The San Andreas stories I would’ve loved to see is we couldve played as Sweet the year 1987 when Carl left and the hood is starting to crumble due to the ballas starting to deal drugs and becoming a real problem. Sweet would work along with his other brother in working to prevent the families from falling apart and the overwhelming odds of the ballas. This isn't REALLY the answer though is it. The real reason is the "Stories" games were smaller scale spin-offs and the map of San Andreas is too damn big for them to put the work and time into making something work along the lines of the previous "Stories" instalments. The prequel movie is a compromise it's not the reason there was no game.
The Introduction was nice, but there was stuff referenced in the game that goes back farther than that. CJ left because Sweet blamed him for the death of their youngest brother, Brian. In the prequel, we could have seen how Brian died, and why CJ was involved. Also, when CJ comes back to San Andreas, he finds that the Families are split: "Seville disrespects Temple, Temple disrespects Grove." We could have seen what caused the rift between the three sets, and how they became hostile to each other.

Also, this intro isn't enough. I'd like to see a San Andreas Stories that tells the tale of Brian Johnson. Third of all, what does a DLC have to do with anything? GTA III, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City, and GTA Vice City Stories were each separate games.
Yeah we got that Video but still a San Andreas Stories would have been possible. VCS and LCS didn't only have events in them that were necessary for the events of the main games, like Gonzales's missions or the Mendes brothers or Giovanni Casa. If these wouldn't have existed in the Stories, they would not have been canon and thats it, it wouldn't have affected the main games at all. What I'm saying is that not everything that was in the Stories had to be in there to make the main games events possible. So for that, a SAS would have been possible were you play as Sweet, Brian or maybe even Ryder and go through some events that happened prior to the San Andreas introduction. For example it would have been cool if Brians death actually occured during the game which leads to new heated gang wars around Los Santos, maybe the Groves would have been forced to flee to either Venturas or Fierro where other things would happen. It would have been a great opportunity to see Toreno again (or chronologically spoken, for the first time), alongside other characters. Maybe we could have seen the rising of Woozie as the Triade leader and more Liberty City mob wars around Venturas that happened before SA... Even Ken Rosenbergs arrival in San Andreas would have been possible (if I'm correct, he went there to get into rehab in the first place so it would be possible to see him there a few years prior to SA). There are many other things I could mention which I would have loved to see in a prequel to SA, sorry for that but I get enthusiastic when this topic occurs because I love the 3D era of GTA.
The simple reason is the stories games were made for the PSP (PS2 ports came later due to popularity) and San Andreas was far too large to fit on a UMD
I think SAS would have been better if they didn't focus on the Grove Street gang at all. Why would they do the same thing twice? It would be more interesting to focus on something that isn't so directly associated with the original.
@@SenhorKoringa which is why I said Sony would’ve had to front the cash. Seeing how the “definitive” edition of the mainline 3D universe games came out, they’d likely needed to have fronted the development too…

My mom actually bought my dad that special edition San Andreas in 05’ and I actually watched that Intro movie at a young age and that’s what rlly got me into gta lol
The only prequel GTA I would have wanted is one about Salvatore Leone, and how he rose to power. Also one about Donald Love. Speaking of which, does anyone know what the f*ck happened to him after he vanished in GTA III?
Spencer Whiteway GTA LCS will show you how the Leones rose into power, and about Donald Love... Maybe we can contact Rockstar? No one really knows what happened to him.
GTA San Andreas Stories could be about Big Bear (he was supposed to be a secondary protagonist near the end of the game, R* could have 2 player unlocked after Big Bear turns on B Dup and have Big Bear be like CJ and have stats and customization). Big Bear has an unused Grove Street outfit (which looks like the one with the bandana on his head, but with a hoodie. GTA SA Stories should be about BETA Grove Street Big Bear before he went with B Dup.
Chris S That was a physical game for PSP and PS2. There was some DLC on PCs, Xbox, PS2 and Dreamcast but to an extremely limited extent. DLC wasn't common until the Xbox 360 era.
Bro I completely forgot that awesome intro for these kinds of videos, you haven't made a GTA retro video in well, let's just say GTA retro videos are now literally retro!
San Andreas Stories should've been about Ralph Pendelbury's life in 1987. 1. Ralph worked with Mike Toreno 2. Ralph saw the death of Brian Johnson, shot and killed by Ballas 3. Ralph arrested Brian's killer (Member of the Ballas) 4. Ralph saw Tony, Lil Devil and Big Devil shot and killed in a Ballas ambush 5. Ralph arrested B Dup on drug dealing but was released 6. Ralph only saw CJ once but never talked to him 7. Ralph became the leader of CRASH after his mentor was killed by Ballas. 8. Ralph recruited Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski into the force, which was his biggest mistake. 9. Ralph arrested Cesar Vialpando for illegal street racing.
I think the real reason is that the PSP probably wouldn't have done the draw distance needed for SA, it probably would have either had a huge amount of pop in or always been super foggy. The whole game probably wouldn't fit on a UMD either. Also, I don't know, if it was set right before the first game it would still be 1992 and the map would have look exactly the same and not have any change ups so in other words no new buildings or anything. Maybe setting it in 1989 or 1988 would work but they had also just done 2 80's themed games so I'm not sure a 3rd time would be a good idea. I think it would have been more interesting if they did a sequel set a few years later like in 1995 or 1996, that would have also allowed them to use more iconic 90's rap songs, SF-UR could also be upgraded to Eurodance.

Sweet: "CJ, it's your brother."
CJ: "Okay, whatchu want?"
Sweet: "I think you better come home. It's about Momma. She's dead, bro."
Seriously?
Also, this intro isn't enough. I'd like to see a San Andreas Stories that tells the tale of Brian Johnson.
Third of all, what does a DLC have to do with anything? GTA III, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City, and GTA Vice City Stories were each separate games.
Yeah . But Yk everybody calls things like that dlcs these days.
Yeah that also makes a lot of sense. Still sad^^
J.J. Yes the ports came later but once Rockstar saw how popular the prequels were they should have just gone straight to making SAS for PS2.
TheEddie1910 agreed
I think SAS would have been better if they didn't focus on the Grove Street gang at all. Why would they do the same thing twice? It would be more interesting to focus on something that isn't so directly associated with the original.
Thank u! I had the intro video in one of my lists but it got deleted. Thanks for the post! 🙌 keep up the good content bruh 👑
These retro videos are the reason why i subscribed it’s been a while we want more retro videos!
I knew about it and watched it before, back when I played GTA:SA a lot. Thanks for posting it for those who didn't know about it, though.
I love all of your videos Zac
Zac, thanks for uploading this. I've seen clips of it in the past but never the whole thing. Great stuff!
The introduction wasn't enough we need to know what happened when Brian died and CJ's flight to Liberty City
That's why Big Bear is there.
San Andreas stories can be made on how Cj left groove because of Bryan Death.
I always thought GTA: SAS would’ve been a killer app for the PS Vita had Sony been creative and willing enough to front the cash for development.
Yeah but they moved on from the 3D universe after Vice City Stories
@@SenhorKoringa which is why I said Sony would’ve had to front the cash. Seeing how the “definitive” edition of the mainline 3D universe games came out, they’d likely needed to have fronted the development too…
I'm pretty sure because the 7th gen consoles dropped and R* wanted to make GTA 4 for them and maybe they didn't have time to make gta san andreas stories
Also it would be kinda difficult to squeeze San Andreas into a PSP since it's hardware very limited.
They could have done it on the Vita
I always wonderd that they could have made a story about sweet when cj left los santos
You stay with the best content zac didnt even know about this
Zac ive been waiting for another one of your videos.
This is a very interesting video. One of my first videos I've ever watched from you was a retro video 💕
lol he only talked for 3 minutes and showed copyrighted work.
Haven't seen GTA retro in a long while. I actually already knew about this introductory prequel and even stumbled upon it a few months back very good stuff.
Been wondering about this for so long! Thanks Zac.
If there was GTA San Andreas Stories. You should've played as Jose(Cesar's best friend appeared in Cesar's lowrider mission). We could've the good knowledge of Vario Los Azetacs before CJ's arrival. How many of you agree?
“Very short Retro Episode”
*23+ Minutes Long*
It would be hard if there was a story and the main character was Bryan before he died
Shut up Carl
Real. Plus, Brian would still be playable in Free Roam after you complete the game (Albeit that's no longer canon).
Shut up Carl all you had to do was follow the train
Dear CJ, all you had to do was follow me
-- The damn train
My mom actually bought my dad that special edition San Andreas in 05’ and I actually watched that Intro movie at a young age and that’s what rlly got me into gta lol
The only prequel GTA I would have wanted is one about Salvatore Leone, and how he rose to power.
Also one about Donald Love. Speaking of which, does anyone know what the f*ck happened to him after he vanished in GTA III?
Spencer Whiteway GTA LCS will show you how the Leones rose into power, and about Donald Love... Maybe we can contact Rockstar? No one really knows what happened to him.
Spencer Whiteway he ran away cuz the cartel and the yakuzas are after him and he was a Cannibal in LCS
The neon gamer Yt he's talking about his disappearance... If he's alive or not.
no name I know that look at my comment he could be dead
The neon gamer Yt yeah, but is he alive or not? No one really knows.
I had this and still got it, the disc also featured a documentary about the majestic car club from Compton.
Finally the question, I have been wanting to know the answer to.
DaRooster16 you know you could've watched gtaseriesvideos, he has the introduction
tom c me too I started to play this game in 2007 and i found out this video in 2015
Rohin Abishek I still have to play the stories titles
DaRooster16 everyone wants stories title
GTA San Andreas Stories could be about Big Bear (he was supposed to be a secondary protagonist near the end of the game, R* could have 2 player unlocked after Big Bear turns on B Dup and have Big Bear be like CJ and have stats and customization). Big Bear has an unused Grove Street outfit (which looks like the one with the bandana on his head, but with a hoodie. GTA SA Stories should be about BETA Grove Street Big Bear before he went with B Dup.
Agreed. Maybe Big Bear drugged up was a way to keep him quiet of what he knows.
0:37 "short video"
Video: *23 minutes and 8 seconds*
@Mr New Vegas That's a guy
I actually thought about this alot. Great topic ZaC. Can't wait to watch it.
DLC wasn't existed back in the day on PS2 years
50k RGMRB 2026 vice city stories
Chris S That was a physical game for PSP and PS2. There was some DLC on PCs, Xbox, PS2 and Dreamcast but to an extremely limited extent. DLC wasn't common until the Xbox 360 era.
Dude DLC usually was on a disc or something it was separate for example. GTA : London 1969 gta1
It was called expansion pack
A WorthlessUsername2525 so it was not downloadable content
Bro I completely forgot that awesome intro for these kinds of videos, you haven't made a GTA retro video in well, let's just say GTA retro videos are now literally retro!

Me Neither and I played it when it came out.
JohnTheGoatSkrt I wish I was alive at that time LOL
San Andreas Stories should've been about Ralph Pendelbury's life in 1987.
1. Ralph worked with Mike Toreno
2. Ralph saw the death of Brian Johnson, shot and killed by Ballas
3. Ralph arrested Brian's killer (Member of the Ballas)
4. Ralph saw Tony, Lil Devil and Big Devil shot and killed in a Ballas ambush
5. Ralph arrested B Dup on drug dealing but was released
6. Ralph only saw CJ once but never talked to him
7. Ralph became the leader of CRASH after his mentor was killed by Ballas.
8. Ralph recruited Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski into the force, which was his biggest mistake.
9. Ralph arrested Cesar Vialpando for illegal street racing.
I missed these type of videos
That music never gets old i remember playing this after school
this very short retro video ends up being more than 20 mins long
Omg, Retro series comeback! Yess! I loved these back in the day

If San Andreas Stories really released I want it to be in 2007 and the storyline is in 1987 and protagonist sweet
Awesome video
Never knew this
Wow. I have never seen this. And i played hundreds of hours of GTA in my childhood.
GTA San Andreas don't deserves a DLC...
...it deserves a sequel.
RETRO IS BAAAAAAAAAAACK

Theepicgaming52 hahahahaba
You need some help my man
Awesome video!! I love your content - from a die hard gta fan
at 10:02 the guy in the car looks like JIZZY B in San Fierro .
Yea i see
Rohin Abishek he is jizzy
22:35 I feel so bad . I lost my mom to . I share the same pain . But they overcome this sadness
I think it may have been because San Andres was really big if they were to do a prequel they may have had to cut it down to just Los Santos stories 🤔
Thanks zac loved this
i actually do have the soundtrack and i’ve watched the introduction before
I think the real reason is that the PSP probably wouldn't have done the draw distance needed for SA, it probably would have either had a huge amount of pop in or always been super foggy.
Well there is liberty city stories which was set in 1998
Rip san andreas stories 😭
I have that DVD he is referring to.
