Oh my goodness! Congratulations. I got married in Denmark in City Hall in September. Also used Getting Married in Denmark. By way of background I live in Australia and my husband lives in UK (although he’s American like you). We were physically separated due to the pandemic and needed to get married so I could get my UK visa. I googled easiest place to get married in Europe and Denmark came up. I’ve been watching you guys the whole pandemic as I’ve taken an interest in the Nordics. Watching your channel made going to Denmark for the ceremony easier as you guys have really educated me on Danish culture. I was always wondering if you two would tie the knot! Also did a bit of sightseeing and loved everything especially a bike tour of the city and Frederiksborg and Kronborg Castles. Thanks for the inspiration and we actually beat you to it :)
We were so excited for both of you when we saw the marriage posting on IG awhile back. Heartfelt congratulations! We are celebrating our 40th anniversary of meeting on 25 November, and 15 years of “legal” marriage next June. Like you, we also went to our local city hall with our best friends and family for a brief but meaningful ceremony, and had a nice champagne brunch afterward. We are so happy for both of you and hope to raise a glass to your continued happiness this coming summer in Copenhagen. Jubel! 🍾 🥂

I was waiting for you guys to post about your experience after I saw your TikTok video about it 😊 I too (a fellow American) went through the paperwork back in October and I was so nervous about them denying my application since my situation was a little different. (I’m marrying a Dane) all I saw were bad reviews of Familieretshuset with processing times and approval. Luckily it took 5 days and now we are set to marry in Aarhus’ town hall 🥰. Again, congratulations to you two and I look forward to continue following your story and videos of your life in Denmark ❤️
Familieretshuset is the agency that handles and enforces divorces and custody battles, plus (maybe) denial of marriage permits. So generally, they are the bogey man and get corresponding bad reviews.

Congratulations! Tillykke! Looks and sounds like a beautiful day. We did the opposite and got married in the US for a simple wedding in Las Vegas and then had the big ceremony in Denmark on our one year anniversary. I still love our small, simple and fun wedding more than the big fancy wedding.

Regarding rings it is interesting that even though many will wear their wedding rings, the use is much more casual here. People might also not pick up on your status (wearing the ring), since many are not married, many wears for fashion and some don't wear it. I have had a Polish friends being very frustrating that flashing her ring had no effect on clueless guys 😅

I had never heard about "The Las Vegas of Europe" until this summer. I have a friend from Greece whom I befriended when he was an exchange student in Denmark. We hadn't seen each other in years but suddenly he contacted me as he was getting married in Denmark and I was like "Why? You always complained about the weather here". Then he told me that his to-be-wife was from Portugal and as they were currently both working in Germany , the amount of bureaucratic paperwork that they had to go through would be enormous if they wanted to get married, as they had to contact Greece, Germany and Portugal at the same time. Therefore they were recommended to go to Copenhagen as it kinda "forced" the bureaucratic systems of the three countries to acknowledge the marriage faster. It was actually a giant eye-opener for me as Alexandros and I have been talking about how insanely bureaucratic other countries in Europe still are, but I haven't really felt it before, but this is a really gigantic difference between DK and other countries. We really don't like paperwork here it seems. Once again giant congrats on your marriage
