I've been doing the same thing for some time now - if Lego still stocks / makes the part, I buy from there. I use Bricklink for discontinued parts or ones that Lego doesn't have. The only downside to Lego is that it takes FOREVER to get the bricks, which is pretty annoying. The bricks are always new though, which is great.

I really struggle with trying to find a deal on Bricklink, because most of the sellers that have the items I want are located in America or Europe. This makes postage a stupid amount. Just trying to find a good Australian seller.,

Thanks for stating the obvious CatProductions95, however Australia as a country is made up of 6 states and 2 territories, hence my question, which state. If Darth Jar Jar can find a seller in their own state then it can save on postage. I know multiple good sellers around Australia so was going to help suggest some depending on their state.

AN AMAZING_brick_BAZAAR! has great range but tends to bundle pieces so if you just want 3 of a certain part you may have to buy 10, which will jack up the total price, Aussie Brickster is good, I've made several purchases from them, Aussie_Brickmart as well. There is also a great seller in SA, Brick-ology, and Maxspace in NSW.I would recommend just having a look through the list of stores in Vic and seeing their piece count and ratings to give you a feel for who to shop with.www.bricklink.com/browseStores.asp?countryID=AU&groupState=YNote I am not a seller so I have not recommended my store, just some advice on my experience.Let me know how you go or if you need any other help.

I’m waiting for the head to be delivered now, hopefully it’s in good condition.

LOL No it isn't, lego charges shipping for orders under $35 plus Lego doesn't have as many part variety as some bigger brick link sellers. but good tips if you just want a single item in super high qty and Lego has it.

  • @LGaidjrg_non

In my country, we don't really have an official Lego store, only 3rd party stores exclusively for Lego. Because of that, we cannot buy through Lego themselves and have to rely on bricklink sellers. If the native sellers don't have the pieces you need, well, you're out of luck because then you need to pay a lot more for shipping from abroad

    • @LGaidjrg_non

I find Bricklink is cheaper for the vast majority of parts, but not all.
Also, make sure to make use of Want Lists in Bricklink, then you can search for sellers that are selling most or all of your want list to save shipping. I just use an Excel sheet compare all pricing options to find the best deal. For me it's usually Bricklink by far (actually Lego Store pick-a-brick is the best deal but that's another story).

I just recently started looking at YT content about Legos and you gave me the Very Best tip in this video. For example I've been thinking about building a swamp design but I don't have enough plant or animal pieces to fill in the terrain. I looked on bricklink for the pieces I wanted, went to pickabrick in the Lego store under the replacement link and was able to find quite a few that weren't located under the regular pickabrick links. This tip has let me order enough foliage and animals to make this build possible, thank you very much.

As an Australian BL is always more expensive. The postage is the cost is insane, we lose out on the $ conversion and the lack of tracking by default is utter garbage. There are basically 0 local sellers on BL so it's always coming from US or EU. Just in general it sucks as a market place. Getting bricks off eBay or Pick a Brick or Brics & Peaces is typically a better idea because you don't have worry about the seller possibly screwing you or the package gets lost in the post. Lego's only downside is that thye use 2 postage numbers when sending to Australia so tracking never works until it transfers to Australia Post.

Wow.. I didn't know that! When i was looking at the amount of bricks i need - i wanted to buy a lot of 3 type of bricks - i found out there is no shop in my country that will allow me to buy this amount of bricks in 1 or even 2 shops. It would cost me a looot of money. But! Quick search found that there is a shop but in the other country. The price on lego site for 600 bricks was a little higher than bricklink... BUT shipping added 20% OF the whole value.. So it was 20% difference!!!! I thought that bricklink will always be the cheaper way but it is not. Also - Lego provides new bricks... so there is NO EXCUSE!

I just learned to use the rebrickable.com search store engine.
Much better then the bricklink search engine.
I use many wanted lists and i want many many different parts. I almost never chose a store for one specific part.
    1/create wanted list on BL
2/create custom part list on rebrickable
3/export list from bl, import parts list to your custom list.
    4/ go to 'buy parts'
5/ compare best prices, quantity %, cheapest stores from bricklink and brickowl.

Great video! But missing the fact that BrickLink sellers in your state will charge sale taxes in addition. It doesn't look like there is one best place to buy, it's all about comparing every time. I bought lots of 100x 2x2 tiles or the small chain links on amazon with prime, often without sales tax, so the unit price was good.
