You’re very misinformed, and giving others incorrect information. Spray on Asbestos for insulation applications was banned in 1973 by the EPA. Popcorn ceilings contains asbestos were still used until the EPA expanded the ban of asbestos in 1978. Not only that, sellers were allowed to continue selling and use up there existing stockpiles of the stuff. Which could have been well past 1978.

I live in Mesa, Arizona and I just planted 40 Jack Fruit Trees in 4"x4"x14" tall containers. I have around 400 trees of lots of different types of trees growing. Things like Jaboticaba, Ice Cream Bean, Mangos, Canistel, Bananas , Allspice, 26 varieties of Figs trees, and lots of other types of trees.

I have removed a lot of popcorn in my time. It can be a mess but certinaly the folks commenting on this below are right. It's much easier wetting it down and scraping it with a wide drywall knife. With possible asbestos I have double covered the floor so that once you remove the first layer of plastic, what you missed is captured on the second. But usually that and masking off the walls is an overkill. I have found the more water the better. I use my Graco paint sprayer with a big tip to put on the water. A big pump sprayer would take a while but also work. I duct tape a large drywall knife to an extension pole and scrape from the ground. It just peals right off. True you walk in and over the newly formed mud. Once wet you can scrape a whole living room in under a half hour. Usually it is unpainted and not even primed underneath so you end up scraping a little of the original drywall mud off the seams but touch up mud and a light texture can easily fix this. Keep in mind, the original drywall contractor knew it was going to be popcorn, so it is seldom finished for smooth ceilings before the popcorn spraying went on. Some mud work will always be necessary.

Oh boy. That tool is not designed to remove popcorn ceiling, which most likely has asbestos and should not be attempted to be removed without proper safety equipment such as respirators and ventilation fans. This video should be removed from youtube.

Why bother with canned lights in a crawl space. Just put in plastic boxes with porcelain base/socket and screw in multidirectional LEDs.

This is a Drywall sander Not a Popcorn Sander. After Removing popcorn by wetting it and scraping it off with a blade attached to a shop vac, will make smoothing the drywall in prep for mud. And sanding mud in between coats. Just saying.
