I can see that this a bit more flexible...but we had the layer emitter since ages.
As said, we have way more options now but the general use of at least text was possible.

I noticed that in this video your solid layer with the Form plug in on it is set to 'Screen'. As far as I can tell this doesn't happen automatically when Form is applied to a solid layer, so I think you forgot to mention that step

My Particle Density Faces at 100% isn't full white like yours and I can't figure out why

Without more information, it's hard to tell what the issue might be. Perhaps you don't have large enough particles?
