- Magnus Carlsen had already played 4 Indian players out of 5 rounds at the Qatar Masters Open 2023. In the 6th round he faced another Indian youngster. The 2006 born, 17-year-old talent Aditya Samant. Aditya is India's 83rd GM and gave Magnus a really tough fight. It seemed like the game might end in a fighting draw, but then something truly unbelievable happened. Check out the game video along with the commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

Next year magnus might decide to play in the indian national chess championship instead of qatar masters.
If you could subtitle and show the board their discussions at the end, it would be awesome.
the Indian youngsters are a joy watch .. good sportsman and brilliant players.. i think maggie likes playing them as they are always respectful.
Maggie is crazy
LOL Maggie Reilly Carlsen@@Z.A.N.E19
tf maggie 😂
I love the post match discussion, graceful #1, very impressed by India, always known to be a powerhouse in the game. Great channel
Happy to see magnus still in the game!
Sound gets allways very distorted, when you start getting enthusiastic. Maybe you could adjust your Mic settings?
Best regards!
13:20 magnus shows the middle finger
That's the f*cking analysis :)
Pls kindly cover few games from Nihal
He was in such a great position but that blundered changed the game
Only 83rd GM in India 🇮🇳 incredible population. Shows exactly how difficult and rare these guys are…Indian chess is the top of the world at this time.
Thank you very much. You are so great in commenting. I do not know a better channel.
Super Magnus ❤
0:16 wait what?😂
What?
he actualy looks like 17 years older than Magnus😮
Great magnus..
Nihal sarin awkwardly pacing in the background is so hilarious. its as if nihal is feeling the actual pressure of this game :D
I see magnus is still playing with low aggression with these youngsters
He will paly today Murali Kartik
7round
Magnus got 6 Indians 1draw 4wins
Sarga’s commentary improved my games
Time pressure in endgame can make any GM to do a 100 elo blunder. Kudos to Aditya for giving a tough fight to Magnus.
you crazy, no GM and even IM would make that mistake. There is no reason to no take that rook
@@andy0519 Bruh Nepo played f5 and blundered the entire game with no return in game 12 in world championship while having enough time too. Don't act like GM are not human. Plus the boy might be affected by Magnus effect also. It happens to all.
Shesh. Its chess. Youre the GM of of your own time the whole game...
Never saw magnus interested after getting in trouble or win😂
Magnus is strong mindset
Please give subtitles
Magnus must become world champion
it would be great if you can show time as well
I love the way you're commenting
I’m a chess rookie. No clue on why he gave up. Anyway, still good fun watching.
Cause white is just dead lost .This is not your average level where you lose up a queen or self mate with 15 points up in material
Aditya had no time left on his clock and was behind in material.
He was down material. Magnus had rook other guy had only bishop. So he resigned
At the end He's saying i leave it for you to listen to them but the only thing i hear is nothing😂
That’s a blunder by Sagar. 😅
Ye hand movement is formalities
Can someone explain to me why chess players are always going somewhere? Where are they going (except for the restroom) i would thing you do that before the game. Same with other players not just Carlsen.
17 years old! he looks at least 25
Exactly. Gukesh also!
I don't know why some people in my indian subcontinent hide their real age .
Like he looks for sure 25.
Rashid a cricketer in 2011 looked like 18 year old but in 2023 his official age is 24
@@shouryaverma3453 Money, maybe?
More than 30 years
Once Magnus retires, India will dominate chess like Russia had for so long.
no that will be a shame
its like a winning ding liren with no recognition
No pragg will take over before magnus retires, magnus is not some 40 ,45 years old
cant say much, id say sit bac n enjoy the show
@@betarubber9546
@@betarubber9546loo for sure Pragg wont be able to take over Magnus
@@wattersonjames6790 magnus's rating is dropping, its possible
Lets see how the next 3,4 years of chess world goes
Good thing Magnus won. Else if he lost he would have said that he wasn’t able to focus on the game coz Aditya was wearing glasses which can hide a mic!
How on earth are still smartphones allowed in the playing hall ( 1:25) ???
I was thinking the same! He just wiped it out like nothing 😂
I am in attendance in Lusail where the sport arena is. Organizers did a terrible job 🙁
@@kwamebrownofficial Have you ever heard the word "Media"?
Media are allowed in the playing hall for the first 10 minutes of the game. Thereafter only the official photographers, arbiters and players are allowed.
@@mr.donkenny I was in the venue day 1 and 2. The liaison officers themselves are confused on what to do. Players and spectators are coming in and out of the same hall and missing out security checks.
Even an unrated player wd have gone for the Rook. Example of even how GM's go wrong.
Most certainly, though just as certainly (s)he wouldn't have held the resulting endgame against Magnus. Why unrated, any slightly lesser tactically alert player would've done the same. White's undoing were 1) the middlegame simplification in the center not realizing the a pawn couldn't be retained, 2) playing at a horrendous speed and 3) forgetting that discretion is the better part of valour, strictly in chronological order...
@@sachinsamant8246 Your first point about middle game is not relevant at that instant were the rook has to taken. Horrendous
speed ? I think this was not a blitz game. Time pressure was there, but not beyond the situation of comprehending moves ( at GM levels) .
Finally i don't understand ur third point with respect to this game.
@@mitravaruna7657 True, the first point has no relevance to the mistake, I was just summarizing his misdoings in the game. You CANNOT play at your own pace regardless of the pace at which the opponent is playing and in the case of this opponent - definitely not. As Sagar mentions, the pressure does pile up though the player may not realize. He had to make about 6-8 only moves in less than a minute each and when he finally got to where he had to just do the obvious thing, he tried to take a route which worked all, but for that Ra6-Ra5 idea. In all honesty, I feel he is strong enough to have found that idea had he not been in that pressure for the previous hour. It is here that the third point comes into play. If he was playing Bd5 thinking he had a chance to win, it would still make sense. But he had seen only a draw in that line at best, and in that situation it was completely not worth the risk when taking the rook didn't even look dangerous. Magnus, for what we've known him to be, might have still squeezed something out of it though he told Aditya it was a dead draw. The players who 'make' it grab opportunities with both hands, and more...
Ofc he calculated more lines after taking rook than you..maybe he is not sure about draw & he is playing Magnus pressure is real💀
@@sachinsamant8246 👍
Magnus carlsen 👍👍👍💪💪💪
This guy minimum over 20 age 😂
I'm 20, and I look younger than him by 5 years or something.
Omg why?
He does not look 17!
In India people forged their date of birth by money to concern authority and this is very easy
So don't worry
I can belive this
1200 rupees for a mug!
17? Dude is at least 30

Samant has done the blunder and he is coward to taking the move
