    can this mixer be used for live tracking separate channels in a live studio? more like an audio interface.

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. This model of board does not support the sending/tracking of separate channels. It supports sub-grouping of outputs only.

    Hey there, I was hoping to record a live band via the same mixer as yours and edit everything on Logic Pro X. Is that possible?
    And if I import the sounds from the mixer, it vomes as one audio file? How can I import as multiple stems/tracks? Easier for me to edit one by one instead of as a one whole audio file?
    Hope this makes sense 😅

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That console belongs to the bar (the house sound system). I think the only recording you may be able to get from it would be the FOH mix (2 channel if using stereo), but in one large file. The kind of recording you are talking about (and needing) is called multi-track. Multi-track recording is available on digital consoles; the Yamaha console in the video is analog (though, using digital effects). I'm not aware of any way to get a multi-tracked recording from that console.

    What system do they use in PA 2 or 3 ways? greetings from Argentina

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They use a 2-way system. The crossovers are built into the subs.

  • @tonirossello7434
    @tonirossello7434 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    In the chanels of the aux 5 and 6, can you have effects in on and monitors in the chanels 5-6 in the same time? What maximum number of monitors can you use when you have to use effects?

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The effects are always available using Aux 5/6, as long as the "Aux 5 / Aux 6" switch is NOT enabled for that channel. Effects can be run at the same time monitors are connected to Aux 5/6. However, effects and Aux 5/6 monitors cannot be run at the same time on the same channel. Which means, one (or a group of channels) can have effects running (using Aux 5/6) while another channel (or group of channels) is using monitors in Aux 5/6... You will need to tell the channel (by using the Aux 5/6 switch) how to use Aux 5/6... as monitors or as effects.

    Hi sir,can i know what reverb and delay are u using? How about the send effect level from channel?

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The delay and reverb are incorporated into the mixing console; they were not an outboard device. The reverb used was "cathedral" with around a 50ms delay and a 4 second sustain. However, the actual time of sustain for the reverb was controlled by the effects fader. The delay was only used on a few songs.

    Hi! Just wanna ask how do you feed your subs on mono set up? Aux feed, matrix, etc.? Thanks

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The board is setup with a L and R, however, i don't pan any channels or sub-groups (i.e. same signal going to L is going to R). The L output of the board runs to the L sub, and then a jumper is connected from the sub to the top; same setup on R side. They are using the xover in the subs (~120hz). This is a very basic setup; it's the house system, and it's usually best to keep setups simple due to the various skill levels of people that may be mixing.

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this event (it's the house system; 2-way), the internal crossovers on the subs are being used. Crossovers are fixed at 100hz.

    how do you setup compression for each channel, its a bit confuse on that side. Thanks

    • @stageleftaudio
      @stageleftaudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The compression "control" on this board is a single knob. You don't have much of any control over the compression with this board. Basically, all you can control is how much compression the input channel receives. This console does not provide for any other control over compression other than how much is applied. It's a very rudimentary compression.

      Start with reading the manuals (available online) for the Lexicon and Yamaha units. Many times, manuals will have diagrams explaining how to connect them to mixing boards. We use the Lexicon units and have a short video on how to use effects in live sound. Thank you for your comment.

      You're welcome. The Yamaha MGP series is good for certain venues / bands. We've never used an MGP board in our inventory. We used to run the MG series (non digital effects version), for years for mid-sized events; it did very well.

    I noticed in ALL of your videos you all are using ANALOG BOARDS . Do you NOT wish to become a slave to the Digital Craze ? I myself have the Midas Venus 16 /24 /32 Boards and I use them More than ANY of the M32's , X32;s I have . For Outboard gear we have two TC M one XL , and two D-Two , 8 Channels of DBX 1074 , 8 channels of DBX 1046 , Tascam CD , Clear Com All in one rack . Simple . We are using RCF Mains and Monitors all Powered. I see so many new sound company's go out and Buy All of the NEW toys and a year later they are gone . Enjoy watching your Videos .

      We use a Presonus for smaller shows (and for vocal only events), but use all analog for larger shows. Analog is easier to use when there's multiple bands involved. As well, many house-systems (where we mix - as in this video) use analog gear. There's a time and place for digital. Thank you for your comment.
