    Your video about the regular ACUVUE oasys max convinced me to get trial lens. I ended up buying them. They feel better than my Dallies Total 1.

    VERY informative! Thanks so much for this posting. I stumbled across this video while doing research on these lenses. (My eye-doctor just recommended them and gave me a sample box to try). First day in and I DO like them a lot. I've also checked around, and your company appears to have the best prices. (Even better than SAMS Club and Costco). Thanks again for the great info!

      Excellent. Thanks for the response. Remember that they are not designed to be cosmetic lenses... but for those who receive the greatest enhanced effect, they tend to love them the most. I hope you are one of those people. Share your experience if you can. Thanks for watching.

      @@YourEyeShow I will definitely share my experience. What I'm looking for at my age, has more to do with comfort, visibility, and lens moisture. 😊

    Hello Dr. I have been trying many trail contacts and I'm still not satisfied. I have a small astigmatism in one eye. I haven't tried these, what suggestions do you have for me?

    • @YourEyeShow
      @YourEyeShow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My suggestion would depend upon what the problem is...
      Making a suggestion for you specifically involves many factors that you doctor would be best to guide you since they are the person you are working with directly...
      For example, I would need to understand ( please do not answer these questions, I'm just trying to explain important details to help guide my decision)...
      What are you not satisfied with?
      What is your prescription?
      Are you trying spherical lenses that do not correct your astigmatism and you want sharper vision?
      How old are you?
      What are your expectations?
      What is the status of your tear film?
      What lenses have you tried prior?
      What kind of work do you do?
      Have you been trying astigmatism correcting lenses all along and haven't found clarity yet, or are simply wondering if they are the answer?
      If you're trying to hone in on the best astigmatism lens, be aware a good fit needs to be done, which requires your cooperation with the fitting process. For example, An astigmatism lens may spin, so followups with your doctor over multiple sessions may be needed to determine the best lens for vision.
      Overall, for both spherical and astigmatism lenses, I do have my preferences that may determine where I start my fit, but the fitting process (which includes answers to all pertinent questions that may arise) determines where where the fit continues and finally ends.
      In general, my favorite types of soft lenses are the silicone hydrogel one day designs. If you don't want a one day, I suggest a two week silicone hydrogel (like the Oasys or Oasys for Astigmatism). If you don't want the two week, then the monthly silicone hydrogel option is available.
      I know that this perhaps isn't the answer that you're looking for, but it's the best I can do without all of the details.

      1. Get an illuminated magnified mirror. I have one that I mounted to the wall and "scissors" out. Mount it at eye height.
      2. Stand very close to the mirror and move your eyes so that the right eye is now looking towards your nose. It may help to stand at an angle towards the mirror.
      3. With your clean index finger, touch the lens at its very bottom, then slide the lens laterally; that is, towards the exposed white part of your eye (on the ear side of your face).
      4. With your index finger and thumb, pinch off the contact lens and discard.
      5. Rotate your body (swivel to the right a little bit) so now you can apply the same technique to the left eye.
      I've been doing it this way for three years. Once in a while the lens doesn't slide laterally. A drop or two of contact lens solution will help.

    I have Amblyopia and was given multi focal ACCUVUE daillies...they don't solve my issue of reading fine print,but they do help. Doc,any suggestions to further help my problem? Multi focals def help with distance,but close up i cant read fine print too well. Any suggestions?

    • @YourEyeShow
      @YourEyeShow  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Multifocal contacts tend to work better for the person who is binocular. Depending on the depth of amblyopia, if the amblyopia isn't very deep (vision isnt terrible in the worse eye), i often will try monovision with single vision lenses - not a multifical (put a NEAR FOCUS lens in the worse eye - and a FAR FOCUS lens in the other). In the end, getting both far and near to work with any contacts definitely creates a greater obstacle to wear regardless. You're going to have to accept compromise to make it work.

    I’m on a trial of these and they are very comfortable but the reading part doesn’t seem to work.

    • @YourEyeShow
      @YourEyeShow  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you get trials from your doctor, they must take into account both distance and near vision. Doctors often try to make sure that you do not lose any of your sharp distance, so they lean more on giving quality distance on your first trial lenses, and hope that the chosen near add satisfies your near requirements. Remember from the video, the optical zone is shared by both far and near, so this means that lower add power may affect the distance in a negative manner the least, while the higher add power may affect the distance negatively the most. Make sure you return to your doctor for your follow up and explain what worked and what didn't work, so they can modify your next set of trials to hopefully improve your vision needs.
      The moral of this story is this... don't despair, the first pair of trials is often not the final Rx.
      Thank you for the response, and please let us all know how your fit progresses. It would make interesting feedback... good or bad.

      This is correct. It took me 5 trials of different lens types (power and what-not) until I found one that works best for me. I use 1-Day Acuvue Moist Multifocals. These changed my life! I was able to ditch my hated reading glasses after 10 years of suffering with them.

    These lenses are super comfortable but they change my natural blue color to an unnatural looking green. I somewhat noticed it the day after but I had a green top on and my eye color does change a bit based on what I wear so I just assumed that was the reason but the next day in a different color top they stayed the same color. I do not like that at all and unfortunately I purchased a 6 month supply just based on the feeling of the sample lenses they gave me in the office during my last exam hoping I can exchange them since my order has already arrived at the Dr office. If they can get rid of the tint I would give them a try again for sure!

      The MAX has a blue blocker that does give this "green-cast" to certain lighter color eyes. This point was discussed in the video. It is the blue blocker that does it, so you cant remove it and keep the lens viable. It tends to be the deal-breaker for blue eyes, deal-maker for people who have greenish eyes... makes the green pop. The closest lens to the MAX is the Oasys 1day. Thanks for the comment.

    Well if you're farsighted like me and many others, that 123 is pretty worthless if you're primarily using the contact to begin with for presbyopia.

    • @YourEyeShow
      @YourEyeShow  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is TRUE... if you dont have glasses as well. Contact lens wearers should ALWAYS use contacts in addition to glasses, not instead of glasses.

    • @YourEyeShow

      Chalk one up for the Dailies Total 1 Multifocal then. Sometimes, that is what happens even with the top lenses out there. Not every brand is for everybody. It's always best to do a full trial before making any final decisions or orders.

    Great lens except if you have blue or light colored eyes… they will now be the color of green cow scours. What a shame. I will have to throw them out. Extreme unnatural color. 😢

    • @YourEyeShow
      @YourEyeShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lens is exceptional in every way, and it does not seem to be the price that ends up "making-or-breaking" the decision to buy this lens for the lighter colored eyes. And youu nailed it. The final decision comes down to the color. You love it... or you hate it. Though it's not intended to be a cosmetic lens, the blue light blocking effect tilts the color of an eye slightly toward green. So the light blue eye gets a bit greener... and tends not to be appreciated ( but sometimes it is because of the new look). The lighter bule-green eyes defi Italy tilt more to true-green and they tend to love it. Brown eyed people hardly notice it. This is just a basic observation though, and does not affect all eye colors. The best way to see if you like it or not, is to test it out yourself. In the end, your opinion on the color may be the determinant factor, even though all other aspects of the lens are amazing.
      Thanks for the input... I'm anxious to hear what "makes or breaks" other peoples decisions too. Is it the appearance of the eye (good/bad)? Or the details in comfort?
