It is crazy that we have 95% of the players going for Howa and Archmage and we get this interaction deleted, I would understand a nerf, but a complete deletion makes much less sense to me. The devs should make constant buffs and ners, the game is in a bad bad balance state at the moment.
it made me uninstall because the things I'm looking for from a game like this is the *emergent complexity* and then they just call it a bug and remove it when they could've just brought it in line with some of the other good builds rn.
Thanks for the update - as for people saying why did they gut this but not other archmage lighning stuff: I can only guess that siege cascade specifically caused server issues and they "fixed" it because of that. Maybe they can bring the interaction back at some point.
Even though this was "Fixed" still planning to build this kind of build since I also love Siege Cascade. Thank you for the hard work, I hope they reconsider the interactions maybe they should just limit it instead of killing it. Still leveling my chronomancer currently level 25 gonna use the Lightning Rod and Orb of Shock interaction for leveling. Thanks again!
also one of the reasons why this was fixed for all possible scenarios was that a guy found a way to spam so hard with this it could crash people's games

Thanks for the update! Buuuut personally, I think I just rather reroll to something else entirely. I mean the build still clears fine still but it just doesn't feel good to continue with it, the single target options just clash with Siege Cascade in my opinion
fair enough, I have the same feeling, but I want to put this out for people that make the swap, and want to farm some currency with it. It should be totally fine for mapping and grinding some currency 🫡

@ Ahh cool, bloodmage was my first character, for someone new to poe this was a mistake, more so because it was on SSF too. Now I think it's pretty cool though!
honestly with the Ruetoo tech of using lightning rods + orb of storm + shockburst rounds you could easily delete bosses with the HoWA setup anyway. It's a shame that the low budget version of the build got nuked but at least there is SOME way of using this cool but clunky ass skill.
I am very disappointed in GGG completely destroying interactions (even if bugged) when: 1) They are also saying they want to wait for balance changes until an economy reset. 2) Most end-game builds rely on HoWA or Archmage already. My wish would be that if they do have leagues they are only about 1 to 2 months long so they can actually make major changes and we don't just end up with PoE 1.5 -- the direction we seem to have gone instead.
I think with everything they said they need to get done in the backlog, they wanted to take the easy route and gutted this interaction completely first
Of course the week I level a Chronomancer and find this channel/build it gets absolutely gutted. Will still try to work out for mapping, only Deadeye and Monk endgame is getting boring atm

Like you said nerfing vine arrow i understand but frost walls was too much imo and taking away skill interactions just leads to people funneling into the stack stacking build and HOWA and things like that. I dont really have more than 1-2 hours to play most days so I'm gonna have to grind the gold and currency i spent on the original build back up again the hard way, just to spend it all again to switch to this😭 oh well

It was a good decision for me to wait until they dropped the patch before actually starting the build. Looked very fun, too bad I never got to try it. Sticking to my boring spark archmage build and my deadeye ice shot build until economy reset zZzZzZ

@LadyExile Which specific line of bow should i swap with for endgame? Is it okay to replace and do more damage instead of faster and more number of attacks?
to beat the rampart raptor in terms of QoL and damage, you would probably need a really GG xbow, which I have not tested yet. Ideally, very high roll of flat lightning damage and elemental damage with attacks, into good dexterity and attack speed. With 2+ additional bolt loaded
It's a shame I only hit 55 right after the nerf, but I still think its a fascinating skill, but yeesh it really stinks the interactions are gone...I really think at the very least, it SHOULD be allowed to target anything with a healthbar, that way you could still interact with shield walls, ice crystals and so on, as your cascade will eventually destroy them requiring you to recast vs something like vine arrows that allowed you to infinitely shoot them since they didn't die, only expired on a timer.
They have chosen the laziest way to do it, delete all the targets that are not enemy (which I supposed is intended in the first place), but doing so removed one of the best/most interesting interaction in PoE 2 and its sadge 😔
You're amazing for finding new methods so quickly! Last time, I tried using Frost Wall + Damage Overflow Boots + Plasmatic Strike Arrow, but I couldn’t get it to work. So, I went back to playing the Artillery Ballista build I started with. It’s barely usable at the moment, but there’s still a lot to improve if I want to tackle higher-tier content-things like increasing curse slow effects, area coverage, maxing out resistances, boosting energy shield, and, of course, adding more damage. They definitely out of touch with the game especially when they said they have experience the community's problems themselves to understand it AND that when they don't it like we're complaining to them "from a ehole different dimensions" (dev's words, not mine). This game is definitely gonna go through a lot of rough patches before it's great.
They should make it get bonus damage to slowed/chilled enemy too, at least half dmg to immobilize right now. I realize this game does not have skill that pull/gather mob like in d4.
Im also following your pillar of the caged god build. im using exact gears and skills/support gem but i cant seem have 5 stack on elemental invocation. is that affected by the nerf or im just doing it wrong?
you need to have charged staff active to give shock and stack up faster, thats why I explain in the rotation to electrocute boss first to get the power charge
Wouldnt rapid shot work well with chronomancer? Time freeze is literally a free pass for insane heat buildup.. but ive never seen anyone talk about it.
They fix this "bug" and yet they leave the bug in where Siege Cascade cant apply stun. The "more damage against immobilised targets" part of siege cascade is really useless. I wasted 30h bringing a titan warrior to maps to make siege cascade stun viable, only to realise that its bugged and I cant do anything about it.
this is the current state of the build, the interaction with vine arrow is gone, so we're using different skill for single-target damage and it's not really on the same level as the previous version
Yea, GGG missed the mark with this one. Nerfing an average / slightly above average build that requires 2 buttons when the most dominant builds are clearing the entire map in one click is not a good look. Crossbow just lost one of its few viable playstyles.

I think they are more focused on building metas than supporting off meta builds. For easier focus on patches. Less to think about if not so mang options
@@LazyExile Oh yeah Lazy what's your thought on rapidshot rounds instead of the current cascade? While there's less synergy, it feels like the core synergy of the class & siege cascade was gutted (timefreeze/cascade combo). Since you have howa you should still be able to run rapidshot, but with a different crossbow I assume. Or what about explosive rounds if you want to keep the unique crossbow?
@ Yeah I just assume that since you already use shockburst/lightning rods for bossing it might be better to pivot out Cascade and keep the character going. As for most ppl, me included, lvling another character is going to take weeks.
siege cascade is nowhere near broken without vines.. yet devs also gutted the other interactions too. Lame balancing imo. So dissapointed. Seeing non-deadeye xbow users relying on shockburst rounds for single target again is... Sigh

my goal in early access is to try out all the ascendancies so maybe bloodmage next

Poison propogation is way worse for perf, basically locks up the game on huge packs

it's still going to be a good mapper, and you can farm currency in maps no problem! So don't sweat it too much 😊

It's a shame I only hit 55 right after the nerf, but I still think its a fascinating skill, but yeesh it really stinks the interactions are gone...I really think at the very least, it SHOULD be allowed to target anything with a healthbar, that way you could still interact with shield walls, ice crystals and so on, as your cascade will eventually destroy them requiring you to recast vs something like vine arrows that allowed you to infinitely shoot them since they didn't die, only expired on a timer.
They have chosen the laziest way to do it, delete all the targets that are not enemy (which I supposed is intended in the first place), but doing so removed one of the best/most interesting interaction in PoE 2 and its sadge 😔

I would say elemental damage, good lightning roll, good phys roll (it helps a bit), together with attack speed + dex would be really nice

You're amazing for finding new methods so quickly! Last time, I tried using Frost Wall + Damage Overflow Boots + Plasmatic Strike Arrow, but I couldn’t get it to work. So, I went back to playing the Artillery Ballista build I started with. It’s barely usable at the moment, but there’s still a lot to improve if I want to tackle higher-tier content-things like increasing curse slow effects, area coverage, maxing out resistances, boosting energy shield, and, of course, adding more damage. This build is incredibly expensive, but I just don’t like playing popular meta builds. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

They definitely out of touch with the game especially when they said they have experience the community's problems themselves to understand it AND that when they don't it like we're complaining to them "from a ehole different dimensions" (dev's words, not mine). This game is definitely gonna go through a lot of rough patches before it's great.

They should make it get bonus damage to slowed/chilled enemy too, at least half dmg to immobilize right now. I realize this game does not have skill that pull/gather mob like in d4.

Im also following your pillar of the caged god build. im using exact gears and skills/support gem but i cant seem have 5 stack on elemental invocation. is that affected by the nerf or im just doing it wrong?
you need to have charged staff active to give shock and stack up faster, thats why I explain in the rotation to electrocute boss first to get the power charge
@@LazyExile yes im doing that rotation. i guess i just need more practice. but that combo is still doable and not affected by nerf?

Wouldnt rapid shot work well with chronomancer? Time freeze is literally a free pass for insane heat buildup.. but ive never seen anyone talk about it.

it happens that I play both witch and siege cascade, sad patch
They fix this "bug" and yet they leave the bug in where Siege Cascade cant apply stun. The "more damage against immobilised targets" part of siege cascade is really useless.
I wasted 30h bringing a titan warrior to maps to make siege cascade stun viable, only to realise that its bugged and I cant do anything about it.
That sucks and its what it is for off-meta skills. Sadge 😔

this is the current state of the build, the interaction with vine arrow is gone, so we're using different skill for single-target damage and it's not really on the same level as the previous version
Yea, GGG missed the mark with this one. Nerfing an average / slightly above average build that requires 2 buttons when the most dominant builds are clearing the entire map in one click is not a good look. Crossbow just lost one of its few viable playstyles.

CoC frostwall is still a thing, but personally it's not my thing :D It can definitely delete bosses

I think they are more focused on building metas than supporting off meta builds. For easier focus on patches. Less to think about if not so mang options

@@LazyExile Oh yeah Lazy what's your thought on rapidshot rounds instead of the current cascade? While there's less synergy, it feels like the core synergy of the class & siege cascade was gutted (timefreeze/cascade combo). Since you have howa you should still be able to run rapidshot, but with a different crossbow I assume. Or what about explosive rounds if you want to keep the unique crossbow?
that would be another build, but it could/should work? I have seen another rapidshot version that was doing pretty well
@ Yeah I just assume that since you already use shockburst/lightning rods for bossing it might be better to pivot out Cascade and keep the character going. As for most ppl, me included, lvling another character is going to take weeks.
