As a 6 month carnivore. I WAS a type 2 diabetic. With high protein, 0 carb, moderate fat. 16:8 IF, Increased activity from sedentary to 10k steps a day in small increments. Low/moderate strength training with resistance bands and dumb bells due to spine and joint issues. Without carbs no longer have joint pain. All these factors, I have lost 30lbs, went from 15 medications to 5 ( 1 blood thinner, blood pressure, gabapentin for never damage in my legs from PAD, and a statin.) Non diabetic. Cardiovascular disease has improved due to more activity and better circulation.. Thank you for all your content. In the process of adding 100 g of carbs encompassing my exercise format. At 50. Life has just begun. If I can have these results, anyone can.
@@CameronDayDYT I was for a month. But with my carnivore lifestyle. My cholesterol went from 43 to 125. My cardiologist almost had a stroke. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 So due to his reaction, I will give my statin, a second chance. If no better results next lab work, in the the trash they go.
Love the interview! I’m reading your book and so is my 76 year old mom. I’m a 54 year old woman, and I increased my protein to a minimum of 130 g per day beginning in July, on the path lose some fat, and gain muscle. Lifting four times per week and In 6 weeks (based on two in body scans) I gained almost half pound of skeletal muscle and went from 19.6 % body fat to 17.8 % body fat. My weight has stayed the same 136 pounds. I also supplement with creatine daily. Feeling fantastic. All carb and sugar cravings are gone. Protein for the win.
You can do it, you just have to prioritize it. For breakfast I have three eggs and a whey protein shake with fairlife milk, that is 48 grams just at breakfast. Then 4oz of fish chicken or beef at lunch and dinner, oikos Greek yogurt with berries or cacao for dessert. I’ve found I don’t eat as many carbs because I’m full from the protein.

When I count my daily protein intake, I only count animal sources, not vegetable/grain sources. I don't remember who I saw on youtube touting this, but it was a bodybuilder, and I saw the wisdom of that method to insure I got more complete amino acids.
I take the same approach. If I were to combine bread and peanut butter, that would make it a complete protein, but it's not something I do.... as in factor that complete protein in.
Yeah, once you realize the proteome of earth is in the billions, you stop thinking in terms of 'protein' and start thinking in proportional amino acid profiles. I mean wheat alone has like 700+ known proteins, but I don't think anyone is touting gluten as beneficial.
@jamieandrick6541 because when you combine beans and rice you get all the amino acids for complete protein. Have you ever seen vegan bodybuilders? Do you think they don’t count any of their plant sources?
I have listened to Dr Donald Layman enough times, as well as Dr Gabrielle Lyon, that convinced me to switch from OMAD to at least 2MAD approach w/r eating, the key factor was spreading my protein intake. I have tried 3 + meals and it's not practical. One way around it would be protein shakes. But I prefer to eat my kcals rather than drink then, for now. Not closing the door to the above. Age 84, and your counsel has gotten me to gradually double my protein recently. Last year I fasted for five days thinking it would be beneficial to my knee joint. Now I understand that I cannot risk losing muscle mass. I’m doing resistance with light weights but lots of reps. Thank you so much for your data driven conversations. This has to be the best podcast I’ve seen so far thank you, during lockdown I got up to nearly 20 stone (280lbs) thankfully something inside me said enough and I’m now hovering just under 12 stone (168lbs) I wish I had known all this at the start of losing weight as I lost lots of muscle too thankfully for the past 6 months I’ve been resistance training (weights and body weight) and I’ve seen a massive difference and it’s down to people like you thank you

Wow!!! Thank-you for this edu. Amino acids - so much to learn!!! I'm 3 months changing over to carnivore & additional fat intake for thyroiditis. I'm female, 73, low income. I'm backsliden - I guess because I cut back on eating the fat. Some carnivores recommend eating "a stick of butter" a day!!! That's the only fat recommendation. Don said 30-40% of daily diet in fat? HOW DO WE EAT THIS MUCH FAT??? WHAT FATS ARE BEST? I've gotten off of vegies, fruit, dairy, coffee, alcohol, wheat, gluten products, night shades recently for an elimination diet. Only eating lettuce, onions, corn tortillas, broth, gravy, bean dip, corn chips & mostly proteins, alot of hamburger. Besides all the thyroiditis symptoms - I have little to no energy. I run out strength/energy & can hardly make it back to my aptmt. It's criminal how much health data we've been fed - since the 50s that is bogus & just guessing??? Say nothing of the fake "green agenda", now destroying EU farmers, our food sources, elites want to feed us bugs, while they eat beef? NO WAY. Excellent discussion.... after 10yrs as a Raw Vegan Fruitarian, because it seemed such a healthy, beautiful, natural, simple, environmentally friendly, kind, peaceful, respectful + compassionate way of eating, I'm slowly getting my mind around the fact that I may have been following the completely wrong dietary pathway for 10yrs and I have probably been horribly protein and essential amino acid "deficient" for the past decade... together with many other potential nutrition deficiencies.... lately, I've had my nose to the grindstone studying what the optimal diet might be for me, for health + athletic performance, and I have been experimenting with meat (mainly beef + chicken), fish, simple starchless vegetables + a little fruit... it's a massive mental, emotional + physical adjustment but I don't think I'm ever going back to a Raw Vegan Fruitarian diet...

@14:35 As a metabolic health coach, I agree 100%. If you look at our bodies as cars and food as fuel, you'll see a pattern emerge in this society. Too many people are consuming too much "race car fuel" (carbs) without doing race car activites like high intensity exercise. Make the fuel match what the engine is asked to do, and you'll have little to no issues with the metabolism at-large.

Question: getting knee replacement so I will be mainly “sedentary” for 4 weeks. Best macros not to gain fat but maintain muscle…prioritizing protein but worrying about carbs.
I'll agree protein and fat is important but we don't need carbs if we are getting the amount of protein and fat we need. That's where gluconeogenesis comes into play. I'm Type 1 diabetic 47 years I don't touch carbs except for low bloodsugars period. I get 135 grams protein and 135 grams fat about 2,000 calories. I get 30,000 steps walking, weight and mini trampoline.
I am currently pretty lean - I am eating about 2200 calories (155g protein, 110g carbs and 110g of fat in 3 meals). I do strength training 4 times a week with some cardio on my rest days. my goal is to actually gain muscle but it seems like I am stuck at a point where I cannot gain weight - I have decent muscle mass and I am pretty strong for my current weight (174 pounds), but I want to gain a few more pounds so I have increased my protein intake up to 200g, about 150g of carbs or more and fat stayed around the same which was 110g. Since my macros increased I had to introduce a 4th meal in order to make it easier to consume all those calories. I have noticed a bit of a strength and size increase in just about 1 week but the big question I have is: let's say we keep protein at 200g (since I should not be consuming any less than that) what would be the next best macro nutrient to increase without having a negative impact? I understand that increasing carb intake to 50g+ per meal would be detrimental to my metabolism because of the glucose spike, etc. If I increase fat intake, that will place me at a risk of high apo b and lipids being affected negatively. keeping all that in mind, what macro nutrient would you recommend increasing if I want to gain muscle and size? if am burning 1000 calories day including exercise, how can I achieve a caloric surplus without increasing either fat or carbs? what would be the best approach?
When do you think we should exercise? Right now I always exercise fasted and eat a protein meal shortly after I exercise. It seems to work for me. Does it really matter?
Thats pretty much been my protocol forever. There really is no fixed anabolic window, but as Dr. Don has mentioned in another Dr. Lyon podcast. It’s crucial for the Leucine/protein intake within a 30 min. window for optimal protein synthesis at that first meal, however that might look for you.
@@chuckleezodiac24 For me personally,Yes. I like to workout first thing fasted (not intentionally) in the morning then eat shortly after......and maybe walk etc. later on in the day. I don’t do well eating before lifting or Hitt.

It’s interesting the professor mentions the study saying that fat can cause insulin resistance. I’ve read that study and it’s specific types of fats. It's short chain fatty acids. It’s seed oils and all oils high in omega 6. This effect was not found with high quality fats. Poly unsaturated fats. Olive oils and even coconut oil. Seen oils are not high on the glycemic index…. But they do cause a spike in insulin. Which over time causes metabolic issues. I read a paper recently that said “simply smelling the evaporated fumes from canola oil can cause DNA mutations and cancers”. High quality oils do not have this effect.
I would love to know if i can count hemp protein as part of my total protein? I can not have whey or egg, so i add a smoothie to my morning meat protein breakfast that has hemp protein and collagen. Great video so far! Thanks

You often refer as daily requirement of protein / kg ( say I go with 1.5 gm/kg) but then make blank statement on meals such as 30 gm/meal.would it be better to also refer to meals based on body weight? For example, I weight 52 kg ( 170 cm height) and my husband weights 100kg (185cm height) . At the table it is very obvious he eats much more food than I do. So, realistically, what is the protein I should eat vs the protein he should eat per meal?
It would be so responsible if these study’s would test Fresh milled wheat flour bread and see if it spikes insulin. Also I do 60g carb 110g fat 100g protein
I’m 70 y old overweight woman. My diet is mostly carbs becuz red meat causes horrible low back pain. Milk thistle relieves it. If I do 60 grams protein it will sit in my stomach for hours and I will be unable to walk. I was thinking protein shakes instead. Maybe my stomach acid is low… 😢
I really like this guy but going to disagree with the statement "30-40-50% fat diet" is a high fat diet. As someone who ate a whole food veg based diet, the carbs gave me insulin resistance and 35 excess pounds of fat, along with NAFLD, high triglycerides, high BP, inflammation and more. It has only been with 70% fat and 30% protein of the same caloric intake that I have been able to reduce and reverse all of my metabolic disorders. All excess weight lost, non-alc. fatty liver gone, triglycerides at lowest end of normal range, chronic inflammation near zero, BP normal. Even and 80/20 works but I prefer 70/30 digestively. I do not fear diabetes at higher fat. We need at least that much with protein. In my case it is about 1:1 gram ratio intake from fat and protein. The protein meets my exact needs of daily protein intake for my exercise and strength gains. I am actually surprised to hear him saying fat is the culprit leading to diabetes. I actually believe that in fact it is the carbs that do that. Because when I ate high carbs, I was fat but when I eat high fat and low carbs I am the exact opposite. It reversed the metabolic disorder.
I have Hashimoto's as I have researched how to change my lifestyle, diet, stress reduction & sleep. The majority stress low animal protein, eliminating gluten, dairy, & eggs. So what plant protein souces are better? Some Registered dietitians tout a high carb, high fruit eating plan. Ugh, this just is so confusing. I am currently working out for hypertrophy and this diet advice contradicts what i knowxabout building muscle. Anyone insight would be appreciated.
A lot of those "experts", especially on the internet are quacks. I have Hashimoto myself and have zeroooo problems with grains, gluten, dairy eggs or animal proteins. It is highly individual. Among Hashimoto patients around half actually have also celiac disease/ problems with gluten. Hence it is often recommened to avoid it. Eggs and dairy can also be a potential allergic food. But as long as YOU don´t react to those foods there is no reason to avoid any. Some carnivore doctors will tell you, the carnivore diet heals all autoimune diseases and on the contrary some vegans claim the same. Whenever someone tells you he has asolution for autoimune diseases be careful! No one knows why people really have hashimoto - there are a lot of theories but none of them is proven yet. If you think you do not tolerate certain foods you can test yourself for casein, lactose, eggs, gluten, fructose , sorbitol etc. or you could eliminate basically everything which could be allergic and eat mostly meat, sweet potatoes, white rice, lettuce and other well tolerated foods for 2-3 weeks and then introduce one food after another back in. this can be even better than special blood test, as those could be somtimes wrong. Please listen to your own body whether you feel good with certain foods or not, but do not eliminate food groups without good reasoning.
I look forward to the day when the food we buy has the specific amino acids listed. This might shock the WFPB people into seeing how incomplete some of what they eat is and how focused they need to be to ensure completeness is assured.
The chefs are quite lean but I learned it's because they are on their feet almost 8 to 9 hours. Although they eat every food type they eat by tasting that's all and because they work with food they know how to eat and nutritional value of foods
Question: How much time should there be between meals to get benefit from triggering muscle protein synthesis? You say that if I eat more than 60g protein at a meal the amount over 60g doesn't have much benefit. So if I move that extra amount to an additional meal how long do I have to wait to eat that additional meal?
it´s not that easy to answer. best would be to spread out evenly. Depending on the amount of fiber and fat in your meal it takes longer or shorter to digest. 60g of whey protein with water are absorbed much faster than beans, veggies and eggs...
I'm putting on muscle just fine with the bulk of my protein in one late day meal. It's crazy that he continues to think that the adaptable body will have little use of protein eaten past the first meal or a bulk within a few hours. He won't bother to study it but somehow his theory is accurate. 🙄
probably. someone like Paul Saladino, "the Carnivore MD," surfs 4-5 hrs per day, works out and eats 300g of carbs per day. but Prof Tim Noakes, a marathon runner, used to push a High Carb diet for years -- until he got diabetes. now he's into fat/protein and low carbs.

It probably acts as a barrier in your cells in which extra fat acts as an extra layer preventing insulin from actually reaching into the cell. This is just a theory by my professor in college studied this and I believe that is what his hypothesis was
My appetite isn't controlled on 1.6g/kg. 2/kg seems to be about the minimum for me at age 59, light activity. I like to eat at least 100g fat. I dont eat plants because of autoimmune and sugar addiction. Beans? Are you joking? What about lectins and other compounds that attack the gut? Greins? Sheesh. Joint pain on a plate. Is carnivore a valid way of eating to the 2 of you?
I’ve been adhering to carnivore for 5 months now and feel absolutely great!! The 3 or 4 times I’ve chosen to eat a meal or treat that includes sugar and/or flour-I feel ‘off’ for 2-3 days afterward. So I definitely feel my best now by eating only meats, eggs, butter & a little high fat dairy! From several other TH-cam videos I watched, Dr. Layman’s research has resulted in him believing daily carb intake up to 100 is fine so long as you’re eating at least .8 kg of protein per lb. of your ideal body weight
Collagen comes with animal meals so why would he say its a terrible protein?! Taking collagen supplements may be a waste of money, but I continue to eat it as it comes from my meals, such as my home made bone broth. My dogs now have to share fat anf gristle with me. lol Can't imagine it is not good for you even if we dont know the mechanism!
But if bread is toasted then the sugar is burnt , still carb but not so much anymore. So just eat toast bread and not the white soft part of the bread. European prefer a good quality crust on the baguette and that is how they distinguishable good quality bread from American sponge bread.😂😂
I am not a doctor, but I feel that he is wrong, I believe if you eat lots of fruits without fat once a day wait that insulin will start to work at least 2-3 hours, i believe that all of the sugar will go to your glycogen , I believe you should not mix high fat and high carb in the same time, if you eat fat alone that fat will be use as energy if you eat fat with lots of carbs that fat will be store as fat.
It's frustrating, as well, that media will take headlines like that and run with it and publish the misleading headline and the lay public has poor health literacy and little to no understanding of how to read and evaluate quality research to tease out the problems in the study design nor are aware if underlying biases or agendas that frame and shape the results

How can you ingest and digest that much protein? I’m asking seriously. I struggle to get less than half that!

This has to be the best podcast I’ve seen so far thank you, during lockdown I got up to nearly 20 stone (280lbs) thankfully something inside me said enough and I’m now hovering just under 12 stone (168lbs) I wish I had known all this at the start of losing weight as I lost lots of muscle too thankfully for the past 6 months I’ve been resistance training (weights and body weight) and I’ve seen a massive difference and it’s down to people like you thank you

I've gotten off of vegies, fruit, dairy, coffee, alcohol, wheat, gluten products, night shades recently for an elimination diet. Only eating lettuce, onions, corn tortillas, broth, gravy, bean dip, corn chips & mostly proteins, alot of hamburger. Besides all the thyroiditis symptoms - I have little to no energy. I run out strength/energy & can hardly make it back to my aptmt. It's criminal how much health data we've been fed - since the 50s that is bogus & just guessing??? Say nothing of the fake "green agenda", now destroying EU farmers, our food sources, elites want to feed us bugs, while they eat beef?

Excellent discussion.... after 10yrs as a Raw Vegan Fruitarian, because it seemed such a healthy, beautiful, natural, simple, environmentally friendly, kind, peaceful, respectful + compassionate way of eating, I'm slowly getting my mind around the fact that I may have been following the completely wrong dietary pathway for 10yrs and I have probably been horribly protein and essential amino acid "deficient" for the past decade... together with many other potential nutrition deficiencies.... lately, I've had my nose to the grindstone studying what the optimal diet might be for me, for health + athletic performance, and I have been experimenting with meat (mainly beef + chicken), fish, simple starchless vegetables + a little fruit... it's a massive mental, emotional + physical adjustment but I don't think I'm ever going back to a Raw Vegan Fruitarian diet...

If you look at our bodies as cars and food as fuel, you'll see a pattern emerge in this society. Too many people are consuming too much "race car fuel" (carbs) without doing race car activites like high intensity exercise.
Make the fuel match what the engine is asked to do, and you'll have little to no issues with the metabolism at-large.

Question: getting knee replacement so I will be mainly “sedentary” for 4 weeks. Best macros not to gain fat but maintain muscle…prioritizing protein but worrying about carbs.
I'll agree protein and fat is important but we don't need carbs if we are getting the amount of protein and fat we need. That's where gluconeogenesis comes into play. I'm Type 1 diabetic 47 years I don't touch carbs except for low bloodsugars period. I get 135 grams protein and 135 grams fat about 2,000 calories. I get 30,000 steps walking, weight and mini trampoline.

I am currently pretty lean - I am eating about 2200 calories (155g protein, 110g carbs and 110g of fat in 3 meals). I do strength training 4 times a week with some cardio on my rest days. my goal is to actually gain muscle but it seems like I am stuck at a point where I cannot gain weight - I have decent muscle mass and I am pretty strong for my current weight (174 pounds), but I want to gain a few more pounds so I have increased my protein intake up to 200g, about 150g of carbs or more and fat stayed around the same which was 110g. Since my macros increased I had to introduce a 4th meal in order to make it easier to consume all those calories. I have noticed a bit of a strength and size increase in just about 1 week but the big question I have is: let's say we keep protein at 200g (since I should not be consuming any less than that) what would be the next best macro nutrient to increase without having a negative impact? I understand that increasing carb intake to 50g+ per meal would be detrimental to my metabolism because of the glucose spike, etc. If I increase fat intake, that will place me at a risk of high apo b and lipids being affected negatively. keeping all that in mind, what macro nutrient would you recommend increasing if I want to gain muscle and size?
if am burning 1000 calories day including exercise, how can I achieve a caloric surplus without increasing either fat or carbs? what would be the best approach?

When do you think we should exercise? Right now I always exercise fasted and eat a protein meal shortly after I exercise. It seems to work for me. Does it really matter?
Same approach, works for me as well.
Thats pretty much been my protocol forever. There really is no fixed anabolic window, but as Dr. Don has mentioned in another Dr. Lyon podcast. It’s crucial for the Leucine/protein intake within a 30 min. window for optimal protein synthesis at that first meal, however that might look for you.

It’s interesting the professor mentions the study saying that fat can cause insulin resistance. I’ve read that study and it’s specific types of fats. It's short chain fatty acids. It’s seed oils and all oils high in omega 6.
This effect was not found with high quality fats. Poly unsaturated fats. Olive oils and even coconut oil.
Seen oils are not high on the glycemic index…. But they do cause a spike in insulin. Which over time causes metabolic issues.
I read a paper recently that said “simply smelling the evaporated fumes from canola oil can cause DNA mutations and cancers”.
High quality oils do not have this effect.

Great interview as always. Could you Dr Lyon or Dr Layman, or someone clarify one point for me? You often refer as daily requirement of protein / kg ( say I go with 1.5 gm/kg) but then make blank statement on meals such as 30 gm/meal.would it be better to also refer to meals based on body weight? For example, I weight 52 kg ( 170 cm height) and my husband weights 100kg (185cm height) . At the table it is very obvious he eats much more food than I do. So, realistically, what is the protein I should eat vs the protein he should eat per meal?

I’m 70 y old overweight woman. My diet is mostly carbs becuz red meat causes horrible low back pain. Milk thistle relieves it. If I do 60 grams protein it will sit in my stomach for hours and I will be unable to walk. I was thinking protein shakes instead. Maybe my stomach acid is low… 😢

I really like this guy but going to disagree with the statement "30-40-50% fat diet" is a high fat diet. As someone who ate a whole food veg based diet, the carbs gave me insulin resistance and 35 excess pounds of fat, along with NAFLD, high triglycerides, high BP, inflammation and more.
It has only been with 70% fat and 30% protein of the same caloric intake that I have been able to reduce and reverse all of my metabolic disorders. All excess weight lost, non-alc. fatty liver gone, triglycerides at lowest end of normal range, chronic inflammation near zero, BP normal. Even and 80/20 works but I prefer 70/30 digestively. I do not fear diabetes at higher fat. We need at least that much with protein. In my case it is about 1:1 gram ratio intake from fat and protein. The protein meets my exact needs of daily protein intake for my exercise and strength gains. I am actually surprised to hear him saying fat is the culprit leading to diabetes. I actually believe that in fact it is the carbs that do that. Because when I ate high carbs, I was fat but when I eat high fat and low carbs I am the exact opposite. It reversed the metabolic disorder.

I have Hashimoto's as I have researched how to change my lifestyle, diet, stress reduction & sleep. The majority stress low animal protein, eliminating gluten, dairy, & eggs. So what plant protein souces are better? Some Registered dietitians tout a high carb, high fruit eating plan. Ugh, this just is so confusing. I am currently working out for hypertrophy and this diet advice contradicts what i knowxabout building muscle. Anyone insight would be appreciated.
A lot of those "experts", especially on the internet are quacks. I have Hashimoto myself and have zeroooo problems with grains, gluten, dairy eggs or animal proteins. It is highly individual. Among Hashimoto patients around half actually have also celiac disease/ problems with gluten. Hence it is often recommened to avoid it. Eggs and dairy can also be a potential allergic food. But as long as YOU don´t react to those foods there is no reason to avoid any.
Some carnivore doctors will tell you, the carnivore diet heals all autoimune diseases and on the contrary some vegans claim the same.
Whenever someone tells you he has asolution for autoimune diseases be careful! No one knows why people really have hashimoto - there are a lot of theories but none of them is proven yet.
If you think you do not tolerate certain foods you can test yourself for casein, lactose, eggs, gluten, fructose , sorbitol etc. or you could eliminate basically everything which could be allergic and eat mostly meat, sweet potatoes, white rice, lettuce and other well tolerated foods for 2-3 weeks and then introduce one food after another back in. this can be even better than special blood test, as those could be somtimes wrong.
Please listen to your own body whether you feel good with certain foods or not, but do not eliminate food groups without good reasoning.
You should look into the carnivore diet. So many people healing from it. Just a thought

This might shock the WFPB people into seeing how incomplete some of what they eat is and how focused they need to be to ensure completeness is assured.
The chefs are quite lean but I learned it's because they are on their feet almost 8 to 9 hours. Although they eat every food type they eat by tasting that's all and because they work with food they know how to eat and nutritional value of foods
Question: How much time should there be between meals to get benefit from triggering muscle protein synthesis? You say that if I eat more than 60g protein at a meal the amount over 60g doesn't have much benefit. So if I move that extra amount to an additional meal how long do I have to wait to eat that additional meal?
it´s not that easy to answer. best would be to spread out evenly. Depending on the amount of fiber and fat in your meal it takes longer or shorter to digest. 60g of whey protein with water are absorbed much faster than beans, veggies and eggs...
I believe that in prior podcasts they both have said that you want to spread the doses by at least 4-5 hours.

I'm putting on muscle just fine with the bulk of my protein in one late day meal. It's crazy that he continues to think that the adaptable body will have little use of protein eaten past the first meal or a bulk within a few hours. He won't bother to study it but somehow his theory is accurate. 🙄

probably. someone like Paul Saladino, "the Carnivore MD," surfs 4-5 hrs per day, works out and eats 300g of carbs per day. but Prof Tim Noakes, a marathon runner, used to push a High Carb diet for years -- until he got diabetes. now he's into fat/protein and low carbs.
@@chuckleezodiac24 what is high carbs? i dont know how saladino would look if he didnt surf for 5 hours a day. some people just have faster metabolism, they dont have to run marathons to lose weight. i dont think 120-150 gr of carbs is high for a relatively active hard gainer. but i am not a scientist so would like to know scientific position on that.

Exactly what I was thinking. Makes no sense.
It probably acts as a barrier in your cells in which extra fat acts as an extra layer preventing insulin from actually reaching into the cell. This is just a theory by my professor in college studied this and I believe that is what his hypothesis was

I’ve been adhering to carnivore for 5 months now and feel absolutely great!! The 3 or 4 times I’ve chosen to eat a meal or treat that includes sugar and/or flour-I feel ‘off’ for 2-3 days afterward. So I definitely feel my best now by eating only meats, eggs, butter & a little high fat dairy! From several other TH-cam videos I watched, Dr. Layman’s research has resulted in him believing daily carb intake up to 100 is fine so long as you’re eating at least .8 kg of protein per lb. of your ideal body weight

Collagen comes with animal meals so why would he say its a terrible protein?! Taking collagen supplements may be a waste of money, but I continue to eat it as it comes from my meals, such as my home made bone broth.

But if bread is toasted then the sugar is burnt , still carb but not so much anymore. So just eat toast bread and not the white soft part of the bread. European prefer a good quality crust on the baguette and that is how they distinguishable good quality bread from American sponge bread.😂😂
I am not a doctor, but I feel that he is wrong, I believe if you eat lots of fruits without fat once a day wait that insulin will start to work at least 2-3 hours, i believe that all of the sugar will go to your glycogen ,
I believe you should not mix high fat and high carb in the same time, if you eat fat alone that fat will be use as energy if you eat fat with lots of carbs that fat will be store as fat.
