I am happy to see that Leylah has improved her serve recently, with notable less doubles faults (mostly due to an improved ball toss). She has always being quite good on return games, but over the past month or so she has not being all the time under pressure on her service games.
@@andrewwalker9830 Pure 50/50 math says 12.5%. Of course, if you calculate using Elo formulas both Emma and Leylah are more likely than not to lose their next matches so the real odds are between 5% and 10%.
Leylah's physically in better shape right now I think, so I'd probably make her the slight favourite if they meet. Emma's not quite back up to full speed in this return from surgery IMO.
Leylah definitely keeps making a magnificeny impact with her evolution on the grass surface, a fortuitous performance from the professional Canadian tennis competitor. It is really great to observe the steady revival of Leylah Fernandez within this stage.
I like that she takes the ball early...but sometimes I wish she would back off on the baseline and use her speed to her advantage just like Kasatkina. You would think she could do it situationally.
First of all I want to congratulate Leylah for having an Amazing Tourney so Far, She has improved so much and has more room for improvement but her IQ is amazing , she trains hard and she is fasttttttttttt af. When she paints those corners , she will be hard to stop. Leylah does not Seek and not need Attention she plays for her Fans and to entertain and you can really see that in her Game and off the Court. People might say Blah Blah but... Vamos!!!! oh and thanks to the WTA for finally showing one of Leylah's matches. On their Website. and her Fans who have Truly been there from the beginning.
she has the playing ability of a top ten player but a serve that can lose to a bottom 200. From tourney to tourney you just never know what leylah will show up, it drives my niece crazy, LOL! Although we both agree her serve has never been better. Her and Bianca are so much fun to watch.
I really hope Leylah learns to play similarly to Kerber even more. Utilize the lefty serve (doesn’t have to be strong), change directions, keep the ball in the court. I think Leylah does have more firepower than Kerber tho
I think Leylah needs a lot of training on the tactical side too. Many times her shot selection puts her in an awkward position for succeeding shots. IMO Harriet wasnt feeling good on the court today. Not her usual feisty self. But a win is a win. Congrats Leylah!
Leylah is a great player and great to watch, but these tournaments are in Britain, most of the spectators want to see British players and the high capacity courts are a straightforward choice. It would be nonsensical for them to move the capacity crowd into a court that doesn’t have adequate space.
@@ReTracer Your reasoning doesn't hold. 1. Dart is English. 2. Dart is even more British than Raducanu, I could argue. Seems you have missed that Leylah was playing a British athlete.
Did not expect Fernandez to actually do well on grass. She’s doing good so far. Hope she’ll do well in Wimbledon!!
Well done, Leylah .👏
Quarter last week and now she’s into semis. Leylah looking dangerous on grass.

Wow...Leylah is obviously in good form and a much better player on grass than I expected...
Leylah showed up and sent the message that she’s no longer that 18 year old in their first encounter. What a change in scoreline.
A Fernandez Raducanu final would be AMAZING and great for the WTA. But they both have some tough matches to get through first.
Imagine if we get Raducanu Fernandez this week 🤣
Trying to work out the odds for that one.

They have unfinished business 😅

Semifinals! YES
Well done Annie. I'm a fan. You're a fighter and deserve to be a champ.
If you are a lefty, you would not go wrong to copy Fernandez' playing style. It's really a text book stuff.

Good job Leylah. Keep it up. Hit the ball to the corners.
Hooray Annie :)
Fantastic Leylah!!
fernandez is so good and pretty
Great match Leylah! All the best from Toronto. Happy Canada Day soon too! 🇨🇦
Well done Leylah! 👏❤️
On fire Leylah!! Good to see. Keep going girl. Canada loves you. Always watching from Hamilton..
Leylah is playing really good.
Wow! Congratulations Leylah
Too good from Leylah! Bravo.

Leylah's counterpunching allround game should work well on grass if she gets used to it, it gives her a little more power...
Good win Leylah !
🎉Congratulations ! Leylah Fernandez 🎊💥
Leylah looks like she’s been in the gym and results paying off. Look out..😅
Leylah may have found a tourney where she can go all the way. Here’s hoping. She deserves it.
Harriet looked underpowered to me
A massive breakdown right there.
I think Leylah is actually just that good, but this wasn't one of Harriet's best matches, for sure.
Bravo Leylah. Elle semble plus forte qu'avant.
Let's go Leylawn Turfandez 🌱😁
Now that’s funny 🤣
What am I missing here?
Congrats Leyla
GO LEYLAH!!!🎾💪👍

Amazing how Leylah and Raducanu became notorius at the same time
Only one of them made the semifinals

Sad that she has to play in these courts while the princess gets to play in bigger courts.
She's playing at home. Leyla would get the same in Montreal

That’s OK, Leylah has now earned her place in the semis and would definitely take centre court
