I think many of you like Zangarmarsh, it's also my case. I am a big fan of the visuals and I think that each track of the theme is mysterious and beautiful. However, I believe that the music does not have an unity, when you listen to each track, one after another it doesn't feel like they belong together too much. So this is my version of these tracks, modified (mixed, extended but not original). If I made a good job or it is what you wanted - well, you are the judge of that. As a hunter, I spent SO MUCH TIME in Zangarmarsh fishing for my cats food! I always had my "DND" flag up so people knew, especially Alliance, not to bother me. If I was ganked, I'd just get back up and continue fishing. BTW I miss your live stream :)
I never liked that electric blue color at all, but this zone is amazing nonetheless... less so visually imo but yh. Especially the music. I guess it's by Derek Duke too, since I keep finding out he's responsible for most of the tracks I love. As for this video, I think it's been hard for you to do wrong. I chose to come here late, but I'm sure I'll be appreciating/loving it. (Edit: Ah, it's mostly by Matt Uelmen, right... Gotta return to the roots, my other fav WoW composer... but I wasn't entirely wrong, there's that draenei music here somewhere.)
100% agree. Still prefer vanilla zones, but this is purely personal preference. Outland zones are such an excellent lesson of how to create something at least as good as the old, without repeating the old.
hell fire was so cool cause it was the first zone for the new expansion. Alittle depressing and fiery but still fun,,,and then i remember entering zangamarsh for the first time. The screen turns all blue and you see the mushrooms and water and you felt revived. Here is a zone full of life, water and animals. Zangamarsh truly 1 of the best. Nagrand and zangamarsh were so amazing :D
Yea, but in the lore, Zangarmarsh is far from a reprieve. You see, all those pesky insects are out to kill you, and if I am not mistaken, the air is quite hot as well. Not mentioning festering wounds.

This brings a tear to my eyes nowadays. It has been 14 years. This place is magical to me. The music, the atmosphere, the small ambient sounds that this zone's creatures make have been ingrained in my memory for ever, it seems. I am 31 now but I will still remember and watch this when I am 60, 70 perhaps. Zangarmarsh is a place I would want to retire in if I could and spend my last days there, on top of the mushroom that is the alliance outpost, the small wooden road on the very edge of this mushroom. A wooden road that goes along the edge of the outpost, overlooking the entire eastern part of the zone. Yes, there. I would be sitting there.
36 here my friend, and I can relate. There was a time in my life that I was the worst version of myself with nothing look to forward to. But BC, especially Zangarmarsh, Shattrath, Auchindoun and Terokkar Forest music pleaded to my soul. There was this optimism and beauty that not all was lost. The music talked to me and here I am. The darkest years of my life were also the most memorable and beautiful ones, thanks to this expansion. I've never gotten over this expansion and it fills a void even today, a constant reminder of how to never lose hope no matter how worse it gets. There is still life out there that is meant to be living. Strange I'm messaging you, a complete stranger about my feelings but WOW... did this game ever capture something that touches the soul. Unfortunately, I don't feel the same way about this game anymore as there is no beauty nor creativity in the latter expansions and WoW became a cash-cow for Blizzard. I bet some people still play but gone are the days when a game held so much meaning and shared such optimism.

This reminds me of the good old days when I was leveling my first character. I started shortly after the release of TBC and leveled a retribution paladin. I was still in school back then and I'd spent the whole summer holiday leveling through outland. I had no idea of the game and my class but I didn't care. Knowing that there were so many things about the game I didn't know made it feel special and mystical. Amazing experience.

This theme was a happy accident, but it works so well. Originally the TBC music was for a Diablo project - and this clearly was meant to be for a dessert zone. The Arab/Indian influence of the music really sells a foreign/exotic environment (to Westerners) - while still remaining familiar and grounded with traditional instruments.
true story: I listen to wow music while I read (helps build atmosphere) and most recently I read Dune for the first time and this was the music I listened to for most of the book due to the eastern themes.
Funfact that not a lot of people know (or still remember) part of Zangermarsh music is actually reused from the event/quest for Opening the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. It's only played the once for the event but the moment I entered Zangermarsh while riding on my Black Qiraji Battle Tank. I recognized it instantly. I really liked all of AQ so not letting such an amazing pierce of music go to waste by using Zangarmarsh theme is great.
Wintersprings, Azuremyst Isle, Grizzly Hills and Valley of Four Winds are great contenders to that spot. Ardenweald, Talador and HighMountain could be too if they did not clutter them so much.
Thank you for this upload.. Watching this makes me realize that I am trapped in the Time Warp......... In it's day, I couldn't go through Hellfire Peninsula fast enough to get to Zangarmarsh.. Hands down my Fav Zone in it's time.... My main and most of my alts completed EVERY quest here.. Unforgettable Fire........ Cheers..
Ahhh Zangarmarsh is probably my favourite TBC zone! I love the water and swamp effects without it being too hard to get around, the atmosphere is just magical/fantasy enough to stop it from being a 'creepy swamp', and I always thought the quest progression there was one of the times early-Blizzard got questing flow right in a zone. Thanks for this!
Zangarmarsh reminds me of Kanye West's Graduation so much just put me under a mushroom I could sing that mofo all day lol, man this takes me back though holy crap.
These are great...I stopped playing recently for good after getting to 70 on my main in Dragonflight. Dragonflight is 2 expansions too late for me, after Legion I tried to get the desire to play like I did from tbc to Legion but it's time to move on. Love the music in the game, brings back so many memories.
Your videos are always so good. Is it possible you could do one of Zangarmarsh and it's just the ambience? The only one i can find on youtube is when it is raining and the soundscape is dominated by the sound rain. Twould be greatly appreciated.
