You missed one very important factor- maximum population limit. The number of units you can produce is limited, pretty harshly if you don't have many planets. You can conquer more planets to rise it or build space stations that rise the maximum limit by 50 or 150 (for the more expensive ones). It's pretty crucial for defensive players, who like to have a defensive response fleet for every frontier close to max cap of 300 population (maximum number of units on screen in battle for one side). You cannot build those stations along additional defense stations, so keep it in mind- for a frontier world you wanna have a defensive station, while in your more protected space you wanna have population rising stations.
Thank you for the detailed insight into how the mechanics of EaW TR works! Any chance of a New Republic guide? Other than doing Eck’s favourite tactic of stealing star destroyers with the boarding shuttle, I’m having a bit of a rough time holding off waves of big ass imperial fleets!
FotR, yes. AotR, probably not since the economy mechanics are a bit different, like supply depots and freighters. And I don't think they have the influence/infrastructure mechanic either.
How does infrastructure bonus work? I remember you talking about the lack of infrastructure having downsides, but I don't recall you mentioning when you have surplus infrastructure. How big of a surplus is needed to trigger a bonus?
Look at the planets, they will let you know what level of influence unlocks what (if that planet has unique units) essentially and sure every slot is filled up and maxed out space stations and the local infrastructure gets you the maxed out unit available like for instance balmora with those amazing war droids
Also adding to what jamesondonnell added, If you look under the infrastructure tab in a game mode, you'll see that if you are able to maintain a rating of 95% or high across all planet, you'll receive a small reduction to price and build time (-10% build time and -5% price) that can help during the early game, it may also stack with other bonuses to but I'm not sure about that. It encourages turtling a little as you build up your economy and infrastructure but most people won't benefit from it do to wanting to blitz and conquer planets out the gate and the more planets you add, the harder it is to maintain, but don't rely on it if you have a steady income either. Like EcksToo says, it's a lot of tough decisions that take time and practice.
Wait, I thought they removed the feature where putting your ships in orbit around another planet stopped the upkeep Whenever I would do that the upkeep wouldn’t change
I think it’s the level of the shipyard your building, so a lvl 1 shipyard only takes up one space, but a lvl 2 takes up 2 space and so on. But not a hundred percent sire
its extremely too easy to do that for vanilla, spam mining facilities on the planets that make u the most money and figure out which worlds are production worlds where u either have everything, or 1 or 2 types of buildings to minimize production time for ground units, and make capital building worlds only make capitals and everything else leave to other space stations to minimize time building fleets
Is there a way to set up the custom battle thing? Right now it seems like ships just pop up and then randomly start shootign at each other. I would like to be able to place one ship at each and let them fight.
Hello guys, i have one question. How can I manually set my fleet at start of the battle? When I enter the battle my whole fleet always exit hiperspace, and i saw at EAW youtubers films they set all manually
You have to put one ship in the framed slot in the orbit where the fleet is stationed. When you then move it only the framed ship will appear and then you can call in the rest
ive really really been trying to like this mod but the campaign mode feels impossible im literally playing on recruit difficulty but the AI is brutally killing me and attacking me with SSD's within the first 8 turns, and jsut taking my planets 1 by 1 the only way i seem to be able to defend my worlds is SUPER cheesing the AI and building a hypervelocity gun and running away around the map in circles while i shoot the enemy capital ships 1 by 1
This seems so interesting to play, but idk why i don't get attracted by the Thrawns Revenge Era. I just wanna fight the empire with rebels or viceversa.

Why are you not into the mods? I mean if you haven’t tested them you should really try it, I know it can be overwhelming in the beginning, but the level of detail and the quantity of content makes the time investment really worth it.
Why do you never do videos on just ground battles? A lot of modders have put in some serious work on revamping ground. There’s good stuff out there. Just find it weird you barely cover it.
If this had been about the actual product, I'd watch the rest of this. Just found out it's mod-centric, though. Bleargh... Should really have mentioned that in the title.
Thank you Charles for the guide this help out a lot for me I'm in middle of a FOR Campaign try my best to hold out against the CIS.

Build mining facilities. Dont what else to tell you.

Hmm, permission to have a vanilla+FoC take on this, so to appease gamers who just aren't into the expanded mods?
