- We drove the ST Octane Academy last year, but really wanted time in the Mustangs. So Ford invited us back to experience a full day of track time in the Mustang GT. Join us as we go through their 1-Day race school and share the fundamentals of driving on track.

It might be advertising for Ford but the fact remains: you get to learn so much and become a better/safer/faster driver. And you get to do that in a real sports car :)
I often forget just how beautiful Utah is.
Great video! I went there for the GT350 Track Attack a few months ago and the instructors were nothing short of amazing. Even though I was driving a GT350, those "regular" GTs were no joke. Plus if you go for the 2 day school, you get to drive a race prepped Boss 302 on slicks.
If you haven't been, go to the Ron Fellows/Spring Mountain in Pahrump,NV....they're really great there too!! Corvette fun!

I did the one day Mustang class as an extension of the Octane Academy...worth every single penny to attend. Bonus...hearing about a half a dozen V8's starting at once in a garage..priceless.

so why after buying a new focus st and a new gt mustang have i not been invited to this event?
Focus ST - need to call Ford Performance to setup. Mustang GT's aren't eligible. I'm referring to the free day with car purchase. You're able to sign up and go on your own dime, of course.
Love that track - haven't been out since March... I have to get at least one more session in there this year!
The next NASA event is the first weekend of August. ;)

+Chance Hales the last time I was out there was with my magnetic grey 2015 mustang ecoboost (car 124, hpde 2). I've since traded that in for a 2016 GT PP.
I remember that car. I have some photos of it. THere are half a dozen or so.

This Ford Racing one-day class is $1,695, they have a two-day that is $3,195.
They have something called Wide Open Wednesday ($25), where you can just tear around that track for 30min... in YOUR car. That's what I'm talkin'bout.
I wish Ford offered this sort of thing in Europe.
Even though you guys felt like walking billboards for Ford, there is no shiny blue oval on the Mustang. The only Ford logo is an obscure, black image right above the rear view mirror, and it blends in with the upper windshield tint band.

Me too. And you get to drive a real sports car. We all think we are so good drivers but as they say, you always learn new tricks and can get better.
The only issue to me is the location. Is far away from where I live

I'm an oncoming college student who can't afford a new car as his first car. I am looking for something used, fuel efficient, but also something thanks enjoyable to drive that only costs around 4k or less. Any suggestions?
And also something that won't cost a ton when it comes to maintenance.
Get a motorcycle. For tha price range you can get a lot better performance vehicle than you can with a car.

They're both terrible drivers and just now realizing it during their first time on track. lol
If you follow our work you'll note that the guys have been on many tracks, but never enter a situation assuming they are amazing drivers and can't learn more. We're always looking for extra things to take from instructors, at schools like this one or during our time in Europe on the Ring and Spa. Thanks for watching!

I realize you were going slowly and around cones, but as a point, driving a car with a roll cage while wearing a harness and NOT wearing a helmet is potentially a very dangerous combination. The instructors should know better.
