I'm no rocket scientist. But, water tanks can be built in the mountains, and gravity could be used to supply water when there is no electricity. 🤷‍♂️

Why not bury lines in high risk areas?

Return our water back to all streams and gulches as it should be..pray to the Gods that our islands be nurtured.

We're surrounded by ocean. Why not use sea water to kill fires. They do it in other states

Can’t they use ocean water to put out wildfires since we are surrounded by it?

Except for Hawaiian Homes, it's illegal to catch water. Everyone else is good.

Even during the Lahaina and Kula fires and other times when we have been without electricity for a long time ( in Kula, Maui) the county parked tankers with potable water in easy to reach places. They have done this for as long as I can remember, it is convenient and works well - are they saying they intend to discontinue this ?

That why our government should take care of the people with emergency portable water station!

Or, stop taxing people so they can take care of themselves.

Storing like 10,000 to 20,000 gallons? Why the electric still on in hurricane strength winds? What are the poles and wires wind rated for? Once stuff starts getting blown around, the wind can take lines down.

This is ridiculous. How exactly are private citizens supposed to store all this water to self fire fight? Also, the lack of water in Lahaina and California was due to poor watrr management by the local governments. There was water available but the state officials in charge chose not to turn open the valves that could supply water. Greed and stupidity are the issue.

Better rethink allowing water catchment systems FOR FREE and not billed or taxed by residents.

That's a STUPID idea. You gonna pour water on a fire?! This ain't 1864! Buy FIRE EXTINGUISHERS! I have one in EVERY BEDROOM, the Living room and KITCHEN. SMOKE DETECTORS in every BEDROOM.

Each house should make a small pond to save some rain. Or install giant tank for rain storage. For future use incase there’s fire. Stay strong California! Pray! God bless
