It was relatively inexpensive and it was a friends machine. He bought the auger. The old one was pretty tweaked when I pulled it out. It probably would have been ok but if you saw the steel that Cub uses now you’d understand. It’s definitely not the Cub Cadet of yesteryear.
@yasiralgburi3341 so there it sounds like that spring might be in the wrong place forcing pressure to the pulley engaging the belt. Silly question, are you anywhere near central Wisconsin? I could take a look at it for you.
I don’t believe you grease these newer Cub Cadets. My older snowblowers have had grease zerks but the newer ones have not. They weren’t greased from the factory but it’s not a bad idea.
@@pilgrimsgarage I know that a lot of the times that the factory doesn't grease these shafts, that is why I do it. I'm being pro active because if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. I put anti seize on everything. Hell, when ever I run out of toothpaste, I use anti seize. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✌🏿
Probably in this case but my friend had already bought the auger. It’s pretty thin steel so it’s quite malleable. Be sure you use shear pins in it though.
When replacing the belt you might want to look at the pulleys. Cub Cadet isn’t as good as it used to be but you should get more than 4 times out of the belt.
Rockin' that Matt's Off Road Recovery gear I see! Thanks for the video. Start to finish, good stuff.
I met Matt a couple years ago. I bought the hoodie when I was there. He’s a pretty decent guy. Thank you for the compliment.
That would be a great time to remove the auger bits and give that shaft a good coat of grease because cub cadet does not have grease zerks to do that.
Now we need some snow.
No doubt. We have nothing here in central Wisconsin
Very useful 😊 thank you
Thank you. It’s an easy process.
Why replace rather than heat up and bend back? Granted it wouldnt be perfect but less expensive and time consuming.

Does anyone happen to know the gearbox lube type for a 3 stage? I had to replace a leaking gearbox seal but I can't find the lube spec anywhere.
I believe it should be regular gear lube. That what I have used in the past.
I have same the auged keep spinning i did replace belt nothing change
Are the shear pins broken or are they intact? The belt should drive the augers.
Thank you for replying, Everything works fine, parts have been replaced and still when engine working the auger keeps running by itself

@@pilgrimsgarage idid replace spring, I’m from buffalo NY
Ah crap…that’s a little bit of a ride.
I'm a little surprised that you didn't grease the auger shaft or use any anti seize on this shaft while you had the thing apart. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️

Could you not just bend that back straight?

My belt shredded on the 4th time using it. Very disappointed.
