I live in Mesa, Arizona and I just planted 40 Jack Fruit Trees in 4"x4"x14" tall containers. I have around 400 trees of lots of different types of trees growing. Things like Jaboticaba, Ice Cream Bean, Mangos, Canistel, Bananas , Allspice, 26 varieties of Figs trees, and lots of other types of trees.
I watered mine twice a day. In Arizona heat its just important to make sure they get afternoon shade. Probably not more water than sprinkling a normal grass yard though probably.

Do banana trees need a lot of water?

Jackfruit is truly a unique fruit. Too expensive but I can see why. It takes so long to get a grown tree.
