    Thanks for this! I just used this as a guide for swapping to a 12mm telephoto lens (I have one pointed at a bird feeder and I wanted to zoom in more). Everything went smooth. I can't reiterate enough how important it was to pull out the excess glue from the threads of the lens socket. One other tidbit I'll throw out there - if you need to reset your camera, you might have to take it apart again, put the original lens on, and adjust focus through trial and error in order to re-scan the setup barcode - so keep your original lens!

      Do you have a link to the lens you used? And how much it zooms in?

      @Krayjer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neoylloh I bought a 3 lens kit that came with a 6mm, 8mm, and 12mm lenses because I didn't know exactly how much zoom I would need. And after I posted this, I ended up switching from the 12mm to the 8mm, so I was really happy I had the kit. Here's the one I got: www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDTOU9C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2WpVDbS9NYBCX

    Before trying to force out the lens that is hot glued in, I recommend getting a hair dryer, setting to hottest and slowest air settings, and blowing hot air over the lense area for a bit. This will help soften the glue some, making it much easer to loosen off.

    • @Dudleydogg

      I used hair Dryer as suggested and was able to unscrew the lens by hand, Came right out.

    Much easier to just pop off the black ring and rubber gasket around the lens. No disassembly required! You can also focus by turning the lens out for extreme closeup.

    • @aramb
      @aramb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nodnarbaz not sure where I'd be able to post that. It looks like video from a WyzeCam V2. The lens doesn't really degrade the quality beyond the modest quality afforded by the compression. In short, it looks like WyzeCam video/stills. It probably does reduce the amount of light hitting the sensor. Nighttime video is pretty noisy. It was just a hack so I could peek at trains going by without having to climb on a chair to get the right viewing angle. Cheap entertainment.

    OK, slvrscookie, now let's figure out how to get inside the V3. Looks tough. I thought that screw on the bottom was maybe how but it takes off the base to attach the cam to a camera mount. Nice feature. Love the new V3, really very nice with great night vision. But an external antenna plug is needed. Please let us know if you open one.

    i know this is an old post. But here is a tip.... don't rely on your fingernails! Pretty painful to watch, and waste a lot of time. Use a small thin flat blade screw driver (or similar) and gently pry the tabs apart. Oh and try and be a bit more gentle! Its like watching a gorilla take that thing apart! Not to mention you are using metal appliances and touching the internals. easy way to zap the circuit! using a grounding strap on your wrist will also help.

I'm hoping to change my PanCam 2.6mm for a 6mm just received as Pan Cam is too bloody wide for a pantilt camera. As is w 120d field ... the pan function covers 360 in four moves (guess thats good) I Would REALLY love to complete this mission from the front w/o disassembly but ... do not expect that to be possible. BTW people... these lenses are widely on AZN as they interchange with gopro and most drones

I want to mount one of these cameras outside and do not feel the "outdoor" housings sold on ebay and amazon are adequate, can the guts of the camera be installed in a regular cctv security camera housing? I came across a few housings on aliexpress that say they accept 38x38mm lens board, I just dont know enough about these to know if it will fit properly.
