I'd love to see a video all about different face powders; foundation vs setting, pressed vs loose, etc. I feel like I flip flop back and forth between pressed and loose powders and I don't fully understand how to use different kinds of powders to my full advantage. I noticed you switching between different powders and I'm interested.

Me too bc o was really interested in asking why you used the powder foundation to set? For more coverage? Also I’m confused on how to use the elf halo powder or even the hourglass ambiance powders. Will they actually nattify? I noticed you put it where you said you wanted to diminish the glow. At least I thought you did. Yes please do a powder type tutorial about pink setting powders pressed glow powders, hourglass powders, translucent, banana powder, foundation powders, setting powders, your favorite ones for blotting, under eye, setting etc

glow is far more flattering. forget trends, whats always more attractive is a natural tailored look. matching you own skin tone, but even, giving a glow that mimics healthy hydrated skin, blush that matches ur colouring, long natural lashes, balancing dark under eyes, and a your lips but better colour. this will look good no matter the decade. good skin, long lashes, slight blush, and pretty lips.
Same here. I feel like I just look sweaty lol. But the matte look is very drying and aging to skin.
@@xCindyLouWhox You don't have to be fully matte. Just a good SPF, normal foundation, light powder, and you're good. My issue is when glow turns to that wet greasy look that frankly isn't as cute as people believe. Also, your hair sticks to it.
@@prostheticballerina Yes! I feel like it looks good initially, but over time, you just look greasy lol.
Just want to say, I love that you do all your looks over sunscreen even when probably they’re just tester looks or looks for the sake of filming. Like, sunscreen 👏🏼 every 👏🏼 time. It’s such a good reminder!

How weird that I missed that! Maybe I’m wrong but for most the movie it seemed a lot less like a “cat eye look” and a lot more smokey black, greys and glitters across the lid. I can see how the still photos online don’t do it justice though. 😪

Check out the Kaleidos "Black Jasmine" eye quad! I am currently obsessed! Be careful with the sparkle shadow when applying, it tends to fall a bit but once fixed, looks soooo good!

I have naturally dark pigment around and under my eyes, as well. I think it's awesome. I follow you because you're one of the only makeup artists who actually uses that pigment to her advantage and doesn't necessarily cover it up, like it's a "mistake". When properly enhanced, it really makes the eyes pop.
same!!! so many people just put almost while full coverage under their eyes, it’s always annoying for be bc i have dark under eyes too. It’s great to see it actually incorporated into a make up look. I love how it looks on her
Literally the same. Thanks to @Alexandra Anele I stopped putting concealer up to my lower lash line and my makeup have never looked so much better. Also, covering the darkness just makes it look so weird while making me look tired that I'd rather use my natural darkness as an "eyeshadow" or take it to the next level with a similar, shimmery color. Never going to look back ever again.

You’re right that the reason MUAs use so much glow underneath foundation is because they pack on the powder after. So they need the skin super glowy to not make the skin look powdery.
But if you’re not using much powder, it seems like that much glowy product is overkill.
I’ve loved watching your skin journey! I’ve been on one myself, and I am SO THANKFUL I invested a little money and a little time into my skin. It has paid me back in dividends! Makeup wears better. Applies better. You need less. Hell, you don’t need it at all!! It’s great to be able to run errands with nothing but lotion and lip balm on, and feel confident and beautiful in my own skin. You don’t have to spend a fortune. My skincare comes from target. I invest 20 minutes, twice a day to my skin. It’s also helped me mentally to dedicate myself to myself. If that makes sense. Anywho / you look FUCKING AMAZING 🤩 😘😘. Thank you for continuing to educate us! We love you!
This look is 💯! You should totally do a sunscreen roundup when you find some favorites. I love the Skin Aqua UV moisture milk spf50 ( blue bottle). Dr. Dray recommends it and it's an Asian chemical sunscreen, which is hydrating. It doesn't leave a cast and is super lightweight. It feels really slippery when you first apply it but dries down to a slightly tacky satin finish after about 10 min. My only con is it's only 40ml so I go through it super fast!
Completely agree with you on the sunscreen! I absolutely love it, every time I order it I always get two bottles because it is on the small side, but I love the light weight feel, and zero cast. I can't use US chemical sunscreens because they burn so bad when I put them on, and the cast of the mineral sunscreens is horrible on my skin. The skin aqua sunscreen has been my life saver fo almost 2 years no.

I already love the topic of this video. And last week I looked up Red Carpet photos without re-touching. Some of these women have extreme face texture and acne that is allllll being corrected before we see any photos remotely up close. That said, I love watching base routine videos so thank you!
I like it by the fact that it's easy to retouch if you are going to be wearing it for a long event, but if you have saggy skin it will make you older because of the glow, you need to have nice skin in order to do this. I think that for smooth texture, mate still being the best finish if you pair it with a hydrating primer.
Ironically, I had already condensed my routine down to these steps years back, to help cover up my PIH from teen acne. I learned the basic steps (face prep, moist sponge, glowy base) from Korean tutorials. It really does diffuse a lot of texture spots. I can KNOW I have a breakout flourishing under this base, yet still hear compliments on my 'skin'. Looked great on you, Alex!!!

I think you could reach it by skipping the tint/foundation. The glow comes from the SPF cream. I'd use just pore eraser and continue with contour, blush and powder where needed (even also skip highlighter) 🤷🏻♀️

This is so stunning!!!! I want to say, as a spf obsessed sister, you should try Korean sunscreens man. They have some of the best formulations out there. My current fave is the Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen. The glow it gives….stunning
just a heads up, purito had issues a couple years ago with lying about the true spf coverage of their sunscreens. i used to always use them but now im more weary.

@@xanhadsell8160 thanks for this! Yeah I’m aware there was controversy with their previous sunscreen. The thing is it wasn’t Purito’s fault this happened and it didn’t affect only their product but sunscreens from other brands as well. Their new sunscreen is supported by third party testing that they published for consumers to review as well so that’s good enough for me. But I get why people would be sceptical

I haven’t seen anyone talk about the new Hers Daily SPF 50 and it’s AMAZING. It’s hydrating but isn’t as wet looking as the Pipette sunscreen.

Been enjoying a more tanned skin and not using any foundation or bb crème or whatever coverage type products! Just moisturizer & spf and the highlighter mix (just got the nyx born to glow palette so even has a bronzer highlighter shade that’s just right for my skin tone), blush, brows with tinted gel and mascara! Loving it takes like 10 min tops and takes a sec to take off at night so 🙌🏼
Though been catching up on your videos and been wanting to do more with my eyeshadow, on days when I I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to make that happen! So yeah… there’s my 2 cents 😂

This is what I aim for my base to look like on the daily, the only thing I’d personally change is more strategic mattifing, I’d have 100% gone for something like thr LaMer or Charlotte Tilbury where you applied the elf powder.
I’m still obsessing over that tower bronzer, can’t stop thinking about it since you first used it, I kinda need it…like I don’t have an entire drawer full of bronzers …but it’s so juicy, I don’t have anything that juicy looking ….lol
