Huge carp spawning in The Netherlands in the spring of 2020, end of April. Just an awesome sight to see these huge females causing right at the surface of the water and even pushing half of their bodies out of the water when fertilising the eggs. Camera fishing is really easy when the carp are busy with laying their eggs! That said, it is hard to follow them at times, but such a sight to see. Carp are called karp in Dutch or karpers.

They spawn or mate for only a few days and then they go back down to the bottom. So this is the best chance to see a carp, apart from those that you will catch on a rod and reel when fishing. Capturing video of these carp spawning is tricky, but a lot of fun.

I had never seen this happen... until recently. WOW! what a spectacle! I had no idea carp could be so full of energy. for 4-5 days huge 10-15 lb carp thrashed it out at East Amwell lake in NJ where I walk my dogs every day. My dogs freaked out and want in on the fun!!!
It really is a special moment and only happens over a few day period and some years less than others, depending on water temps. Beautiful to see.

I am in Nevada USA. I watched this for the first time Jun 10 2021.
@@stetkal we are seeing it now in Illinois- Late June. Dozens and dozens doing this all at once on the Fox River
