This is the only channel that actually teaches you things the right way. I've seen hundreds of videos to change my thermostat and none of them showed you to check the pressure with the pressure tester.
This video enabled me to replace my thermostat on my 2014 Compass, and fix the overheating problem. I’m a layperson with basic tools, but this video made it possible. Saved me a significant repair bill. Thank you!!!
Agreed , I bought the new kit and forgot to index the thermostat , so I watched the tutorial very closely it was immensely helpful , I'm grateful. But beware on the Avenger the heater hoses on 2008 models are a bigger diameter , but gates do conversion hoses to allow the updated housing to fit.2009 the changes happened .
Appreciate the videos, its a good reason why im not buying another jeep anymore, too complicated to do simple work. My car doesnt quite get up to temp, so I assumed my thermostat might be bad and stuck open, and thought about replacing. This however, is something to be done on a nice weekend. Or in a shop lol.
Great video, the only thing i wouldn't have done was remove the ecu. I would have just unscrewed the top of the air filter housing and then flipped that and the ecu over to the left.
The housings are cheap and I came to find out that I keep replacing them every year because my air temperature sensore was dirty the one that is on the air intake. It was delaying my fans to activate. I replaced it and my jeep sounds very different and runs cooler now. So I will update if it helps with the housing. I have 149,000 miles on my jeep patriot so far bought brand new 2014.
Hi I'm having issues lining up the bolts after putting in new houseing any tips I've tried over and over not stripped at all fit fine with houseing off its a brand new matching housing any tips please and thank you
Makes sense 2 thermostats set in plastic when it fails the heat builds up and the heat range for that housing damages the integrity and crystalozrs and puts stress Cracks where the leak is but maybe doesn't leak constantly plastic cools faster than the metal
I keep seeing a small puddle of coolant building up on my transmission close to that housing. Replaced the housing twice and still keep getting that. Any suggestions. 2014 jeep patriot 2.0 92000 miles
Any luck finding that leak? I have a similar situation, mine is leaking up higher on the plastic intake behind some sort of cube to the left of the thermostat housing. Please let me know if you found where it’s leaking.
It is very clear not to disconnect the plugs from the CPU. First hand experience that's a $1900.00 follow mistake. You should not doing it this way for viewers.
possibly simple minded question... is this a 1/4 turn petcock or does it unscrew completely? I worry with plastic parts that I will turn them too far and break something.
I bought a thermostat housing from autozone and my problem is that the back hoses are to big for the connection.whats a suggestion on what should I do to get this solve
Your can stop at 4min, no need to disassemble anything else as long as you have a flexible extension for your socket wrench, you can get the bolts off the housing without having to take anything else off.

Is it worthy to only replace the thermostat? Not the full housing?

Buenas tardes has cambiado la caja termostatica de dodge journey 2010rt 2.7 es complicado no tenes video gracias.
Why would you need to replace the entire housing, why not just the thermostat(s)?
Good job, if fan does not work could be fuse or relay in this case?

You say the new thermostat housing may only come with one thermostat but you had a second one? I'm confused
This was fantastic! Thank you and great job!

Should I burp the coolant system after replacing the housing and thermostats?
Excelent,,Congratuleychion friend very good

That was a GREAT video !!! Thanks.
hi, when tightening the bolts, what kind of force did you use in the key. Show me the numbers please.
is there a reason why you can't just replace both t stats and re-use the housing?
My brother noticed that the container did not have any coolant or was low. Will this cause the car computer to beep.
Good video.thanks
So all the parts that were replaced were thermostat, housing, and O-ring?
Thank you!
Petonges! I love it. There's Frenchman somewhere in that boy lol.
Solo per avere una vaga idea, quanto può costare in media un intervento così in officina? Grazie a chi mi risponderà...
thank you
No more over heating Thanks
What are the torque specs?
Does it work for jeep Patriot 07
What do I do if only one fan comes on
Wont this mess with the computers memory? I mean removing the two red connectors on the module.
What the torque spec
You didn't tighten the lower intake tube clamp
Do you have to replace the whole housing when replacing the thermostat?
