From what I can gather, that's not the case. Pakistan's civilian government is elected by the people in a democratic way based on theology and not competence. It's the lack of education and competence that is repeatedly voted into office that doesn't know how to govern. The Pakistani "common man" is totally responsible for the leaders chosen.

Britain created the dysfunctional state of Pakistan as part of an Anglo-Muslim alliance comprising of Turkey, Iran, Iraq [CENTO, SEATO, Baghdad Pact]) to counter the atheist Soviet Union and continue Britain's imperial fantasy of The Great Game (renamed as the Cold War). The Royal Grand Indus Army that owns, occupies and ru(i)ns Pakistan maintains Britain's imperial legacy and enforces British messianic ideology (foreign policy) of everlasting hostility towards Russia in Afghanistan and Indus valley for a fistful of $$$ and a few $$$ more. Read 'The Shadow of the Great Game' by Narendra Singh Sarila and 'Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire' by Alex von Tunzelmann.

There is also another factor....less to do with politics. UK knew very well that India was the heart and soul of the Greater Indian Cultural Sphere that ranges from Balochistan to Myanmar and from SL to Far-East Russia. They very well knew India was the very core of the Hindu-Jain-Buddhist-Sikh ethos that pervades the subcontinent and its neighborhood. When they left, they thought that pakistan will stay united in the name of islam, and that India will fragment (South India, NE India, Hindia (North East West Zones)). Then 1971 happened. If you see many English politicians like george galloway, "scholars" (or pseudo scholars) like william dalrymple etc, you can see that clear favorability towards pakistan. Its not Abrahamaic brotherhood certainly as they hate each other too much. And brown and white don't mix anyway. Also there is the colonial hangover. They knew India being the homeland of Hinduism Jainism Buddhism Sikhism was the real India and as a kind of continuation of their games in Indology and Indic studies they always tried to put down India and her achievements (strictly speaking as per conventional history....not going to Mahabharata or "mythological" stuff).

The military you accuse of being the root of Pakistani problems has been the savior of the Pakistani state for over 50 years through multiple civilian government collapses. If the Pakistani military didn't exist, the country would have been long gone after any of several chaotic implosions. As long as the theological leaders in Pakistan have such a grip on the poor masses that they cannot elect competent leaders, Pakistan will always have an incompetent civilian government that can't govern in a sustained way and periodically the military will have to stage a coup to regain control of the country. Once the country is restabilized, the military will again run elections where the poor will again elect new incompetents.

This Indian produced video about Pakistan missed several important issues with Pakistani society. In Pakistan's case, the problem actually isn't the rich but with the poor who are manipulated by their radical Islamic leaders to elect incompetents to run the civilian government and run the country into the ground. It's then that the Pakistani military typically does a coup and takes control of the government to restabilize the country before holding new elections and the poor again re-elect incompetents to office.
In Pakistan's case, although there is probably a lot of the wealthy protecting their own interests, running the country into the ground is hardly their fault.

If Pakistan collapses India's 70 percent of foreign problems are over and can fully focus on taking China. I just returned from Pakistan, at least in Karachi. Life is going on. Shopping centres and restaurants are packed with people. It doesn't seem countey's economy is in mess.
However, this is true they have political and economic issues but I am sure these issues will be resolved in the near future. I don't think country will go in default. They always find a way forward.

There is no way out other than begging for more loan!
People can't afford atta, onions, petrol and you are saying everything is alright? Maybe for the elites (who are on the verge of leaving the nation), but not for most of Pakistan

@Samyak H P debt crises are an international issue, most countries, particularly developed countries, are unable to pay off their debts.
USA is a prime example, having more than 30 trillion debt. They can not pay off 30 trillion in their lifetime.
The only solution is to reset currency and restart from ZERO.

I'm in Dubai right now, my company has a contract with a Travels owned by a Pakistani for our Taxi. So I get to meet a different Pakistani driver every week. I can say one thing with certainty. They all wear a very miserable outlook about life in Pakistan. Most of them are clinically depressed and have a very bleak outlook about their country, and specially the Politicians. They are all looking for a Messiah to deliver them from this situation and all of them without exception believe that Imran Khan will come to power and solve all their problems.
One constant refrain from them all - Sirji, Pakistan se ek bhi acchi khabar nahin aati hai. Har din kuch na kuch problem. Kabhi zalzala, Kabhi bumb phat tha hai, kabhi bahad ..
Granted these are not considered opinions from intellects, but these are your everyday salt of the Pakistani earth.

Pakistan's economic crisis is 10× worse than Srilanka's economic crisis, but Srilanka is doing much better now, the foreign reserves have increased tourism earnings also Increased share and stock market is doing great and Sri Lanka export earnings are also picking up, Foreign remittences also grew, the currency has also appreciated to 319, the Srilanka rupee became the best performing currency in the world this year against the US dollar, inflation has decreased to 35.3% from 50.3% which is a significant decrease, i hope the situation gets better for both countries they are both facing the worst economic crisis ever 😭
