Rays is my absolute favorite place. Great deals and great food. I first discovered Rays on Smith st downtown. I was a young beat-man with HPD in the 80’s. Still can’t beat Rays

@@SeanKaleponi aloha. We used to love Ray’s. It was so much cheaper back in the day. I don’t recall the crab legs but Prime rib was like $12. There was also a good truck but I can’t recall the name. I believe we bought crab stuffed mahi. I’m too old to remember exact prices. HCC had the best bakery too. Rum cake was the best. I’d always buy it for my gma. They stopped making it when drinking age went from 18 to 21. Yes, my age is showing. Big Kahuna had great shrimp scampi pizza and Ono desserts. So many places closed down from college days. It’s sad! Masu’s massive plate lunches used to feed us for 3 days! Grace’s is awesome too. Surfers would go there after surfing cause they gave a lot. Since COVID, I hardly go out to eat since I’m high risk. Chu wah Kam gives a lot too. My fave was ginger chicken fried rice. Another place I love is Palazzo in Aiea. The owners, Loc and his brother are the nicest people ever! The food is amazing. The bread is great! It’s an Italian restaurant. They even used to make me things that weren’t on the menu. Loc was the waiter and he had the most awesome memory. He remembers our names and what we ordered. We found this place by accident over 10 years ago and it’s been a favorite of our family since.
Mahalo for showing us the tip with Ray‘s cafe!! We‘ve been there yesterday traveling from Kaneohe and we were sooooo happy with the food!! Uncle Felix was so warm and welcoming. We had the feeling of visiting a relative, like eating in our uncle’s kitchen ❤ He also gave us T-shirt with his restaurant’s logo❤ The prices are unbeatable, it’s a hidden gem, this place is definitely a top recommendation for everyone and also for tourists like us. It’s good to see Liliha bakery is not crazy busy like before after they opened other branches. I used to stay at my good friend’s house just cross da Liliha St so been to Liliha bakery almost every week. I love their Anpan most and used to take two boxes of anpan back to Japan. I missed to Ray’s last visit in 2019, definitely got to go next time. Also it’s a great news that Marukai is not required membership now! Please carry on great work😍 Arigato!!

We want to suggest to you to visit Romy’s Prawn and Shrimp Shack in Kahuku… they are the ONLY FRESH SHRIMP AND PRAWN eatery in Hawaii!!! Great video…I’m so hungry now! The cheeseburger at Liliha bakery is really good and it’s been my go to for the last 30 something years. Charbroiled with lots of relish. If you get it at the Kuakini location you can order just the burger. At the other locations, it comes with their fried potatoes and choice of salad. We used to always order the Mac nut pancakes with chocolate chips from Pancake house. A little sweet but so good! Can’t wait for the next video! ☺️

So dangerous to watch when your hungry! That crunch of the chicken sounded so good! I had to push pause and get some Thanksgiving leftover! I was in Oahu this month and wish I went to Chicken & Brisket! That chicken & those sauces look so onolicious! I have to try that kalbi nachos too. Love that the places you visited looked so friendly & down to earth! Like going to local spots and will have to check them out when I come back in March. Thanks for another great food video and would definitely love it if you can do a Costco video. I've been to three Costcos in Oahu and haven't gone to the one in Hawaii Kai. I really miss the foods of Hawaii ❤👍 But because I love to cook, I make lot of things that I miss from home ❤👍 I have made malasadas, manapua, Lau lau, bao, Korean Kalbi, Bulgogi, and much morewhat ingredients that I cannot find here in Roswell, there is always Amazon ❤👍 Amazon has everything you can imagine ❤👍I even got poi on Amazon ❤👍 My kitchen is my pride and joy and when I shop online, it is always for my kitchen ❤👍An who needs a cookbook???? ❤👍 You don't really ❤👍 Anything you want to make or learn to make, it is all on TH-cam ❤👍 TH-cam is my happy place ❤👍With TH-cam, I can make anything ❤👍
Aloha Lynn! I believe all restaurants are handicap accessible. It would be against the law if it wasn't. I would make sure to go to a Resturant for starters like one that's at a Mall like Ala Moana because you know there's lots of parking and elevators. And there's good food👍🤙😋

If you like Vietnamese food, you gotta try the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) at Pho Que Hoang on Maunakea st. They’re Pho is good but I find pho boring, hence my recommendation for the Bun Bo Hue. My Vietnamese buddies and I have confirmed they have the best overall Vietnamese food on island. We frequently go to Fooki in Aiea for the fusion Taiwanese food. They’re Cow Wow noodle soup is amazing! Keep doing what you’re doing! Awesome how you’re representing Aloha on YT!

Rays Cafe was the hangout back in the late 1998s until I graduated high school at Farrington High, I used to lived there by Bannister St. and Uncle Felix always gives me extra chicken and rice on my Bento.

Rays is my absolute favorite place. Great deals and great food. I first discovered Rays on Smith st downtown. I was a young beat-man with HPD in the 80’s. Still can’t beat Rays

@@SeanKaleponi aloha. We used to love Ray’s. It was so much cheaper back in the day. I don’t recall the crab legs but Prime rib was like $12. There was also a good truck but I can’t recall the name. I believe we bought crab stuffed mahi. I’m too old to remember exact prices. HCC had the best bakery too. Rum cake was the best. I’d always buy it for my gma. They stopped making it when drinking age went from 18 to 21. Yes, my age is showing.
Big Kahuna had great shrimp scampi pizza and Ono desserts. So many places closed down from college days. It’s sad! Masu’s massive plate lunches used to feed us for 3 days! Grace’s is awesome too. Surfers would go there after surfing cause they gave a lot. Since COVID, I hardly go out to eat since I’m high risk. Chu wah Kam gives a lot too. My fave was ginger chicken fried rice.
Another place I love is Palazzo in Aiea. The owners, Loc and his brother are the nicest people ever! The food is amazing. The bread is great! It’s an Italian restaurant. They even used to make me things that weren’t on the menu. Loc was the waiter and he had the most awesome memory. He remembers our names and what we ordered. We found this place by accident over 10 years ago and it’s been a favorite of our family since.
Mahalo for showing us the tip with Ray‘s cafe!! We‘ve been there yesterday traveling from Kaneohe and we were sooooo happy with the food!! Uncle Felix was so warm and welcoming. We had the feeling of visiting a relative, like eating in our uncle’s kitchen ❤
He also gave us T-shirt with his restaurant’s logo❤
The prices are unbeatable, it’s a hidden gem, this place is definitely a top recommendation for everyone and also for tourists like us. I will promote him on my small channel too. Mahalo🤙🏼

It’s good to see Liliha bakery is not crazy busy like before after they opened other branches. I used to stay at my good friend’s house just cross da Liliha St so been to Liliha bakery almost every week. I love their Anpan most and used to take two boxes of anpan back to Japan. I missed to Ray’s last visit in 2019, definitely got to go next time. Also it’s a great news that Marukai is not required membership now! Please carry on great work😍 Arigato!!

We want to suggest to you to visit Romy’s Prawn and Shrimp Shack in Kahuku… they are the ONLY FRESH SHRIMP AND PRAWN eatery in Hawaii!!! They own the aqua pond rights and ONLY serve what they harvest that morning… NOTHING previously frozen! Quality Shrimps AND Prawns!!! 👍

Great video…I’m so hungry now! The cheeseburger at Liliha bakery is really good and it’s been my go to for the last 30 something years. Charbroiled with lots of relish. If you get it at the Kuakini location you can order just the burger. At the other locations, it comes with their fried potatoes and choice of salad. We used to always order the Mac nut pancakes with chocolate chips from Pancake house. A little sweet but so good! Can’t wait for the next video! ☺️

Thanks for this video Sean! Kalihi has the best food for reals. I haven't been to Ray's in forever but we used to go almost every day for dinner at work. But couldn't afford the prime rib everyday just the regular plate lunches. Uncle Felix is a nice man. We just went to Pongos about 2 weeks ago too. 😊😋😋 Mahalo for a great video!

I really miss the foods of Hawaii ❤👍 But because I love to cook, I make lot of things that I miss from home ❤👍 I have made malasadas, manapua, Lau lau, bao, Korean Kalbi, Bulgogi, and much morewhat ingredients that I cannot find here in Roswell, there is always Amazon ❤👍 Amazon has everything you can imagine ❤👍I even got poi on Amazon ❤👍 My kitchen is my pride and joy and when I shop online, it is always for my kitchen ❤👍An who needs a cookbook???? ❤👍 You don't really ❤👍 Anything you want to make or learn to make, it is all on TH-cam ❤👍 TH-cam is my happy place ❤👍With TH-cam, I can make anything ❤👍

Aloha Lynn! I believe all restaurants are handicap accessible. It would be against the law if it wasn't. I would make sure to go to a Resturant for starters like one that's at a Mall like Ala Moana because you know there's lots of parking and elevators. And there's good food👍🤙😋

I’m glad you’re sending love to local eateries in the area. If you like Vietnamese food, you gotta try the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) at Pho Que Hoang on Maunakea st. They’re Pho is good but I find pho boring, hence my recommendation for the Bun Bo Hue. My Vietnamese buddies and I have confirmed they have the best overall Vietnamese food on island.
We frequently go to Fooki in Aiea for the fusion Taiwanese food. They’re Cow Wow noodle soup is amazing!

Rays Cafe was the hangout back in the late 1998s until I graduated high school at Farrington High, I used to lived there by Bannister St. and Uncle Felix always gives me extra chicken and rice on my Bento.

I remember having the Butter Fish last time I was in Maui. It was wonderful! I was told in the mainland it is Black Cod. Could not find it in California. I need Butter Fish now! It was served with Pineapple Sauce. Yum!
