This is one of the best analysis of characters I've seen so far.
Everyone is blindly pulling for the Smokey endurance team comp, but that's not the best for pushing really hard content.
You need max ranged dps to focus fire down their highest threat team members.
I'm lvl 137, on AFK stage 765, fighting lvl 196 mobs.
The team I use is: Bryon, Vala, Cecia, Thoran, Rowan, along with the confinement artifact.
Thoran survives for several seconds before getting chunked by the mobs. Rowan's big heal potions (+the defence resist afterwards) keeps Thoran up for as long as possible. Thoran goes down, and the mobs dogpile Rowan.
Meanwhile, the confinement artifact keeps their back-rank healer/dps under crowd control. Vala takes them out asap.
Everyone is sleeping on Bryon, but he has the highest dps in the game. He also starts the fight with 1000 energy, so can go HAM immediately. He puts pressure on the tank, making the enemy healers focus him. That's important, because it distracts them from healing the back rank characters, letting Vala get some fast kills.
If Thoran + Rowan survives long enough for Cecia to summon, then it's usually all over.

@@Windsofambience Sorry, but if Smokey, and Koko aren't doing good for you mid-game, you don't have them built. That being said, I run Thoran, Cecia, Odie, Smokey, and Rowan... current res level 180, and current afk stage 965 (iirc).

So happy to hear some Brutus love, he's an absolute beast. Got me to level 500 at just shy of resonance 120, which I'm pretty happy with. He just so happens to be my first supreme+ character too, just turned out that way in the pulls.
How's his dmg at supreme?
@@JTT126 In AFK stages he's usually doing around 75-95% of the damage that my main DPS does, which is Cecia. Which is great imo! Got his equipment at +7, I imagine a big dps spike at +10 where the timer for cleaving strike is removed.
id like to note that stacking scarlita shield+antandra shield + smoky +ironwall has let my thoran actually tank and properly ult down 45 levels and not just be a meatshield, which has allowed me to break through some stages i had no hopes of without that extra scarlita shield

Just gonna say Atalanta is being overlooked. Deficit pushing is literally her primary use. Especially once you hit Mythic+ you can put her either on the front line or to the side to double whip.
You have to position correctly so she whips one unit into another, but she buys time better than most and then provides non negligible damage and continues to cc if she lives.
Her main problem is all tier lists noping her so very few have actually grinded her up to try.
Shes bad.

i manage to win 700k stage while on 500k using antandra/brutus, odie, thoran, rowan and smokie....odie execute really good. he can recover full energy instantly when 1 dies. using lv 10 starshard mean i keep aoe ing the rest while reducing their aspd
The team at 21:58 is really good, I normally put Brutus behind Thoran so when Thoran goes down for his resurrect Brutus takes the agro with his Immune.
I like this adjustment!
Lucius and Antandra are S tier. With deficit pushing, it doesn’t matter how meta tanks are, what matters is how much you can delay so your dps can set up. Both have amazing synergy with Thoran and Brutus as Antandra will always wait back a little before running to the front line which makes her a great off tank, Lucius can be used to set up a shield on Brutus/Thoran when they gain their invisibility/revive
lucius is more like a support unit than a tank imo
even in afk arena he was too squishy to perform as tank in high deficit
I would really like to play this if only I am not playing 2 other gacha aside from wotv lol I played afk arena before but quitted after it introduced so many contents and cant consider it idle/afk game anymore.
Do u have team synergy recommendations for Brutus? So far I'm far advance in pushing afk levels but I wanna see if there's more potential team comps that I haven't tried
Any other tank has worked great for me
currently on afk floor 490 with 150k power, while the enemy has 215k 0-0, its getting pretty tough

I didn’t pull smoky or thoran so my exact clearing team is Brutus/temesia or antandre/koko/rowan/Cecia. I would be nowhere without Brutus lol.

The thing I don't see about "pushing with deficit" is that the enemies are so much higher level than you and have so much higher stats that they just straight up body any tanks you have. Unless you have tanks at mythic or higher I don't see them stopping enemies at all.
My team is mostly at legendary and around level 80-85 pushing level 96 to 100 content, and I lose as often as I win, even with a lot of the heroes on this list.
And that's mostly because my tanks die to quickly even with maxed out gear for their level so that my damage pushing units immediately get attacked and die even faster.
Generally speaking I can push content about 10-15 levels higher than myself, but beyond that it's an extremely sketchy proposition.
So 30-40 levels higher? I don't see it happening without a LOT of copies of these heroes.
And yes, I've seen videos of people talking about positioning matters, the artifacts you use, etc. I know all of that and I use it and in my server I''m in the top 10-15% of ranks in content that follows those kinds of things as far as fights I can take on vs everyone else.
But even still I can't push content 20 levels higher than myself.
A couple easy tips I would throw you are
1. If you are using Thoran try putting a lineup of Thoran in front, Brutus behind and then the squad. Thoran will tank, die, drop agro. Brutus picks up and tanks for his time while thoran revives and regathers agro. Then team is ready to rumble
2. I use that 2 unit backline CC artifact in all my pushing comps. The ability to just hard CC two of their units every so many seconds is clutch.
@@AuronnjJayy I don't have that artifact yet because I'm not far enough in the story. I'm stuck at midway through the dark forest at the moment.
I only have the first two artifacts, the one that heals and the one that makes units attack faster.
My team typically consists of Brutus and Thoran as my main tanks, Cecia as my main dps, smokey as my healer and then I add either another dps character or another healer as needed.
I keep smokey as my healer because not only do his heals come out faster to help my tanks survive longer, but he also gives atk and speed bonuses to allies which buffs cecia.
I use the atk speed artifact on cecia to get her ult out faster until I can get a better artifact.
I don't have many other good buff characters to add like rowan, who I don't have at all, so this is the best team I have at the moment.
My other dps tends to be either viperian or another ranger unit, mostly because viperian can heal himself and does decent damage to all enemies on the field.
I've got vala, but I don't have any dupes of her, so she isn't dealing enough damage to be viable for a back line killer yet.
My biggest weakness right now is the enemy units directly attacking my back line, there isn't much I can do about that.
@@magickmynd1296 Any way to throw one of your tanks on the back line to draw aggro from the enemy units hitting your back line? Antandra would be good for this as she stays in place for just a little bit at the start of a fight. I actually made it through most of the early-mid game running 3 tanks, Rowan, and Cecia... the 3 tanks were mainly Lucius, Temesia, and Antandra.
@@michaelcooper1558 unfortunately not because by the time the enemy goes to my backline all the tanks have run to the front.
My only strategy against it at the moment is to manually use Cecia's ultimate when when the backline gets attacked if I have it available to get Mr. Carlyle to stun them and take over as a semi-tank.
@@michaelcooper1558 Only other thing I can do is throw in someone like Carolina who can freeze a target long enough for one of my tanks or Mr. Carlyle can come back and take care of rogues or something, but I only have her at epic rank and level 80, so she can die easily.

Brutus showcase with a full 5* mythic team doesn't really help his case though, it's just looks like a whale comp imo

The point is the same regardless of the team. If I lacked the dupes I have I would definitely be like 10 floors or so lower but Brutus is a tool that can bring any team up when pushing higher level content.

I played with my friend's Mythic Hewynn and holy crap, she gets a damage reduction on top of that heal. Hilariously strong!
But yes, wow, she is sloooooow. I had to build a whole different style of team to win. Three tanks, Cecia and Hewynn, for example lol. Three tanks!
U need her exclusive +5 so she starts wit 300 energy helps a ton.
Rowan is mandatory in any comp.
no way eironn and carolina are in b tier for “needing too many duplicates” when thoran has the same issue of not tanking or doing much real damage at high deficits before he gets enough dupes to hit mythic+
Eironn is probably best character in the game at mythic+ he becomes a member on like every team except some dream realm contents imo
Because this list is based on "mid-game" where even I as a whale don't have enough dupes to make them into the monsters they will someday be.
mthic+ odie should be straight S tier he makes deficient pushing easy if you keep him alive and if you manual him to focus the major threats

Odie is good but sadly for big power gap he isnt gonna do much since he only single target and no access to dmge dealer in the back no matter how strong odie is he not gonna kill the front line fast enough before they reach him even if he did kill the front line your tank should also died already and you gonna be destroyed by enemy backline, what we need is aoe and back line sniper.
@@Exp3Li did 200k deficit with odie tho. got better with +10 starshard. winning 700k with 500k. at lv 10, starshard casted every 3 ult which is fast. its aoe dmg + aspd reduction which in many scenario, makes my team survive better.
it is hard when the enemy is a summoner type tho as killing summon doesnt recover energy

Lol she is a beast in pushing the afk tiers 😂. A tier for her seems lower. She can disable enemy unit and auto heal with so high survivability.

There is no way odie is lower tier than brutus 😂. Odie can be used in any mode with insane damage output. Brutus i think at best he would be at C tier due to his immortality. Other than that he pretty much is just an ok unit.
Brutus invuln makes pushing a lot easier. I pull him out for some painful stages 900+
Brutus does something no one else in the game can do, he can literally tank anything in the game for a certain amount of time. Odie is a great damage dealer but stuck to hitting a single target that is often the frontline of the enemy lineup (unless you like cheese toss him to the backline and then RIP him)
@@AuronnjJayy Yerp that same argument is also true for Brutus lol. He is also hitting the frontline. Brutus is like so much lacking if compare to Thoran and Thoran can do much better job than him. I will say Granny is even better than Brutus as she can drain hp lock surrounding enemies and does crazy damage while Brutus just delaying the frontliners for a few seconds. Odie on the other hand does crazy tonnes of damage and at the same par as an epic hero which is crazy.
