I don't really have much wisdom about Odissi dance...But the thing i noticed in this dance , that the androgyny quality celebrated , which is remarkable... There is no one can do Radha better than Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra....woww..❤
Guruji doesn't dance, he lives through the moment, depicting it through his Bhavas so beautifully as if we are witnessing the ordeal ourselves. As an odissi practitioner trained for 15 years into this beautiful art. I have rarely seen such beautiful masterpieces been brought to life. May Guruji bless all 🙏

What a soulful, blissful soothing and captivatingsong mam , I don't think any one in future will born to compensate the great Sanskrit scholar guru Sri jaidev. I request u to appeal to you govt of India to award or scholarship every year in his memory so that it will be fitting tribute to the great poet,similarly kelubabu whose hard perseverance odissi could reach out crossing the boundary of India to award Bharat Ratna. It was kabi kali patnaik whose hard work odissi got classical dance award but painful to note, odissi song yet to get classic. me a lay men reg art, dance, culture thinks a lot why odissi song is deprived of getting classic status, when the dance form is so beautiful, graceful, how can the song which is quite inseparable deprived from awarding classical. U non Indian odissi dancers as well as non odia dancers should appeal to the govt. Odissi and odisa cannot be undermine, a rich in culture, rich in minerals but lags economically. It was great Ravindra tagore quoted Odisa the soul of India. Our CM Mr pat only knows Odisa has been Historically neglected but don't know how to mend.
I agree with you and suggest you request Odia CM to recommend this, especially scholarships in his name and bharat ratna as he is a very wise and cultured man. I personally have no central government connections, awards or even any funding from Dept of Culture or SNA so any others would be in a better position to recommend these if they were willing to do so. but he lives in our hearts and memories and fortunately there are a few recorded performances for future generations

yes, proud of such traditions that now belong to the world. I am an expat living in India for 50 years and proud to represent this tradition of Odia Sanskriti. Guru kelucharan mohapatra said in the 1980's that I was one of only 5 of his disciples that could represent his art to the world.
