the world wouldn't end. I remember where I was when John Lennon was murdered I was ten and I didn't know who he was. The details escape me, like the colour of your shirt, or how you wore your hair. I can't recall the last time I went to the cinema or what I saw. The details escape me.
