A thing to keep in mind this was one of the first shows back after the Covid shutdown. They had a lot of restrictions on number of people on set.

The bible has famously done this with its sequel to my people's book...they call it the "New Testament"...but in it they bring back Jesus for like a cameo before he goes off to some spin off called "Heaven"...its wild!

War is the envelope that multiple battles take place within. "Going to war" means to fight a battle. "The battle of Mos Espa" could be part of the Syndicate War, just like Fennec taking out the Syndicate leaders in Mos Eisley was another part of the larger conflict. As was Boba's attack on the swoop bike gang, the Pykes assault on the Sand People and the Sand People attacking the land train.
Episode concept: Din and Grogu find a book of Mandalorian history when they go to visit the planet. Din reads Grogu the chapter about Tarre Vizsla to put him to sleep and the whole episode is a bedtime story about the first Mandalorian Jedi. Grogu has a dream about having a jetpack.
Q&A: Seeing Episode 5 focus so much on how Din obtains his new ship got me thinking, how will Obi-Wan leave Tatooine in his show? Does he still have the Soulless One (Grievous’ ship)? Will he used public transport?
I feel like one of Dave filoni's major weaknesses as a writer (and he has his strengths too I'm not saying he doesn't) is that he's so often so non-committal with his deaths.
Totally agree, but that this wasn’t something he used to do. Before The Clone Wars TV show was cancelled, there were many planned deaths. Assajj Ventress died (even though only in a book inspired by the original unfinished episodes), Bane was going to die, Talzin died (also in unfinished episodes that got made into a comic). Also in TCW, many characters he created died, such as Savage, the named clones, and others. It’s strange that he stopped committing to deaths
I am actually very OK that Cad Bane is dead. I mean I love his character but I think it’s a pretty respectable way to kill off his character. Boba Fett is an original Star Wars character that has been around for 42 years and all the original fans know and love him and I think that’s a pretty respectable way to kill Cad Bane off. I mean let’s pretend that before this series ever aired and you were doing like a Star Wars survey for their creative team from someone at Lucasfilm. And they got to a multiple choice question about the end days of Cad Bane, and they just wanted to see your opinion on how would you like to see this characters story end and they gave you a multiple choice like :
A) He died in prison
B) he was killed bounty hunting by someone we don’t know
C) Luke Skywalker kills him
D) He dies in a fight with Boba Fett
…. I think all of us would think we would pick D. Now that doesn’t mean they can’t bring him back and telling stories that happened before the events of this series though. I think we live in a time now we’re just because you kill a character off doesn’t mean you can’t tell a story that takes place before that Point in time where that character is still alive. But I think it’s a respectable way to end his story and on top of that we have to remember that he was in his prime during the clone wars he’s an old character by this point. I mean it makes sense for Boba to be there because he was a little kid during that time but look at how many other characters had died off by the events of this series so I think it’s a good time for his character to meet his end because if he shows up later on during the events of the sequel trilogy OK now that would be kind of pushing it I think.
I like the way he died in that it was with Boa Fett. I just wanted more setup for it. If they had the two Mando/Luke episodes in Mandalorian Season 3 then they would have had more setup for them in this like some backstory on Cad Bane for other viewers, maybe one or two other encounters and a chance for Cad Bane to do something for the Pykes.
Same with the Rancor and some other stuff but it felt a bit anti-climactic.

On second viewing of the finale, I think I can appreciate the series for what it is. It's just a fun look into what Boba's up to in a post-ROTJ era. That's it, nothing more. Doesn't go very deep, and doesn't really need to. My first reaction after finishing Chapter 7 was, "So that's it?". And now, it's more like, "Nice! Ok, now let's get back to Mando lol."

he got himself killed of like a joke in Return of the jedi. of course you will rethink all your life decisions how you get in that situation when a beast is slowly digesting you for thousands of years. every one will it will turn your life around. also when i watched the clone wars it didn't felt strange Boba had a certain feeling of being part of a clan. he is a clone of jango fett and for me it made sense he discovered the value of a clan/family for himself. that was very important for the rest of the clones as well
@@johnniewaiker6203 Absolutely. His father was pretty alienating and wasn’t associated really with any other Mandalorians to the point where he wasn’t even considered one anymore. Boba never really had a family or a clan, just a guy trying to teach him how to be the greatest killer around. He finally learned the importance of having family with the Tuskens and then in Mos Espa

I think the blinking light wasn't an indication of life, but instead, a contigency plan in the event of his death. Something is going to happen in the future because of Cad Bane's death.
I am left to imagine that although it's main purpose is resistance to force choke, the breathing apparatus can keep him from getting brain damage long enough for Todo to get him to a bacta tank and/or artificial heart and lungs.
I think he has more cybernetics than people realise.

Q&A: Don't you think LucasFilms should have saved the "What did Grogu actually choose either the Armor or the Lightsaber reveal" in The Mandalorian Season 3 instead of Luke told R2-D2 to drop off Grogu at Tatooine in the middle of the war of the Pykes Syndicate in bad timing? I would technically picture that Din came back to the Planet after the War ended and he would have react to Luke had said about Grogu chooses the Armor and Din would have ask about the Darkside and the Attachments from what Ahsoka had told him earlier.
I was expecting it would be shown in the first episode of Mando season 3, was very surprised for it to happen off screen
I don’t think R2 was in the Naboo star fighter. I looked at it as grogu’s empire strikes back moment where Luke leaves dagaba and yoda to save his friends.
Frankly both episode 5 and 6 would have been better in Mandalorian season 3. Keeping Din getting his new ship would have been fine for this show but everything else just took away from Boba's story.
@@brokenwrench404 I never said Grogu was in Din's new N1 Starfighter. We already did saw R2-D2 was in Luke's X-Wing Starfighter when he was dropping off Grogu.
While I wished they waited until season 3 to reunite Din and Grogu, I can't say I was too disappointed. It was a very touching scene. But even though it was only a couple of episodes with them apart from each other, it's actually been 14 months since we've seen them together. They parted ways in December 2020 and it's February 2022.
Crime Lord and Daimyo aren't synonymous. In Japanese history, daimyo ("big /great name") where more landed nobles responsible for the upkeep, production and defense of their province. They were part governors and warlord, but represented a government of the province, or collection of provinces they had control over. They were in a lot of ways like a landed noble overseeing a fief in Middle Age Europe.

Q&A: Do you think that the fact that Cob Vanth survived ( and how much the audience likes his character) is it possible that he gets a major role on a show like Rangers of the New Republic? I would love that...
We see him alive in the bacta tank for the end credits scene. I don't think he'll be in his own show because his adaptation of his aftermath storyline isn't over and the rest of it is probably going to be covered in a season 2 of Book of Boba.
If Cad Bane's blaster is strong enough to dent beskar I think it makes sense that Cobb would need some serious medical attention/modification after a shoulder shot. I don't know the full healing properties of bacta but I'm sure it can't rapidly regenerate missing bits of the body, like lost limbs or holes shot through people. Also that chase scene feeling slow makes sense to me because the streets of Mos Espa look pretty tight and narrow with sharp turns and getting speed trying to escape in those conditions would be risky for your getaway vehicle and you'd probably need to be a skilled driver to do that effectively which the majordomo is not.
But it’s not strong enough because it didn’t dent it this time

In regard to extras in the fight scenes. It may not only be budget. Remember that this was filmed at the height of the Pandemic, so there were obvious restrictions on how many people could be on set. Much of it may have been filmed pre-vaccine as well.
Honestly, Tattooine is the closest thing he has to a home ever since Bad Batch got rid of his original home.. not like he could start a tribe there anymore 😂
It really is Boba second home. He started the Krafts claw out of their & worked for jab a for how many years. If those unreleased episodes are canon. The first time he put on the armor was tattooine.

I liked several things presented in The Book of Boba Fett, I think it deserves another season.
I agree completely. Guy had a life changing event and they try to show some of the nuances setting up shop. Most shows would just have him blasting Bib Fortuna and going from there. It is better to show the growth of the character rather than just Tony Soprano in Space, IMHO.

@@HaloFlashMob I hear you. Try to understand the substance behind it. Most mob movies and TV shows only touch the surface on who these killers for money are. Anyone just about is as deeply nuanced in character as Tony Soprano who was an amalgamation of many mob bosses. Thevpoint I was making was that taking over a criminal organization is a multi faceted thing and not the one off event that is usually portrayed in the movies and/or on television.
I wanna say Cobb knew who Cad was and the deputy didn't. The difference between their reactions to Cad walking up and showing his face tell me Cobb knows to be scared.

Cad Bane's beeping light reminds me of the flatline noise that Combine soldiers make in Half-Life 2.
Everybody attributes that dent coming from a duel that happened in an unfinished episode of the Clone Wars. But the helmet got dented in Episode 2: Attack of the Clones when Jango Fett got trampled by the stampeding Reek.
That was a different helmet and was destroyed during Clone Wars season 2.

I think when Boba said something along the lines of maybe this life isn’t for us and Fennec said if not us, then who.. and they panned to the mods and BK… that meant something.. idk. Also, right after that they transitioned to the mandalorian theme. I think that line was foreshadowing something

As far as why the normal citizenry didn't react and then freaked out when the fighting came to their street, I think the answer is simple: these people have heard/seen it all before. They go about their day pretending things aren't awful until the violence spills out to their little section of the town.

The spike on the tail of his staff is bent after the duel. This suggests the stab wound went completely thru to his breathing apparatus on his back. The blinking light probably indicates a malfunction….possibly sending a distress signal.
Given that Cad was shot in the head last time Boba and him dueled, he very well may have a life support system or something. I like the dramatic conclusion but it does leave the door open for more.
I do think Din Djarin is essentially what Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau envisioned Boba Fett to be before the prequels changed things. Why does he keep his helmet on in non-combat situations? Who are the Mandalorians? What does his life as a Bounty Hunter look like?
So LucasFilm set up a "Schrodinger's Cad Bane" situation where he's both alive and dead until next observed. lol
The beeping might be a defibrillator, his heart stopped, it beeps to revive him, or something along those lines
I think Boba's attachment to tatooine is tied to his rebirth there - it's like a new home to him. a new kamino. plus it has a power vacuum...

Bane is dead. His corpse is laying in the street along with who knows how many Pykes. Someone is going to clean that up.
I do not foresee them leaving Bane’s body in the street, waiting for something to come [along] and retrieve it. He is rancor food, IMHO.
Killing Bane was a highly symbolic gesture by Fett. He has “killed the boy”, matured and moved on.

I think a lot of people including myself was disappointed with the execution more than the content. If they had planned out Boba’s story better we wouldn’t be trying to do mental gymnastics trying to make sense of his storyline. I also wish they would have prolonged the reunion b/t Din and Grogu and explored their choices in S3 for better dramatic effect and emotional resonance.
With the way everything was announced I get the feeling that this was meant to be a lets have fun season so they can have more time to prep the start of there event storyline.
@@mightheal You’re probably right. It’s unfortunate that if they had broke the story better it could have been fun for all. They may have had fun playing with real life action figures but it wasn’t always fun watching them do it.

Thank you guys for keeping things real. Seems A LOT of people have decided to focus on the few negatives about the show, instead of the plentiful of positives. An interesting arc to make Boba more compassionate (although he showed plenty of it in the Clone Wars), and a glimpse in to Luke that was amazing!
If Sidious survived, if Maul survived, hell even Fennec was dead dead. If they all lived then surely Cad Bane is alive after a little stab wound. This is star wars after all.

Having Din and Grogu together meant more Baby Yoda with Subtitles.
From the beginning of the season they set up the final fight to be small in scale, which could definitely be a budget thing like Alex and Molly theorise. Remember the Pikes were taking commercial flights in order to bypass New Republic-controlled airspace.
Q&A - So if Boba's armor is Beskar like Din's, and blaster bolts either get reflected or absorbed with no damage, How did Bane give Boba the dent in the helmet?

I know I ask you this question three times already. And I promise you I wouldn’t bother you anymore. But since you are open to the idea of more questions for future videos, I would like to suggest one more time that you do a video of what could have happened to Todo 360. Either he still with Cad Bane by the time of the book of Boba Fett, or Bane destroyed him, or “my personal favorite” Omega convinced Todo to leave Cad Bane and joined her with the rest of the bad batch and became friends with AZI 3 and Gonky? Either way I can’t wait to see more of him in the future. So please think about this.
I think the armorer is a villian and is Rook kast as the Empire didn’t bomb Concordia for some odd reason which leads me to conclude that she secretly aligned with the Empire to take revenge on Bo-Katan.
I agree on bringing in new characters. However, they introduced “The Mods” and many fans really hated these four new characters. I wish that they had spent a little more time allowing the audience to learn some of the individual backstory of these characters.

Honestly the reasoning on why Boba chose to protect Tatooine is simple. Tatooine is now his new home, his days with the Tuskens were the major factor for it and he felt how he got something that resembles a family there.
