@@ColorMeShellthey’re really just sweat wrist bands, you could probably find cute ones on Amazon! They won’t be First Aid Beauty, but they will do the same thing. You could also use cloth scrunchies!!
Can you please tell me what lip tint you were wearing in the beginning of the video. I love the color and the look of the texture, very even. Thank you. I love your knowledgeable content. You're my favorite artist/influencer
Re: the mixing of sunscreens. I am NOT a scientist-I have just watched a ton of Lab Muffin’s videos about beauty chemistry. My understanding is that mixing products in the BOTTLE (or a separate container) is really what you should avoid, as the specific preservatives and stabilizers could be compromised. Mixing in the hand may be okay. I am not sure about how the chemical protectors may interact, but the physical protectors (the zinc oxide) is prob fine. If you’re worried, layering the products is probably a safer strategy than mixing. BUT all that said, go skim through Lab Muffins sunscreen vids, cause I’m SURE she’s addressed this!!
I also watch a lot of Lab Muffin 👊🏻 I think the mixing is not Just about preservatives and active ingredients reacting with each other. There's also the issue of the stability/texture/spreadability of the product, which is also a finicky thing. So, no matter if it's chemical or physical sunscreen, the stabilizers/thickners could theoretically interfere with each other, and the sunscreen would no longer cover your skin as it was supposed to. That being said, I definitely have mixed sunscreens before 😅 And in this specific case Alex said, I think I might do it too 🤔
The mixing in a bottle being a no no was for everything other than sunscreen, because sunscreen formulation is finnicky in itself and the protection depends on the formula itself instead of just the specific percentages of filters, disrupting the formula can disrupt the protection.
This was the best video!! I also have super sensitive eyes and have gotten BLINDED while driving when a chemical melts into my eyes!! I am going to try the one you show as you seem to be ok with applying to eyelids and the under eye. Super important to me as I now have a clump of brown spots on 1 eyelid right at my eyelash line
Gentle face wash - blush used to be called "rouge" for "red." Your cleanser is called anti-rouge-r, anti-redder, basically. I love that you do a double cleanse with an oil cleanser, first - it made a huge difference to my skin when I started doing it. Something about oil breaking down oils. ❤
These complex, multiple steps taking skincare routines actually fascinates me. I am 35 and since the age of 20 I use exactly 3 products all the time: moisturizer for the night, rose water + few drops of squalane for the day. "Cleaning" process means washing my face with warm water, nothing else. When I put make-up on, I clean my face with make-up remover lotion. All products 100% natural, no parabens, no mineral oils, no phtalates (hidden in "fragrance"). And my face is just great, no break-outs anymore, perfect balance (no dry or oily spots), no black pores. Just saying.
I freaking love this video. I'm also totally envious of your complexion, which, IMO, looks even better in the various lighting conditions here. A keeper for future reference! Thank you...I can't imagine the work you put into this. It is appreciated!
I always use the supergoop eye screen around my eyes, then I can use any sunscreen on the rest of my face! The eye screen is mineral, no irritation ever, and the slight white cast brightens that area a tiny bit so I don’t mind. Also this vid is amazing. So helpful! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Gotta go to your links and grab some stuff. Super good ideas I want to try!
Everyday is different and learning what your skin needs and wants is important. Some days I'm more dry or irritated, so I'll skip my tretinoin, or use more soothing products. Thank you for all your artistic looks, very inspiring!! 💖💖💖
You're smart to figure out turning down the water temperature to wash your face in the shower. I've just been told time after time that it's too hot to wash your face in the shower. Geez and I thought I was smart. God bless you for this tip!🕺🏼😊
i absolutely adore your channel and overall vibe. just finished crocheting a blanket before bed watching this and felt like i was just hanging out with a friend on facetime!
That sunscreen reminds me of why I can only use Asian sunscreens. I like heavy moisturizers at night, but during the day, especially when it's hot out, I can't stand the feeling of heavy, sticky moisturizers and sunscreen. K and J-beauty just do it better, and they often use better UV filters that the US hasn't approved yet. I'd love to see you review a bunch of Asian sunscreens at some point. Your skin looks amazing though, consistently wins every time!
I love watching make up removal vids. I've been watching your content for a couple of years now and your skin just gets better and better... its great to see the before and after process that creates such healthy glowing skin ✨️
this has been really bebificial to me with the explanation of the order the products go your explanation of products and what they do and the frequency of use many thanks aleandra for taking the time to make this xx
Also thank you for giving an explanation on how to use the Sio patches. I’ve been wanting to use them for two years or more, but couldn’t figure out a way around skipping product after a wash.
Hi Alex, have you tried the E.L.F cleansing balm? It’s the bomb. Really gentle and a very mild mild fragrance. No stinging the eyes and very effective removing the makeup. Love all your content bro. 💖
Umm..thanks a BUNCH? I used to love dermaplaning before i started tretinoin (a few years ago) and since then every time i did it i ended up rough, sore and red for DAYS. not once did it occur to me to do it AFTER a shower when my skin is damp and softened! Genius. I did it last night and have the glowiest glow today tysm!!!
I saw a video from Charlott parler giving a tip saying that she buys the regular version spf and uses the right amount and the tinted sunscreen a dollop amount so that the tinted sunscreens Iron oxides will offer protection against the visible light as well (both from the same brand because you don't have to worry about the filters going array with each other) but it is of course still a slight possibility.
This is the type of content I like to pass my workday, or listen to while I do my makeup. I wish you had more "do your makeup with me" videos, I live and die for them! Your voice is so calming, it's like listening to my sister gossip while we get ready.
Hi Alex , great video ,thankyou ,after it ended I jumped up and cleansed and moisturised my face 😄 , I used to be very good with my skincare routine but during coronavirus and wearing face masks I think I I lost myself a bit and just couldn't be bothered ! I think I was anxious and depressed. Watching all your videos has re inspired me and I was pleased to see some of your skincare are products I swear by too . Sunscreen is difficult for me though as they all ( so far ) make my eyes run like crazy , I will try some that you use . Thankyou ,take care x
the Korean skincare routine is truly one of a kind. From its unique ingredients and ritualistic approaches to cleaning and moisturizing, it's no wonder why so many people around the world are turning to this beloved lifestyle
I use three pumps of the untinted DRMTLGY as my moisturizer and first layer of sunscreen. Then three pumps of the tinted as my second layer. My holy grail combo for last 4 years. ❤
I'll try combining the Drmtlgy sunscreens. I never thought of doing that, but I agree, the broad spectrum spectrum 45 leaves an ever so slight white cast. And the tinted is actually a pretty good skin match for me, but I too do not like tinted sunscreen all over my coat and/or shirt collar. Thanks for the detailed skin care. I got some good ideas. Your skin looks amazing!
I do similarly to you on Tret nights but I always leave the Tret without following it for at least 20mins before the next thing….use both the sunscreens, I do with the same ones, the only difference is the pigment for the tint….go for it!!!!
I don’t know if I just have a massive face or if the consistency of my tret is different, but I can never get a pea sized amount to cover my face like she did!
Loooove that Parachute robe in the back 😂 I have that exact one and the same color. I accidentally stained it when fabric bled in the wash recently and I’m itching to replace it. I was hoping for one for christmas but alas! It’s so good, I’ll wear my dingy one until next Black Friday if I have to.
Ok, i LOVED this video, i love how you simplified but also elevated your skincare. Thank for sharing! French Rosacea sufferer here using in the PM differin once a week and then rotating with Finacea azelaic acid, Ivermectin Soolantra, and a day off. TO niacinamide in the am with bioderma AR moisturizer and SVR sunscreen if im outdoor. Still looking for the perfect spf to make its way into my bathroom 😂 😘😘😘
Hi Alex, absolutely LOOOVE this video, the routines are great. As an liscensed aesthetician I would recommend layering your dermatology sunscreens just to make sure they perform correctly but since you’re indoors and reapplying it when needed it’s totally okay to mix them :) just make sure to reapply, specially if you’re going out, so don’t worry
I’ve always found it simple to wash my face in the shower because I don’t wash my body or scalp with hot water. I use just slightly warmer than body temperature water for the whole routine.
I've been watching your videos for a while, I love them. I'm 75 so can't do some of your stuff, but I've learned so much. I've been looking forever for a good lip stain, you mentioned having on a lip stain at the beginning of this video, do you have one you recommend?
Clearly, what you're doing is working for you. I'm hooked on galactomyces ferment filtrate (Secret Key), Pyunkang Yul Essense Toner, Timeless 20% Vitamin C Ferulic Acid Vitamin E, Niacinamide and Madagascar Centella. When I'm dry, instead of tons of moisturizer, I layer an oil last, over moisturizer.
I don't have the greatest skin so I recently bought my first batch of make-up to learn to cover the acne I just can't make go away, but the sheer amount of product and upkeep has me seriously second guessing if I should even keep going lmao. Major kudos to all that can do this.
Thanks so much for this video Alex! I use many of the same skincare/spf products. The makeup eraser towels are great, too. And I have been using the IT cosmetics neck cream for about the past 5 years, love it.
Thank you for this!!! Always looking for new things to try. Love that you have been switching up the content on your channel. I have been enjoying it tremendously ❤️❤️

I've got fairly sensitive eyes and surprisingly I don't find the Elemis balm causes them any issues. I prefer the Elemis Cleansing Oil over the balm tbh.
Literally just asked for this earlier today and it did not disappoint, thank you! Again, new sub here & love the content! You've inspired me to see a dermatologist AND wear sunscreen on the regular! Thank you again! :)
These are some lovely recommendations! I love makeup and have been wearing them since my teens BUT... on a day to day basis, I generally gravitate towards the no makeup - makeup look. So this tutorial really helped!
omg i don't think i've seen anyone else use Advanced Clinicals before. I love their hyaluronic acid moisturizer. Perhaps I should check out the retinol cream
Do u feel like it makes difference? I just use water to melt everything then use my normal daily cleanser. It looks enough but I see everybody using more products and now I am questioning
@@missdoojy it helps especially with the waterproof mascara. Without it it feels like there's something left on the skin usually. Maybe that's just a sensation, dunno.
I’ve been loving First Aid Beauty lately. I usually get really bad eczema in the winter and this year I barely have any because I’ve been using the KP scrub and body lotion. LOVE this combo! Starting dabbling in their face products, been using their eye cream and I really like it a lot. And my usual face wash was discontinued (😭) so I placed a pickup order on Ulta last night. Bought their face wash and facial moisturizer and I can’t wait to use them!!!
FAB is slightly better than OK in my opinion, which is just you know my opinion. However, I don’t understand the skin fix barrier cream. I was so nonplussed with skin fix hand lotion. About as moisturizing as Aquaphor is to your lips. It’s not moisturizing at all. It’s just a barrier. I can see how it can be perceived as moisturizing though.
This really wasn’t supposed to be a reply, but a statement on it’s own. Not intended to be addressed with the former comment. I hope that makes sense. 😜
@@rebeccashaw3603 I use the just the regular Ultra repair cream on my body and like I said it’s pretty much gotten rid of my eczema. It’s so nice not having itchy irritated skin all winter. And trust me, I’ve tried a ton of different products over the years, this is the best over the counter one I’ve found
I use the tinted version of the dermatology and the tinted Ulta MD 46 because it’s super moisturizing. My skin is a tad bit darker than yours and very dry.
That’s what I used to do with my DRMTLGY sunscreen!! I stopped using it a couple of years ago. The tinted is definitely not universal. The only thing that I would say is, you are not using enough spf. 1/4 tsp. Is recommended just for the face. It’s about 5-6 pumps of the DRMTLGY. Its a lot! That’s just to get the spf of 45. Your getting maybe a 25 with that amount.
I think you're thinking a 1/4 Tbsp Tablespoon, but tsp is teaspoon. She's definitely using enough. And actually, I think she's using a lot. Which is awesome, but may be "wasting" some. But she's doing a good job because she's doing multiple layers, which is highly recommended.
I watched everything and took notes 😂 thank you so much Alexandra! It was so helpful and your skin looks beautiful ❤ What do you think about Korean skin care? I end up spending a lot on a small bottles here (like moisturizers etc) and finishing it pretty quickly. I’ve seen really good prices on places like YesStyle but never tried their products
You are gorgeous. Ideal skin. I am also very fair, but dry. I use 0.1% tretinoin twice a week. Sometimes I will replace one of the two weekly uses with 0.5% if the peeling it too intense... But I think I have greater acne and scarring concerns at the moment than you do. :) Was wondering if you've ever tried the La Roche Posay Lipikar AP Balm moisturizer. It's thick and heavy as heck. I've always wanted to try the Skinfix Barrier Cream but the Lipikar Balm is my go-to because I'm such a fan and it's more affordable. Maybe I like the heavier moisturizer because my tretinoin is more intense...
New to the channel! N Wow you have gorgeous skin! I’m curious how old you are? I feel you’re going to age very well with this amount of care to the skin!! U are so beautiful! I loved watching this and now I wanna buy all the products lol 😆
Love the video. Skin care is so relaxing for me. 😊As for your cat, have you tried water fountain for cats? I know it helps with pets that don’t drink much.
Geez. I'm 56 and I'm feeling like such a slack with my skin care. I'm lucky - I have pretty good skin and not many wrinkles, but this is making me appreciate what I have and how to extend it. The derma plane is a whole nuther thing. I use it, but not with a super hydration follow up. Thanks for the tips. I'm a big Kiels fan (sp?) and use their moisturizer and night time moisturizing oil. Love it, but always looking for suggestions.
Thank for sharing this video going step by step am-pm skin care routine and skin products u use love how you use hydrating skin care what you apply to the skin using before you apply prescription help hydrate your skin from irritation using your. Benzyl peroxide are those days that you use on and then you’re not using tretinoin I love how you break it down step by step everyday use. So cute see your cat yes my cat love drink out the bathroom I heard healthy for cat drink out running water then still water they do have those running water fountain for cats seems interesting. I love how u apply the patches on your skin before bedtime I totally agree with so u just wash with fiendish soap let it set and dry put back on sticky part reply on your everything when not using tretinoin this video helps a lot.
I went to the Derm yesterday and got dermaplaned for the first time. It was great. And she recommended so many great products I've never used like serums that are easy to add into my routine. Especially good as I get older. Loved your routine!

Alex! Please do an updated version of this video. Pleeeeaaaase! ❤❤❤
These are some lovely recommendations! I love makeup and have been wearing them since my teens BUT... on a day to day basis, I generally gravitate towards the no makeup - makeup look. So this tutorial really helped!
This was enjoyable, your skin looks great! Please can you do a video on your hair -how you style it? ❤
I love this video! (and I watch a TON of skincare ones)
Blessed 🫶🏽 I’m sitting down taking notes class in session 👩🏾💻 your vid about sugar changed the game for me I’m ready for the next step
😩 I'm so happy to this 😭🙌🏻
Your skincare looks so good.
YES THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR HOW DID YOU KNOW
eeek! you're so good to us! thank you love!!!!
🥹💕
I just love all your videos 💕
Your makeup looks are the only one I recreate (multiple times) of all the ytbers I follow🐙
omg i don't think i've seen anyone else use Advanced Clinicals before. I love their hyaluronic acid moisturizer. Perhaps I should check out the retinol cream
Loved this video! I wish everyone did such detailed skincare vids
I don't have a cleansing balm yet, but I use pumpkin seed oil. Works well enough.
I use the pillow cream. It’s great.
Just wanted to say that you are GORGEOUS!!!!
And trust me, I’ve tried a ton of different products over the years, this is the best over the counter one I’ve found
Love this format for skincare video!
Hi Alex! I'm curious of what your retinol/tretinoin journey was. What major changes do you notice and all that. Love uu 🥰
I think she had at least a few videos regarding that
@@morgianasartre6709 Thanks! I'll look for them :)
I watched everything and took notes 😂 thank you so much Alexandra! It was so helpful and your skin looks beautiful ❤
What do you think about Korean skin care? I end up spending a lot on a small bottles here (like moisturizers etc) and finishing it pretty quickly. I’ve seen really good prices on places like YesStyle but never tried their products
You are gorgeous and do such a nice job educating us♥
I absolutely do the same thing as you for my sunscreen. Glad to know I am not the only one.
I really like the color of the tan bathrobe. 😮
Great video! Love watching skincare routines. 3:01
@giveaway8742 it’s super annoying to SPAM someone comments. When this happens I normally delete my comment. But not this time. Get a life.
Cerave has a really good cleansing balm.
New to the channel! N Wow you have gorgeous skin! I’m curious how old you are? I feel you’re going to age very well with this amount of care to the skin!! U are so beautiful! I loved watching this and now I wanna buy all the products lol 😆
Try the new elf sunscreen! Works great for a fraction of the price!
😶
how do you know how great it works?
how can you tell?
Love the video. Skin care is so relaxing for me. 😊As for your cat, have you tried water fountain for cats? I know it helps with pets that don’t drink much.
OMG the wrist bands! Genius!!
I think the two sunscreens are actually the exact same put one has tint. The tint is the thing that adds the additional spf 1.
