I wish I had this video 4 years ago, lol! Speak the truth, brother! 🦅
Best advice I have heard yet from the LS world. The honest truth without all the hype.
First LS swap was a 93 Sonoma , we did a stock LQ9 , 4l60e. It has shorty swap headers and the stock ECU. It is silly fast and super dependable. Next up is a 6.0/4l60e OBS 454 SS clone. Put them in stock , cam and intake after you've enjoyed it for a while. You're videos are great , keep it up
Ps , I'm old inbred guy
@timothyryan2847 lol I said that talking about the people on Facebook that were commenting under my video. Not yall on here
I cammed my 1st ls swap no idea what I was doing but got I got it
Wish woulda seen this earlier. Did my first swap on a sentimental vehicle, had heads milled and swapped cams and now can’t finish it
Should have left heads alone and cam alone.
Lost interest money and time. And now I’m afraid of it lol
Okie dokie. Just doing valve cover oil pan front cover gaskets and oil pump. Factory ecu that came with the engine.
You made it just in the right time appreciate it im a beginner, and not long time ago one or two weeks ago I bought the first LS gen 3 used engine
I'm not camping my S10 LM7 swap. Keeping the motor stock. It's just going to be a driver jot a racer. Also, using the factory wiring harness and fuseblock from my donor silverado.
The man isn't lying. I'm not saying I agree with every single thing but overall, he's telling the truth.
I wouldn't worry about it. I'm in the fifty club and see nothing wrong with your opinion. It's actually not bad advice for a beginner who is doing his own LS/VORTEC swap.
Doing the cam made me change that cam plate gasket, the one that I neglected my first time playing with one of these motors. #operationLS
Spoken from the learning experience from mistakes. Btw all gen3 crank sensor are the same. You mentioned a few months back how 6.0 was 6.0 specific. Awesome content also
They're not. I've had and probably still have one in my junk ls box of a crank sensor off a Gen 3 6.0 that is the same style plug but the little notch inside of it is on the other side compared to 4.8/5.3/5.7 crank sensors.
Logical. I see so many ls swapped trucks on marketplace. If it was such a great idea, I think I’d keep it. But jackwagon needs to screw up a perfectly good truck for muh power.
63 truck is not an apache. Thats the 1st gen c10. Apache have double headlights.
Well I'm doing my first and I had to buy a cam #operationls
Great advice 👍👍
Can we get an LS Swap with boost at some point
I am new to LS Motors, but I have took apart and rebuilt four engines. Space would you still consider that a beginner? I bought an LS motor but I haven’t started taking it apart or bought any parts. it is a longer project but going stock would be faster. Just curious on your thoughts.
Youre ahead in the game but still need to figure out all the tuning or getting it done along with the swap itself.
I want the power without the chop! There is definitely a market for cam swaps that won’t need a tune.
Show me those cams
@@krustyclassicsgarage I would be TSP and BTR rich! lol
just picked up my first 5.3 today for my 88 obs I really am stuck between efi vs carb could you do a carb pros and cons video
Thank you for the knowledge
Carb= simplicity. EFI is better for cold starts and altitude changes. Any other info is more of a debate thats been debated a million times over and making a video of it would be pointless on my end. Do whichever you prefer. Either one is just as reliable as the other. An engine just needs something to put air and gas into it to run. Whether thats a carb or fuel injectors its all the same. It really only matters when you start talking about making big power but other then thats its really just personal preference. All of my swaps would probably be carb swaps if gen 3 harnesses and ecus weren't so cheap now.
@@krustyclassicsgarage thanks man 💪
Any future ls swaps with a manual???
Not for me. Not a manual guy unless the vehicle comes with 1 already in it.
I have some questions bouta car and I’m wondering how I can contact you
