Great video! Could you please do a video on how to do a self assessment for MoD personnel? Too many people getting ripped off. I think it’d be super beneficial
Yeah they messed up my pay, for some reason they reduced my core salary from 32,000 to 28,000 meaning with all the x factor etc I went from 36600 to 37300 so more like a 1.9% increase.... The clerks have been sent a messenger pigeon
Can you explain the back pay more ? Just finish pirbight 1 month ago but I’m still on the basic 18k salary until September so am I going to be owed 6months backpay ? Or just from my time in basic training ?
Our troops deserve every penny. For me NHS and Armed forces are due every penny. Council workers and civil servants should get less the 5.5% to allow more to to to the forces.
Every year, I think on the anniversary of your promotion, you will move up and increment level providing you get a good enough report. Which most people will.
My son started basic training with the RAF at the end of April, has passed out and is now about to start phase 2 training. He joined on £18,687 and i think it was 6 months service before he got a salary increase to £25K approx. Do i understand you correctly that he'll now be considered to have been on £25,200 from the day he started and that he'll get the back pay in September?
Look at the pay tables, go to OR4-3 to see what your new salary will be. You still have a backpay in September due to your current increment increasing in pay too due to the pay award.
Great content as always from @thesavvysquaddie but here's a novel idea - imagine the pay award process being addressed each year, so that the increase comes in on 1 April as it should 😅
Prior to April 2024, OR2-09 received an annual wage of £28,873.80. From April 2024 it has now been changed to OR2-07, but still with the same annual wage of £28,873.80. Will those SP previously on OR2-9 now on OR2-7 have an increase to £30,606 and remain the same at £28,873.30, with a MTRP End Date 31 March 2034?
The reserves are just as important as the regulars if a major land war in Europe occurs. - Except they’ll be less well trained… I think that deserves a little respect.

Cheers mate loud and clear as always.. My back payment will be invested in my Trading 212 portfolio 😊.. ❤
I'll be investing a good portion of mine too
Good plan
Your maths explanation of increased accom charges not wiping out increased pay was unclear. I've ate my crayons.
😂😂😂 It means you can buy more crayons. 😆
Haha that had me in stitches

Hang on, does this mean a new recruit earns 25k, and not 18k anymore?
That's correct.
you earned yourself a sub with harrogate billionnare comment 😂😂😂. lmaooo those boys are gona go crazyyyyy

Does this mean that any LSA and other allowances paid will have the 6% increase backdated to April?
Yes those will be backdated too

From April 2024.
If you started Pirbright after April 2024 then it'll be from that month. Otherwise if you were in during April 2024, it'll be from then
Our troops deserve every penny. For me NHS and Armed forces are due every penny. Council workers and civil servants should get less the 5.5% to allow more to to to the forces.
Well 6% is a good start. But the doctors have been offered 22% but that’s not enough.
There's always one.
Be a doctor then?
Just curious, im or2-02, how does it work as in going up to or2-03 or or2-04? Many thanks in advance
Every year, I think on the anniversary of your promotion, you will move up and increment level providing you get a good enough report. Which most people will.
Hey mate, I’m going up to OR-04 in August. Assuming I will not get any backdate in pay? Not sure if you can answer
You should as OR2-03 will experience a slight pay rise to bring them inline with the 6% everyone else has got.

Yes that's correct. He will have a big paycheck come September.
@@thesavvysquaddie thanks for the confirmation. Much appreciated.
Hey mate im due to go up increment level in october how will this be affected by the pay rise? I will be going from or4-2 to or4-3
Look at the pay tables, go to OR4-3 to see what your new salary will be.
You still have a backpay in September due to your current increment increasing in pay too due to the pay award.
It’s not enough , still below what nurses ,fireman, police get paid ,underpaid ,overworked ,been there done it 16 yrs ,good luck to all who are in
how long have you been serving mate?
It'll be 10 years in October
@@thesavvysquaddie would you say that an average, high or low amount of time to be promoted to sergent

From my experience I would say it's an average amount of time to get to Sgt. Some job roles get there quicker, others slower.

Think your hearing thingssssss haha
All I heard was his massive knob slapping between his legs
Is basic training anything like the real army?
No, day to day life is pretty chilled out
No its not enough in the current economic climate. But i guess its a tempory solution.
Of course it's enough. Most people don't get 6% and still have to pay for their mortgage/rent, food, utilities etc.
Most people don't do a job which involves being deployed in active war zone :)
