    We're G Suite users but I can't get over how much more powerful and useful Teams is. Thank you for creating this video as it really helped me gain some insight into the possibilities.

    Thank you very much for this video, you started the video as if someone knows nothing and explained every aspect of the Teams application (most videos for a reason assume that we know stuff......ehhh no that is why I am looking videos with titles "what is teams or how to use teams"). Nice video,

    You really need to mention that in Teams video chat, you can only see up to 4 participants at a time. Quiet participants fade into the background. This is a major shortcoming and an ongoing issue that Microsoft hasn't resolved over many years. This is the reason that, for my classes, I have shifted to using Zoom for our class meetings even though we use Teams for almost everything else. I like to see all my students at once to see who might have their hand up, to see if kids have puzzled looks on their faces, to be able to get non-verbal responses to my questions, and to make sure students *seem* to be on-task.
    I love your channel but I would appreciate more critique of the tools that you review. You could compare websites/apps to others that are similar, and discuss their pros and cons. This would be helpful. Keep up the good work and thanks for supporting teachers.

    • @bavobostoen
      @bavobostoen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it helps: Teams will get a 3 by 3 grid in video meets + a ‘hand up’ feature. So it does get better over time although more can always be done.

    Excellent presentation of a lot of features within a reasonable timeframe. There is SOOOO much to this amazing education tool. The Immersive Reader integration makes this a hands-down "inclusive" and "accessibility" tool for anyone in education. One person commented that you should reference the 4 person view "major shortcoming", but I'm glad you didn't because that would make your video dated. Microsoft is launching a 3x3 view and just today I noticed the raise hand feature is not available. Plus, too many views or images on the screen, especially of classmates, is too distracting for your participants. This negatively impacts "classroom management." Also, Microsoft 365 is now the name. They smartly removed the word "Office" recently.

I would like to learn about the other applications in the Add Tap of Microsoft Team. I don't know if this could be a topic to consider for future videos. Once again, thank you for putting this materials together.

    Great overview. Thank you! A couple questions... While messing around with Teams I noticed a "guest" can not see my presentation or my whiteboard... can a guest be added to the team, then would they be able to see the presentation or whiteboard?
    How many people can this handle... I have a presentation to do with 50 people... would that be too many for teams? How does a conference room with a Cisco VTC dial into a Teams meeting? Thank you... again, great overview!

    Excellent tutorial, well presented and gives a good overview. Thank you for the information.
    What you don’t say is that the online version appears to be severely limited. This may be default for many as my organisation wants admin control of my PC so is not an option.
    Is there a tutorial on the online version?
    Overall, what a lot of faffing about. For me, I am not convinced this particular chase is worth the biscuit at the end.
    Badges, emojis and thumbs up. What? How old do they think I am, 4 years?
    Of course, there is always the problem of humans in general not taking in information properly off a screen.
    Other than that, I am sure it is good for some and with the growth of remote working many will be inflicted with it regardless good or bad.

    Thank you for this. I teach middle school business ed. Although in my classroom we have desktop computers and I teach MO, the students have 1:1 chrome books that they use in other classes and take the cb home. Their other teachers use google classrooms as well. I have always used my teacher website as the main tool for students to access assignments from me.I feel that the real world and business world uses MO software so I will cling to it until the higher ups ask me not to. Unfortunately, their cb do not have MO software. Is there a way that they could add MO to their cb? I really want to use Teams with them to offer another option from Google Classrooms, but I am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't just give in and go the gc route. Sigh...advise is welcome.

    • @TeachersTech
      @TeachersTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they have access to MO 365, they can access it on their cb, doesn’t have all the functions but I think you will see Microsoft soft move into more of an online environment in the future. They can make accounts for free if your school doesn’t have it.
