A gorgeous comeback from Ajla. In fact, I had forecast that she was going to be compelled by Fernandez in the beginning of this clash but her adaptability and efficiency have entirely nurtured on the pitch in order to retain her dominance and advantage within this step. A solid game and display from the professional Australian tennis competitor.
I was surprised when Ajla lost the first set badly because she used to be so good. But, she’s back! Leylah is looking good still. Wimbledon awaits. Good luck!
people forget she lost to eventual champion in the QF of wimbledon 2 years in a row. Even won the first set against 2022 champion rybakina. Shes dangerous and her injury really came at a crappy time for her :(
my sincere congrats to leylah. She battled hard but the jump on the shots came in the second. I am not sure what happened ?? she had the game from the get go but she gave the cards away and then did not have enough in the tank to take the shots early and cross them dangerously like tomjalovic did in the second and third. Leylah has all my respect. Sick sick tennis. congrats from toronto been to montreal plenty respect!
I take notice of these details as well. I was thinking how Leylah from the net back to the baseline always puts real purpose in her stride and it takes her only a short time when compared, for example with Sharapova and Nadal, who had to be so careful not to step on any line!
It seems that way and as a Leylah supporter I find it VERY DISTURBING !?! It's trying to win the hard way-- most champions don't do it that way-- they usually take aggressive advantage of knocking off the first set !?! Besides, too many 3 setters can eventually wear you down and make you 'flat' which is probably what happened to her in the 2021 U.S. Open final against Raducanu (mind you, Leylah had to knock off more top ranked players than Emma). This first set conundrum of Leylah's would probably go the way of the dodo bird with better coaching.😮😮
It is a PROBLEM !!!??! She needs more than a service specialist coach, she needs a coach who really understands highly competitive sports psychology. 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ajla, the more experienced player, has a bigger box of tricks to draw from than Leylah. Leylah didn't seem too happy about her loss... get over it, there'll be other tournaments. Both ladies behaved in a civilised manner 👍
I am Fernando's fan...lately so disappointed and frustrated with her performance.....when I expected her to lose, she would win...when I expected her to win, she would lose :( She can be 40 to love and would lose that game!
Especially when she slaughtered her 1st round opponent 6-1, 6-1, then her succeeding games started going down. I am also an avid Fernandez' fan but I am not one of those who would declare "you're doing a great job, just keep it up".
Leylah struggling to beat world 190 is no surprise. Seems to me like her opponents are "always on" because she can't manage to win the matches that she's supposed to win. Once a strong contender for slams, now I wouldn't bet on her on any surface.
All grit and determination but not too high tennis IQ. That’s a problem. I femember leylah telling a reporter that she doesnt analyzematches and just waits for her Dad to tell her what to do. What a weird statement coming from her maybe 2 yrs ago. Hope she realizes that she also has to analyze!
You are right !!! Analysis of the ART & SCIENCE of sport ( or anything else for that matter) benefits from more than just one or two perspectives -- that's how you get "INSIGHT" !!!😮😊
I no see Tomljanovic for a year or so. She in quarter of grand slam or something. Then she injure, I guess. Hard to see ball. Some clip. Visibility excellent. Maybe not WTA clip. Fernandez' form' on grass, a bit gimpy. Her graceful game, not showcase in this match. Think it surface or something.
I agree. You are wasting your physical and mental energy fist pumping yourself and doing little hops instead of strategize your next move. Even she is sitting down during breaks she still shakes her legs.
@@hertor8803 disappointment. I was her biggest fan for years, way before the us open. I thought she will be a multiple gs champion. Now i think she will drop 100-200 rankings
Great to see Tommy doing well after her injury problems. I hope she can continue her good form.
SURELY WE GET 1080p 60fps HIGHLIGHTS in 2024 @WTA shameless
Just give it time. Or learn about video uploading quality on youtube before whining

if Tennis TV can do it, why can't the WTA?
What great ball striking from both. Great match
Out of no where and Ajla is into the semis! Can you believe that?😮
Just like Berettini 😂😂😂
Maybe her dad is really good at coaching 😅😅
So happy that she got through 🎉
By highlights? No
She's good on grass
Great game, Ajla 👏❤️

Congrats WTA, you managed to make it look like Leylah out played her. But Ajla won pretty easily the last two sets.
Absolutely magnificent performance by Ajla Tomljanovic - Australia's 🇭🇲 best female player and the most underrated player on the WTA circuit. 🎾
Love both of these ladies!
Nice to see Ajla playing well.

Leyla is the cutest, hopefully she can win a big one soon
A+ for Ajla!! Looking good in hot pink.
Ajla has got that walk man.! She struts like a racehorse.! Delightful.

haha, true :)
Leylah must learn to be more brave when she comes under pressure.!
She stops being aggresive and goes into defencive mode as soon as things get tough.
Leylah needs a new coach, Goran or Carlos Rodriguez
Horrible quality even at 720p. Downvote on that alone
I adore you, Romania (and thank you). Go Ajla!
Ugh, love Ajla❤ played so well and such a babe🔥🔥
Despite losing the match, most of the highlights were for Leylah!! Am I missing something here??
I thought it strange as well
Ajla, 100% class!
Good win Ajla, keep it going :)
Not to bash Leylah but she’s one of the few players who you know it means nothing after they take the first set

Bravo Ajla
Love Ajla ❤
Yes ajla 🎉
Tom is a babe. Go Tom Tom.
Go Ajla great job
Great job Aija!
I noticed most of the time where Leylah takes the 1st set, she loses the match.
Not a good sign at all

Leylah had good reason to be upset after what she did in the first set and what she did not do there after !!!!????!!!!😮😮😮😮
Did not see that coming.

Ajla was virtually absent in the first set.
wtf fernandez completely dominated the begining of the match how come she ended up losing xD
Yes, she needs better coaching.😮
OMG !?! Leylah should not have lost that match and should never let Tomljanovic beat her again--NEVER !!!😮😢😢😮😮😮😮😮😮
Not the result Leylah wanted..She started so aggressively.
Sorry Leylah 😢
Leylah, with that height you can do so much.
Absolutely next level fixing 😂😂😂
LAYLA GOT BURN OUT
The commentator certainly thinks Tomljanovic is bwilliant and gives a weally gweat performance on gwass

Whoever edits these highlights is doing a horrible job. Either using bad Ai or needing Ai to replace your job.

Hippity hop will never win a tournament. She’s better off participating in challenger events.
Will never win a tournament ? 1. Monterey in March 2021, 2. Monterey in March 2022, 3. Hongkong in October 2023 Any questions ??
Your love is shining through!

Fernandez will drop to 200's rankings during her twenties.

She’s still really good she just lacks raw power. She weights like 100lbs
Why does Leylah always a sour look on her face? She plays angry, she looks angry, and soon will continue to accept wildcards she doesn't deserve.
Leylah with her consistent salty handshakes. Glad she lost
