Nope, there was History Channel Battle for the Pacific. That game was critically acclaimed but had issues with lag on many garphic cards. I never could get it to run correctly but it was all pacific theater wwll. I never have checked on steam to see if they loaded it because if they did it may have been fixed. The original Red Faction had bizarre graphic effects on nvidia cards but steam adjusted it somehow and fixed it.
Most intense battles happened on the eastern front where millions of germans and russians clashed. Over 25 million soviets died. U.S. lost in the entire war on all fronts only 400,000, which is only 1.6% of all soviet deaths. The war in the pacific had its own horrors, but the scale and intensity of suffering was on the eastern front, where the largest invasion in human existence has occurred in 1941.
Some Historical Inaccuracies in this level. 1: Most of the MG's deployed by the Marines would have been water-cooled 30 cal's not the air cooled like you see here. 2: Bloody Ridge's defenses were tested twice. This is the first battle, and the defenses were not this close. There would be a fox hole with a group of men, go three feet to the left or right, and then there would be another fox hole. There simply were not enough men to cover the entire airfield perimeter.
Most of the rifles would have been 1903-A1 Springfields, or in the case of the Raider battalion, M-1941 Johnsons. The Para-Marines also used Johnsons. I know it was 4 years ago.
On this one, there is a glitch with the 30 cal where you fire the whole 100 bullets and get off as your reloading to save you an extra 100. It helped me on this one.
19:57 The only guy in the whole game with a M1941 Johnson MG. He sits at the forward right hand foxhole at the start of the mission where you need to deliver ammo to. Normally I'll deliver the ammo to get my "hero objective", then blow him up with a satchel charge to get his Johnson MG. But it's not a very good weapon. The reload takes way too long.
During the heavy fighting, portions of three Japanese companies, including two from Tamura's and one from Watanabe's battalions, skirted the Marine defenses on the ridge, while suffering heavy losses from Marine gunfire, and reached the edge of "Fighter One", a secondary runway of Henderson Field. A counterattack by the Marine engineers stopped one Japanese company's advances and forced it to retreat. The other two companies waited at the edge of the jungle for reinforcements to arrive before attacking into the open area around the airfield. When no reinforcements joined them, both companies went back to their original positions south of the ridge after daybreak. Most of the rest of Watanabe's battalion did not participate in the battle because they lost contact with their commander during the night.
Seeing this mission especially onthe second part you feel like your the hunted this is how much this battle was in the Pacific Islands the Japanese although they lost but they did the Manhunt part exceptionally well how did they survive this is the question that makes me ask myself.

One question: i must put the enemy beneath the .50 gun's target(that aiming pin), or put the enemy in the middle of it, to shoot precisely? I keep wondering it
Its a very inexpensive game to buy and if you get a used one there are alot of keys online for it as the keys are not being monitored anymore. Im talkin less than ten bucks here and maybe closer to five.GO GO GO

I remember playing this I tought the game was bugged but you were supposed to hold the Japanese and i couldn't beat the game unfortunately...

You put the bar that matches up with the top of the V shaped notch's outer parts on the enemy. (also it's a .30 cal, not a .50 cal. ;) )
