Tzoni Hellas the russians and many sects of orthodoxy held the faith down as Greeks and areminians were almost hunted to extinction and enslaved cause we wouldn’t breed, and many millions denied the Mohammedan ways. Greeks never forget. In these days and ages it’s the only church that’s held most of its authenticity by not going along with this new age movement which is paganism and Gnosticism in every sense of the word. But no one goes to paradise but through the Begotten Son. Glory to God. Many things have been telling me to get my house in order. God be with you

    • @Sophieliving
      @Sophieliving 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

It is called, at least in the Greek monastic rite, the 'aer'. Aer is also the word for the coverings for the chalice and diskos, but it is a different article when referring to the vestment worn by the deacon. The deacon wears it over the shoulder and it attaches to his mantia and by a loop to his right pinky.

@@TheMountAndBladerX10 no. The Roman Catholic church is in schism with the True Church of Christ because of a lot of reasons and that’s why Catholics don’t have the right way to worship God anymore. It’s only in the Orthodox Church.

Have you been to a traditional latin mass before by the way? If we are talking about preferences, i will have to say that i can engage far better with it than eastern divine liturgies. Not to say that one is better than the other, but more so that individual taste does play a role.

Today, brothers, is the Feast of the Holy Transfiguration.
Transfiguration - what is it? What did the Lord Christ say to the people on this day? What truth? What did he reveal to them through today's holy holiday? He showed today that he is a man of God, He showed it today on Mount Tabor, by being transformed in front of the disciples. His face shone like the sun and brighter than the sun. The clothes became white as snow, the Apostles fell from that great Divine light, - from the miracle, from this great and holy mystery.
Behold, He reveals His Divinity! He says he is God. He, Whom people considered to be the Teacher from Nazareth, the son of Joseph and Mary, the carpenter. Behold, He suddenly shows Himself as God, and shows that He has placed in His body all the Divine forces, all the Eternal Divine Truth, Eternal Life, Eternal Justice, all the Heavens. All God settled down and fit into a small human body. What a great and holy secret, brothers! But it is not accidental.

Are the burning incense before graven images? They should read the Second Commandment. Worshipping Icons is against the will of The Father and Lord Jesus Christ.

NDjing These are not "graven images". They are Holy Icons. We are not worshiping icons. We do not worship the wood or paint that is used to write these icons. We are honouring the Holy Saints or Holy Events that they represent and in doing so, we worship God. Maybe you should go and read what was decreed in the Seventh Ecumenical Council.

+NDjing we resolved this issue a thousand years ago during the Iconoclast period. Plenty of literature on the topic if you want to find out. We DO NOT show God the Father. Christ appeared to us in the flesh so we have seen him (us humans). Anyway, we do not worship the icon but what it represents.

+NDjing You must understand something friend.... God spoke to us in the Old Testament. The Lord God then came in the Flesh and showed us his image in the New Testament. Iconography is an ancient Jewish tradition found in ancient synagogues dating many years prior, during, as well as after Christ. There is archeological evidence of depictions of Abraham, Moses, King David, Adam, Eve, etc.etc in ancient Israel.... Remember these were the very same synagogues Jesus Christ prayed and lead in liturgical worship. You just misunderstand the scripture which is of no surprise since your SOLO Scriptura has proven itself a massive failure with your 20,000+ protestant divisions. This blasphemes the power of the Holy Spirit. It is of no surprise the East and Orthodoxy has remained True to the Faith once delivered without blemish and continues in the Holy Traditions it was handed by the Apostles of Jesus Christ.
Your 20th century schism has been deceived and has fallen away from the Church which continues to stand for 2000 years as promised. Matt 16:18.
Jesus Christ is not a liar... may our Lord open your eyes as he did mine and bring you home.
      Let us reason your accusations...
"Let my prayer be set forth before you as *INCENSE*; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice."
      -Psalms 141:2
"And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and *FRAGRANT INCENSE*: the shewbread also set they in orderupon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him."
      - 2 Chronicles 13:11
"The responsibility of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the light and the *FRAGRANT INCENSE* and the continual grain offering and the anointing oil--the responsibility of all the tabernacle and of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings."
      - Numbers 4:16
There are many more verses but hopefully you are starting to realize true worship in the TRUTH of the Holy Scripture found in the TRUTH of the Church.
Icons are Pagan??... Let us reason...
Exodus 26:1. In God’s commands to Moses concerning the tabernacle, given just a few chapters after the giving of the Ten Commandments, is this instruction: **“Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains woven of fine linen thread, and blue and purple and scarlet yarn; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them.”**A similar command with respect to the Ark of the Covenant instructed Moses to have **two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat.** God said, “And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel” (Exodus 25:22). Here are images directly connected with the presence of God, and commanded by Him.
The Devil and Paganism do not own the depictions of this world my friend... This is a lie deposed on your modern tradition created and started by Men. It is a modern, heretical tradition that is far off the narrow path of salvation.
