When Costco opened in Maui, people camped out overnight in line. We had huge Grandma Costco muffins...so funny. This was 1999...

Hawaiian Chip Company is a local owned business and it's nice to support them over the HUGE corporate companies. I know they are pricier but smaller companies can't match the price point of the mega-manufacturers. They are very tasty (dip'um in poke) and you'll be supporting a local business! My friend and I ALWAYS go to Costco when in Hawaii. Get stuff for the room or condo. Hawaiian Chips, Macadamia nuts, beach towels, and gifts. Love the jewelry too.

I was just there this past week. They were out of Hurricane popcorn, which we always get, and also don't forget the May's Kalua Pork and a jug of POG to go with my Aloha Iced Tea!

I love Hawaii Costcos, and yes, they are incredibly busy! Best coffee to buy as gifts, best Hawaiian snacks, best gas price, best ATM for not ripping you off with too many fees. Amazing mango smoothie.

I’m always interested in seeing what other Costco’s have. Your video came up for me today, I came because of Costco and stayed because of the Butterbeer mug.
I’m in Northern California and I would have thought your prices to be much higher than ours but a lot were comparable, our rotisserie chickens are $6.99 though!. Our poke is the same price too but they just started carrying it 2 weeks ago!

We bought the ahi jerky on our recent trip to the Big Island. We thought it was AMAZING! And yes, they need to bring back the kraut and caesar salads, and go back to old chicken bakes!

When we were stationed on Oahu you learned quickly never to go to Costco on the weekends…the little Japanese ladies will mow you down with their carts…I legit had bruises because they didn’t care they were hitting you…and when you said excuse me ma’am they’d laugh and pretend they didn’t speak English….you’d think OWW was universal lol

Hi Sean, You're definitely right Costco's Churro is not that good. I do want to thank you for opening my family's eyes to your Costco my wife was impressed to know we can buy sarongs. I was impressed I can buy Aloha shirts there. The Acai sorbet you bought looks really good. Now I have to see about buying the Mocha Roca and having it shipped to Washington State. We definitely staying away from the bird spit though.

Aloha Sean and Nhi! Loved this video. We got a chance to visit Costco at Hawai’i Kai and was there for over an hour exploring everything we don’t have here in the mainland. We also get the sandwich and Caesar salad combo too! Super easy and quick meal!! Since you mentioned Honolulu Cookie company wasn’t on your recommendation list, have you tried the cookies from Big Island Candies? They’re really good but just a bit more expensive. And the Hawaii Kai one is good to explore since it's less busy and when we did this video, I didn't realize how much Hawaii stuff we have. And I love the Big Island cookies , the Cookie Corner, and the Diamomd Head brand..we get ppl dropping off Honolulu Cookies at our job, and I'll eat it..but I don't think I'll pay the price and go to the store and grab it. Did you know that here on the mainland that Costco stores also differ on things they sell? I can’t say it’s as vastly different, but they do cater to their location to a degree. Yes there are a TON of Hawai’i things…if only we had stomach space for it all and unlimited checked bags with the airlines!! 🤣 We have had Cookie Corner and Diamond Bakery brand cookies too and enjoyed them. Tip for you for a video…did you know that Diamond Bakery opened a storefront there in Honolulu? It just opened at 756 Moowaa St. Honolulu, HI 96819 last month. They have exclusive items that can only be found in the store. Also another video idea bc we loved the shave ice places you’ve shared so far, in Honolulu they just opened up Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice. It’s the first one in O’ahu since it’s primarily in Maui. We tried it when we were there. We enjoyed it but would love to know your thoughts! Keep up the great work!! 🤙🏽 Happy Aloha Friday!🌺

I’ve watched about ten videos on Costco in Hawaii and yours was the only one that touched on buying outdoor gear. Wish they was one more detailed about things like chairs, umbrellas, and beach things to buy to save money and not rent. Good video Good vibes 😎

The fresh Ahi poke is market priced and pretty good. Marukai up the street is also slightly better.

Oh by the way they still got the da hui board/hybrid shorts ? They were so cheap compared to price I see online.

I still have lots of family on Oahu, Kawai and the Big Island, but we are all old folks now, although my sisters and I went to Oahu a few years ago to take our mom's ashes to put with our dad's in the Punchbowl, at the National Memorial Cemetery. It was good to see our cousins again. We had malasadas, (and all of the other good stuff), drove around the island, Visited what was left of Eva Plantation where our mom grew up, and went to visit our childhood home that our dad designed and built in Palolo Valley. It was a nice, meaningful visit!

After the rotisserie chicken cools, I use the lid as a container. Whatever is left over goes into a dated ziplock bag and our deep freezer. Can’t beat it.

@@SeanKaleponi Sean, the best time to visit Grand Canyon is in the spring. Don’t come here during the summer. Even though it’s not hot up in Grand Canyon, but it’s monsoon season and we get a lot of rain,strong winds and flash floods in the summer time. Fall and winter can be very cold. Spring is the best time.
