Spent 10 days going down the Atchafalaya from I-10 to Morgan City in a pirogue years ago. Lots of great experiences with the wildlife and the locals. Place was alive. Everything was eating everything including trying to eat us. Heat, humidity and bugs. One of the best trips I ever took. This episode reminded me of that. Following rivers is always an adventure.
As my wife and kids say “you watch too much TH-cam sailing channels!”, but I love the escape! Your videos are awesome, but the 1st five minutes of this one could be the best I’ve seen. Totally different from most. Music and cinematography really draw the viewer in. Great job and thank you!
My wife says the same thing too. My son, on the other hand, shares my vice and we frequently recommend TH-cam sailing channels to one another. Hopefully one day our respective wives will complain about how much time we're spending on our yachts.
I started watching your channel 3 days ago and have binge watched it since, you are so lucky to be at an age where youtube ad patreon is a thing, and can finance dreams, I am envious and wish you the best. cheers Barrie
This is the type of cruising we do up here on Lake Champlain, NY. Anchoring in muddy bottoms is common too. That is why so many boats have a deck wash down system to clean the chain quickly. Cheers, Richard
I genuinely love your appreciation and gratitude for the life you live. What an awesome journey, and thank you for making it obtainable to us arm chair wannabe's. I'm with you Desiree, forget the hustle of the neon signs... give me quaint any day!
Y'all's videos are getting better from week to week. Every week you take it to a whole new level. Congratulations and well done. Keep up the excellent work! I look forward to many more.
Guatemala isn't a destination I would have chosen...shows I know nothing ... very interesting ...thanks for sharing... Just received the Atticus coffee mug. Can't wait for more Atticus adventures,,,
Wow! This episode really went by fast. I love the sites and the houses on the water. It looks like some history on those cliff walls coming in at 2:48. Putting myself in your place I feel like I'm exploring. Desiree, I hear you about the small town "feel". I like it myself. There are too many people moving to Florida. 1100 per day, as a matter of fact. I cancelled my fishing charter today due to an incoming cold front with high winds. 40's tomorrow and Wednesday, 12/2/20. So, I'm binging for awhile. Golfete is a cool little anchorage. Cool that you'll be having your mom and dad back on again. I think I'll chill with a Pacifico...
Nice to see you enjoying the Rio. I was there in 1975 aboard a 40 ft yawl as a thirteen your old and had an awesome experience. I’ll always remember buying loads of avocados for a mere 10 cents a piece and dressing them with lemon juice and salt & pepper....Delicious treat! Also when you get back to the coast think about visiting “Seven Alters” waterfalls. It’s a bit of a challenge to find and hike to but worth it. Cheers!
Another great video loved it I bet it was so relaxing to just sit back and taking all the views get away from the big world and the houses of the open ocean just sit back and cruise alright can't wait till you live feed be safe
Hello Atticus Dudes, I just love the touch of Irish Jig music to start this video, what an amazing opening shot. The shots of the canoe fisherman, with the dude spreading that huge Cast Net was epic. The muddy quicksand bottom reminds of the ICW mud in Savannah, Georgia. That dark slimy mud makes a big mess any time you encounter it. I just got back from 8 hours of Doctor visits today, and your video was just the shot I needed to make my day so much better. Keep living the Dream, and sharing it with everyone. Stay safe, Make sure Jordan's parent have a blast on their vacation, I Love Y'all.
The voice of your dad! He should do narration on the video's. In a world of stress 2 people decided to leave this all behind and begin a life at sea! This is their story. Dun dun dun dun. Tune in every thursday for more adventures
I am a silent watcher normally. On this great episode, I notice at 43 seconds the name and hailing ports are reversed. How did that happen? The river is much like what I see going south on the TNTom from Pickwick to Mobile, Alabama.
Love Pacifico and Sol and you two folks. Mini-Mikes reminds of places we sailed to around Belize. Thank you for the memory jolt. Another National Geographic vides from you. Sweet. What was the depth of the "pond"?
This episode is off the chain! lol So much great here - your river footage at the beginning is world class! Great videography and editing. Like NatGeo great. More of that please lol. Loved the canoes and fisherman, the little villages and riverfront businesses.. this place looks compelling. The music is fitting as well. Any local Guatemalan music you could also feature? I like the 60p frame rate even at 720p on my old Macbook. Interesting about the cool down at night.. I only wish this episode was 5 mins longer! Dig the community and vibe at first glance. Guessing that Tom the sail man is going to articulate on why he moved there, looking forward to that scene. He sounded American. Would have liked to seen more food and menu - what did they serve? Standards? Any interesting local herbs? I was a sous chef at one point so am very interested in food detail. Questions: Do you do any water testing when in foreign places? Drinking, ocean, river? Kits are cheap on line. Why the masks & heavy shirts - bugs? How bad are they? What kind are they? Any weird critters, gators, snakes etc? Maybe that's coming in the other ep's. Thanks! (Sorry so long and so many Q's)
Great, Great video, Great scenery. I was born in Colombia my family came to Californa when I was very young, however seeing the river brings memories. please be safe and continue to have the time of your life. Question. Where did you get the blue face cover?
Hey Bro get a good deck wash hose and pump to spray the shit off the anchor chain as its coming up, works a treat man. love your channel and your adventures. Cheers from West Oz
I know I'm way behind, but I'd love for you to do a detailed episode about the various kit you have to fight the sun. You have some cool shirts, hats, headdresses, and probably other stuff that aren't as obvious related to protecting your skin and eyes.
Jordan, nice insight on cruising life in general. Great video! How the heck did you get the letters on the boat backwards in the opening shots of the video? I was distracted enough (intrigued) that I missed all the beautiful scenery. I need to go back and watch that again!
Hey Hey guys. Great vid this week. Love some of the shots from the dinghy back at Atticus. I have been looking for a canvas water bucket and the one you have looks to work very well. Do you know brand or where I could get one? Would you recommend it? Thanks and happy time on the river :)
I understand where the girl feels "hermity" as she approaches more population dense areas. Same thing can be felt hiking. Anxiousness is proportional to how close a trailhead is.
What is the name of that song and the artist in the beginning. The editing and music are great especially that part where the guy was throwing the bait net!
How come there is a Greek flag in Guatemala at 7:10! That seems awesome to see my country's flag literally in middle of nowhere like in that lagoon over there! :O
I take back everything I said about the super low camera and editing quality from the beginning Atticus purchase & overhaul project videos. Super great video quality and editing now. No complaints. Music selection is also getting Hollywood level too. Keep it up. I’m binge watching this weekend. You two are great.
Ar3 you finding a lot of English speaking people there. That sail repair fellow did seem to be a “Yank”! Desiree you look so healthy & Happy! I believe it is O K to enjoy your quiet time and just kicking back in your cozy v-berth! That bottom mud looked just awful! Did it smell bad?
Is that BUD he’s calling you?? Ur too pretty 🌹 to be called that 24/7. At least that’s my opinion..👍🏽 If I’m wrong, my apologies! Thank you for sharing. 😃 Blessings 🙏🏽 Godspeed 🙋🏽
You have to tell us what the tattoo on ur left forearm means the circle and triangle my guess circle is the earth and triangle is your boat please share

Beautiful guatemala 🇬🇹 increible
Can’t unsee Domasita with the hot tub on the bow of the recycled sailboat. Music was perfect. You are an artist.

Get a new wife ! Hahahaha
Ha! somebody else get given a hard time too!😃
My wife says the same thing too. My son, on the other hand, shares my vice and we frequently recommend TH-cam sailing channels to one another. Hopefully one day our respective wives will complain about how much time we're spending on our yachts.
There’s nothing as watching too many sailing channels! You should check our out ;)
I’ve heard of your channel, but haven’t watched yet. I’ll add it to my list and check it out. Shhh - don’t tell my wife!
I started watching your channel 3 days ago and have binge watched it since, you are so lucky to be at an age where youtube ad patreon is a thing, and can finance dreams, I am envious and wish you the best. cheers Barrie
Thanks for taking us along on your journey buds!
Wow Jordan, your Dad has a radio show host's voice! Very powerful. I enjoy following you guys adventures. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Love the “travelin’ music!
Dude your dad has a perfect voice for narration of your vlogs. He sounds like one of the old radio djs. Another great video. Keep it up guys

Great edit 🤙. very impressed in how well the beauty of the canyon was captured.
I remember those boatyard projects! Your dad is awesome!
Love the views you are showing. We might have to put this place as one of our destination points. Thank you for sharing.
Man I gotta tell you guys, I really love your channel, keep on keeping on! Happy sailing ⛵️ thanks you two❤️🙏🏼‼️
Great to see you two so relaxed. Rio Dulce is beautiful. I loved the video. Look forward to seeing more of the Rio.
"So far Pacifico in Mexico has been my favorite" You win the internet today. My fav as well.
Nice job! Atticus is a sweet little boat. You guys are the real deal!
Love your videos. You are great people. Wishing you safe and happy travels. ⛵
Beautiful as always. You guys have truly found the "sweet spot" when it comes to your videos... Thank you for sharing.......
The “who knows what else is out there” also goes ‘bump’ in the middle of the night.

Sounds like the music from the last Mohican
love your adventures, keep going and providing a brief respite from this soul-crushing office life!!!
Wow, what an adventure!

Really cool river cruise.
Excellent video and editing! I grew up in the midwest by a river and your sh*t on the chain brought back memories. It was more fun walking in it.
I forgot to mention the part about it squishing between your toes. No response required.
Another beautiful episode! Cheers! 🇧🇷
WoW you nailed the cinema shots just WoW!!
Thank's for helping me escape! ♡
👍👍 from Oklahoma
So awesome. No condos,Resorts.
Nice episode folks!
Wow Jordan! You look soooo much like your Dad, just younger!

Sublunary World ;

Great video guys! Never seen anything like that on other channels! Plus I saw a Greek flag in Guatemala :-)

Thanks for including the trip details, like a cruising guide. I must have missed it, but getting in from the Caribbean looks very skinny.
Guy was rockin out to "Walls of Time"! Man I know a Monroe tune when I hear it!
Wow.
Great, Great video, Great scenery. I was born in Colombia my family came to Californa when I was very young, however seeing the river brings memories. please be safe and continue to have the time of your life. Question. Where did you get the blue face cover?
In South Georgia we call that Altamaha Slime, slick but will stick like glue
That we do.....Ware County GATOR here.
Tony & Susan here; it snowed today, ,and the temp is 32 deg, Like the river, not the mud.
Hey Bro get a good deck wash hose and pump to spray the shit off the anchor chain as its coming up, works a treat man. love your channel and your adventures. Cheers from West Oz
Nice music, and editing.
The canvas shop you mentioned being friends with is where White Spot Pirate (Nike) on TH-cam spent some time.
Yeah, Uma too. And yet you get a bit of a different perspective of the shop and the whole Rio from each channel. Very cool!
Yeh it's surprising how differently folks film the same place.
Cheers Warren
I know I'm way behind, but I'd love for you to do a detailed episode about the various kit you have to fight the sun. You have some cool shirts, hats, headdresses, and probably other stuff that aren't as obvious related to protecting your skin and eyes.
The video footage is looking super sharp this video! Have you changed some settings? Its Pro!! Rock the Pro!! Love you Buds....ciao!!
looks like fun keep up the vids..salt water or fresh
Darn your dad has such a radio voice!
I been more than 30yrs taking my sea duties, hope to sail with my own boat same like yours
That Bottom Mud....Was SPOOGE
Jordan, nice insight on cruising life in general. Great video! How the heck did you get the letters on the boat backwards in the opening shots of the video? I was distracted enough (intrigued) that I missed all the beautiful scenery. I need to go back and watch that again!
I think i would put in a raw water wash down for rinsing the chain in situations like that. great video thanks for sharing with us.
Hey Hey guys. Great vid this week. Love some of the shots from the dinghy back at Atticus. I have been looking for a canvas water bucket and the one you have looks to work very well. Do you know brand or where I could get one? Would you recommend it? Thanks and happy time on the river :)
Good to see u guys, having a beer and relaxing after work today.....love u guys
Thank you Atticus I have a 1964 y'all that is similar to Atticus you're inspiring me to get it together keep it up guys peace out.
How many hours can you motor before running out of fuel? Cool place. With the mud what is the swimming like? Did you swim?
swimming was nice! the fresh water felt great!
3:23, explains the funny looks from the local fisherman! They probably thought they were being invaded by an evil bazooka Joe, lol.
Looks like it's time to make an anchor chain sprayer to rinse the muck off before it gets to the roller.
Wow Jordan your dad has a cool radio /commentary voice ! Can't wait for the live stream. Cheers Warren
THIS SHIT IS OFF THA CHAIN‼️
Too funny! 😁
He’s got a sexy voice and sounded great saying it! 💋👍🏽🙋🏽
💜U2.
I understand where the girl feels "hermity" as she approaches more population dense areas. Same thing can be felt hiking. Anxiousness is proportional to how close a trailhead is.
Your dad has a voice for radio.
8pm eastern is 2am utc?
Fab! Thanks sooooo much xx
You should let us know if your ever going to come bn out to the west coast
That overpowered mastless local sailboat was hilarious!
What is the name of that song and the artist in the beginning. The editing and music are great especially that part where the guy was throwing the bait net!
How come there is a Greek flag in Guatemala at 7:10! That seems awesome to see my country's flag literally in middle of nowhere like in that lagoon over there! :O
I’m from Louisiana. Did someone say Cajun?
I don't believe enough credit was given to, "This shit is off the chain"
Trust me Chica I prefer less peeps.. so the lil barely populated places are my faves.... love the vids..
you should look up Peter from sailing into freedom I think he is around there as well
I take back everything I said about the super low camera and editing quality from the beginning Atticus purchase & overhaul project videos. Super great video quality and editing now. No complaints. Music selection is also getting Hollywood level too.
Keep it up. I’m binge watching this weekend. You two are great.
Hi all, are you guys on the Rio? I am just under the bridge, lets get together
It looks like lake Gatun in Panama
You have a connection to Louisiana?
As a practicing noob cast netter....the guy pancaking what looked like a 30'er. Holy crap.
Mud looks like Chesapeake Bay mud
Jordan you from the bayou?
Just out of curiosity why are the opening scenes mirrored.
yeah, I was wondering the same thing...
Me too!
What do you mean? You mean the preview opening? Many channels do it and most older tv shows
I think they have a mirror image of the "Conch Republic" home port on the port side of the transom.
Me three
watch out for BIGFOOT
I think you need to get your dad to do some voice over work . He has some good pipes
Sort of an Apocalypse Now kinda trip........
Never get out of the boat
Dear travelers, that place looks like the lost world of Jurassic Park, apparently it has those characteristics.
With a title like that you have to know Creedence Clearwater Revival. If not please ask me. You may find it comical
Is that BUD he’s calling you?? Ur too pretty 🌹 to be called that 24/7. At least that’s my opinion..👍🏽
If I’m wrong, my apologies! Thank you for sharing. 😃
Blessings 🙏🏽 Godspeed 🙋🏽
Bottle that mud and sell it as high end face mask 😂
