Seeing them live was an incredible memory in my young life. Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon were such a treat to watch.

My Dad took me to see them when I was a kid back in mobile Alabama. It was a great time and I will never forget them. I'm 67 now.

I am 69. My cousin took me and my brothers to see them back about 1965. I had never watched a basketball game so it was all new to me. This was in Washington DC by the way. The only specific gagI remember was the water bucket gag where they all wipe their faces out of a bucket and then throw it into the spectators faces but it’s actually confetti. big laughs

Bob Gibson played for the Globetrotters before becoming one of the greatest pitchers ever. He had the best single season by a starter. Ever, 1.12 ERA and 13 shutouts. No one will ever even get a third of his shutouts in a season again.

I never knew he played for the Globetrotters, but loved watching him pitch! I lived close to Chicago so I got to see him several times per year when they played the cubs home or away

They wanted Meadowlark to play pro, but he didn't want to.
Meadowlark Lemon! I'm 70, and my dad took me to see him and the Globetrotters in St. Louis, when i was 7 or 8. I had so much fun! I will never forget the game or my wonderful father!

The globetrotters are such an iconic piece of American culture. I loved watching Meadowlark Lemon and Curly (the bald guy) growing up. Was great family entertainment. And those guys also had huge charisma to go along with the fun.
It's not the NBA. The Harlem Globetrotters never played in the NBA. NBA rules weren't changed because of the Harlem Globetrotters.

In 1981 or 1982, when we lived in Equador, my father took me to see the HG in Quito. I remember still having trouble to understand what Globetrotters means. But I do remember a great show that went with me for years.

They were the highlight of my childhood. I think I saw them three or four times and I could barely sleep the night before knowing that I would get to watch them. Absolutely wonderful.

Having seen them as a kid, when I heard they were coming to town, it was a mission to take my kid's. They're in their 30's now and haven't forgotten one of the best shows ever.
They were in their heyday in the late 70's & 80's these guys are actually in their late 60's now, probably more likely 70's & 80's,

The first time I saw them I was 12, I am 63 now so that was 51 years ago. They had to be at least 20 at the time so that is 71 minimum.

I waited in the hallway for Curly and Meadowlark after their game. I was 11...they both smiled, stopped and autographed my card which was a large card from The Banana Splits which I was a member! They came to West Plains, Missouri in 1970. They were the greatest thing I had ever seen. They played against our teachers and it was hilarious! I believe in 69 the Redheads came and also played the teachers. They were good but didn't come off as funny as the Globetrotters.

One thing that I recall is when one of the players had a bucket of water in a bucket and threw it on a another person and they got all wet.
There was another bucket where one of the Harlem players picked it up and fake the audience out because they thought they was going to be soaking wet. When the player finally threw it on the audience it was just confetti 🎊. Lol
