About a week ago, I won an Ebay auction for all 6 Hordika for only $35. After that, I got a little addicted, and ended up buying a couple cheap lots, and a 2015 Pohatu for $10.
The trick is to look for auctions ending soon that don't have any bids. You can find some incredibly worthwhile deals this way.

Just to update this information a bit, the pick a brick wall in legostores currently have square boxes (or rectangle to be precise), this makes it far easier to stack your container to the brim with stuff, even stacked plates or lots of bricks. As long as you treat it like a puzzle to fit every piece you want, it is actually a good price per part option and I also think it is fun.
The Legostore itself is usually a fun place to be, the staff is superfriendly and there are other people that are stacking their boxes so you can learn some tricks, most people don't mind at all to help you out if you go for the first time and don't know how to do it. You can even ask the staff for a tip on how to best stack, they don't mind helping either.
Overall, I think this is a very rewarding way to build your parts inventory, if you check the store once every 2 weeks, there are always new pieces in the wall and you can slowly build up your collection by 2 or 3 full boxes a month. The hardest part to figure out for this, is which pieces you need many of and which ones you don't, that will take a little experience, but once you starting building with the stuff you have, you will quickly figure that out.

in May of this year I went to Colorado and brought back over 75 lbs of lego for less than $100 from thrift stores such as ARC, Goodwill and The Salvation Army, lots of minifigures included, I now have 5 stack tubs and three giant plastic bags full of lego with one tub being almost exclusively Minifigs

This really helps, the price of Lego sets in my country is almost 2x more expensive than the usual, especially on Lego stores. I don't even know where to find cheap stores here so, imma go international shops.

    • @samuelfrederick1782

Yeah I feel you,"Lego" stores in my country sell sets for not so reasonable prices. Tbh in my country there is a bigger market for off-brand Lego than official Lego.At a certain point I just gave up because even on Amazon if the price don't get you the shipping will

I’ve transitioned over to using almost entirely CCBS and bionicle/technic parts, so I may consider selling off most of my system parts. I’ll probably keep a few though, I find a lot of the 1xwhatevers to be useful for things like shaping and creation cool effects like a gunshot.

I see ToaChirox98 has extended family. That's good to know.
Also, man, in my experience, I've just had to be nice to people, they learn I like LEGO, and they have just given me collections.
When I was 8 or 9, one of my dad's students babysat me for just one day, saw I liked LEGO, and his family that had three of these boys were graduating high school or were already in college gave me three big bins and two paper grocery bags full of old Space (sadly not Classic Space), Pirates, Aquazone, Castle, and Star Wars, it was awesome.
A friend of mine, her brother that was only a few years younger than me when I was 14 didn't want his stuff, so he gave it to me in a kitchen trash bag.
My pastor's son, who was like 30 and whom I've never met, gave me all his old LEGO, too, which meant I got a few duplicates of classic Star Wars stuff and some stuff I had never gotten, Model Team sets, classic Technic.
It's been a pretty good deal. I'm never comfortable asking people for LEGO collections though, I don't want to impose. I just need to find more people that are no longer interested in keeping their stuff. Although I am -running out of- completely out of space.
I wish my grandparents hadn't given the LEGO that was at their place to my step uncle and his family who never touched the stuff when I was at their place across the country back in 2007, I could have gotten another big bin full of free LEGO. Shoot, the last time I had a birthday party was at their place and it was LEGO themed, they knew! (Although I don't know how you get so much LEGO from Oregon to Florida on the cheap.)
    I'm so stingy.

My brother had like 2000 dollars of lego over his lifetime. Like from 5-18 he bough legos and got them for holidays and birthdays. I’ll ask him. It been a long time since I have. Maybe he’s changed his mind. Thanks for reminding me my brother was a lego finnatic a couple years ago😂

In Germany the easiest way to get cheap lego is bricklink and some bigger flea markets (in my opinion).
It's just to bad, that there are only a few flea markets in northern Germany.
I believe that some German lego fans could say other examples.

There are currently 3 (or 4) official LEGO stores in the Netherlands, quite a few unofficial ones and a few really cool Bricklink stores that actually have a physical store where you can buy lego by the gram from huge unsorted crates. This is not the cheapest option for sure and some of the pieces are not in the best shape, but it is a fun way to spend your time and still build up an inventory. At least you don't pay anything for shipping and you can buy only the pieces you specifically want and find yourself.

Bricks and pieces could work. That or anything else I covered in the video. But you probably can still use Bricklink with your parents permission

    • @Matteo_the_Plague_Doctor
      @Matteo_the_Plague_Doctor 5 ปีที่แล้ว

You don't have to be 18 to shop on bricklink you just have to be able to pay for it. If your parents have paypal they can pay for it, and you can have the account.
