Thank you for the effort you put into your video. However, I must respectfully disagree with some of the comments and advice provided. -First and foremost, it's crucial to emphasize that you should never resort to begging. -Second, it's essential to recognize that when you buy something, you become the most important person in the room. Retail staff should earn their wages by providing a pampering experience, especially when you are making an expensive purchase. -Third, part of the luxury experience is the entitlement to respect and personalized attention. You are, after all, paying for this level of service. -Fourth, respecting your own time is crucial. If you can afford a luxury item like a Rolex, then you certainly cannot afford to waste your time. If you are not satisfied with the service you receive, it's perfectly acceptable to leave and explore other options. Remember, by purchasing their product, you are doing them a favor, and there are numerous alternatives available for you. -Fifth, it's important to remember that when dealing with a retailer, the staff is there to sell you a product, not to form friendships. You enter a store to make a purchase, not to establish personal connections with the employees.

I had a very positive experience at my local AD. I dressed smart, shook the hand of the guy and proceeded to chat about my lifelong love of watches and that I've kept most of them over my 46 years. The guy actually admired my MTG G Shock which is a higher end model and said he wears one for leisure too. When it came to actually viewing some pieces, I pulled out a pair of disposable rubber gloves that I'd brought with me which I think was a nice touch. He said it would likely be up to two years wait for the James Cameron but they like to cater to the local market first and I live no more than a ten minute walk from my local AD. He took my contact details and added my name to the database and didn't even ask what I did for a living which I was expecting. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

There I no longer a scarcity, I put my name down for a Rolex 4 weeks ago and I got a call a couple of days ago for the sea dweller 18k gold 126603, I collect it on Friday
You got extremely lucky. No one else is able to get one that easily
@@pete6705 I think it depends where you live mate, I just spoke with another local AD and they have confirmed to me they are now NOT going to be buying 2nd hand watches due to the market decline and they had two watches for sale in the window that you could buy as no one from their list wanted it, the market has taken a massive hit and it’s going to start showing very soon, even the Instagram guys we all follow do all sorts of deals of the day or reduce the prices and the reason being they are NOT selling.
Damn, I just am self employed and I don’t wear suits, I guess I’ll have to go to secondary market. That’s crazy, I could buy the thing cash, I always assumed cash is king but damn that’s a lot of hoops to jump through
Listen that’s one way of looking at it, another is that you are a CEO, and as such you don’t need to wear suits to work, but you can buy them and wear them whenever you want.
@@HotCornerPula you make a point but to buy a suit specifically to go buy a watch for me just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense plus the time it will take to convince the dealer to sell to me would probably take a while, longer than I probably would be wanting to wait, it just seems like a lot of hoops to jump through
Just dress nice and be personable that’s what I did got my first Rolex in 2 months. Now waiting for my second one. It takes a year for them to make one their made by hand and the demand is high so once your on the list just be patient it’s worth it😊
@@HotCornerPula You have no idea what a CEO is. There must be a C-suite level of the company to be the "Chief".
@@carollutton3340 Seems the marketing fooled you bud. The shortage is artificial and they're mass produced products.
I put my name down for 2 Rolex at 2 different ADs. They both said I have a good chance of getting them within a year. But when I spoke to people on Reddit about it they said, no I’m never going to get anything from them. Pretty depressing. If I really don’t get anything in over a year I’ll just get replicas or move on to a different brand
My local AD is pretty professional and I don’t require a purchase history. I am also against flipping and high prices.
Wtf so they’ll let you try them on but you gotta get approved to own one 🤔😂
My roommate played this in his laptop and went out. I thought that these are some dating tips for a moment :(
I walked in to Rolex today with a trackie on and walked out with my oyster perpetual 😂🤷♂️
I am born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am Amhara. Coffee originated from Ethiopia.
Very interesting, but what has that got to do with purchasing a Rolex?
@@cliffwheeler7357coffee>>>Rolex
so basically it’s impossible to buy a Rolex
It certainly requires patience. Before the Pandemic and between 2015 to 2020 I purchased an Oyster Perpetual 39mm, a Yacht-Master 40 with the blue dial and a white gold, black dial Cellini Date, all from the same AD. The Yacht-Master was in stock (amazingly),and the OP39 and the Cellini both arrived within two weeks of placing my order. All of the current madness does appear to be linked to the pandemic.
If you have a credit card and a smart phone you can have any Rolex model you want in two days or less.
Great video, i usually wear workout attire, but i understand dressing up for a big purchase like this is similar to a home or buying a car, i graduate soon, and want to treat myself to a datejust so we will see if the tips work!
Did it work? If so, what was your experience like? Planning to get a Datejust 126334 some time after my wedding
@@tgchavi6012 still working on it! lol congrats!
This makes it sounds like Rolex owners are pretentious and superficial. Very off-putting. it also sounds discriminatory .
Only you would think discrimination. With that approach I wouldn't sell to you either.
@@Rgunt8905 It’s not discrimination when buying a Rollie it’s just plain old classist snobbery. You have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on other watches you don’t want from an AD before they will “allow” you to give them tens of thousands of dollars on a Rolex.
@@thetapheonix Yes correct.
I bought my first Sub from an AD no history in a hoodie and sweats…3 day wait. Clothes mean nothing. Be yourself.
until everyone's money is as acceptable as everyone else's money, Rolex to me is a dead brand. Once the experience is "I went in, picked out a watch, and paid for it" I'll be buying any other brand. There should be no "game"
@@fishheadbreakroom THIS RIGHT HERE. I'll buy homages all day long(Pagani Design, Invicta)before jumping through any of these hoops.
@@Stinkysniff1Haitian-American “black and proud” 🙂
Hahahahahahahahahaha😂😂😂
@@michelcampos7293 what’s funny? Do tell?
“Sir, there’s a wait for the James Cameron model”
“Who? I don’t watch basketball”
I appreciate all the time and effort you put to help beginners like le to buy their Rolex from the right place
These watches are incredibly beautiful
Keep up the good work
Bought my Daytona in 2012 , no wait list.
2012 was an entirely different era, of course you got one without waiting back then. Nothing new.
If you have to go through all this hoops to get a watch or any type of materialistic good (even if you have the money to do so) you have your priorities f*cked up!
Nice video I have a Rolex I’m also considering buying one for my brothers future wife they are awesome watches
If you have a trophy wife, bring her along and make sure the AD knows about your open relationship. 😍😜
😂😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Jesus Christ Loves You All So So Much! ❤️🙏
But we all hail jai shri ram
Jesus strikes me as more a Citizen kinda guy
My friend have a big rolex collection and purchased them in tshirts, shorts and sandals.
I think the dealers who buy and resell ruin the experience for regular people wanting a nice watch for themselves.
well that gave me a nice chortle 😄
sponsored by Rolex maybe? 🤔
not that I expect to ever want a Rolex, and it's not for lack of means, but should I ever find a deal I like it'll be on the secondary market.
I wouldn't wear a Rolex if Rolex sent me one for free!
On buying your first Rolex: The feeling you have going to the dealer is better than the feeling you have at home the next morning.
It’s a quality product with a classic style. It will likely last the rest of your life. But it’s just a watch.
Tried many times to buy a piece of metal worldwide
But denied cuz of my casual clothes
Then I realized materials have alternative options
I'm on a waitlist but stopped caring and have purchased a GS sbge275 which is actually hand finished and technically superior. If I get a call, great, but really not fretting either way. Nice vid.
well done, this is great idea, thanks a lot..?
Its all about energy. I get it
Wtf this is crazy. This is how Rolex can control the market. Make everyone think it is something so elusive you have to almost interview to get one.
*cough*cough* diamonds *cough*
Why buy a rolex when you can buy other brands like omega
Why buy a Rolex when you can buy a gun and get the Rolex for free? 😂
It's one of the most ridiculous things I watched on the Tube. LOL. The next advice will be to kiss something.
Can you pay cash at an AD?
They’re not a scarcity that’s not accurate.
Thank you
What is REALLY important is how much money you are willing to spent before purchasing one of the Rolex watches.
I rather buy a retail one for a better deal than go through all that!
I'd just tell the AD his address, I'd then say, sell me the watch or I'll come to your house
Rolex is King
Been on list for submariner for 2 years. I dress like a slob, sweatpants and t-shirt, visited Nashua, NH Authorized Dealer today and the guy was stalking about “building relationships” …. Guy, I just want to buy a watch. Total bs. All set!
in turkey they care about your family name or who you come with
Imagine getting dressed just to purchase A heavily marketed overhyped watch! What society we live in?!
If you are under 25-28 just let your dad or uncle go n buy one for you
you gave me all the reasons to be as far as i can from a rolex dealer knowing i could afford ANY thing there. Such decadency…
lol... this is not a job interview.
Why Rolex watches are so expensive?
Marketing
thank you r/watchescirclejerk
What a arrogant brand. When I'm rich enough.I'm buy 20-30 of those watches, break them right outside their store and leave them with their mouth open.
Let us know when that happens
That sounds more arrogant than them
Thank you for the video. Thanks to it, I no longer want a Rolex. ;-P
So basicly any AD watching this video now feel like people come to chat for a relationship just to get a rolex? 🤭🤔.. if i was an AD i would think twice ! Becourse then the relation to talk to “me” is only based upon a watch haha i guess if ur the type who needs freinds become a AD.
How about making a good impression with a Walmart shopping bag filled with tons of cash instead of dressing in a stuffed up suit?
So you have to literally beg these ADs to sell you their overpriced sundial. Rolex laughing because they totally flipped the script
this is so sad. Rolex manufactures over 1 million watches a year. They are currently building a facility that will double their production. There are a lot of Rolexes out there. Fortunately, the two Rolexes I currently own I bought before the supposed shortage occurred. I will admit I really love the Rolex explorer and wear it almost daily. I do have a submariner, but because of the demand and it’s obvious recognition I don’t wear it very often as I fear it getting stolen. I am thinking about getting a datejust but the combination I want is in high demand and and I’ll wait a while.
I am a polite person. When I go to a watch store to purchase I dress nice. however, I have no intention of going into a Rolex dealer, and practically given the guy a BJ just to get another Rolex. There are a lot of other nice watch brands out there.

I bought an Invicta Speedway. Now I have a nice watch and $39,920 left in my bank account.
You understand that some of these Rolex pieces are also great investments, right? Lol. Just making sure you know that. The worst thing you can do is leave you money in your checking account doing nothing besides devaluing as time goes by.

@@afvro75 You'd be better off investing money sitting around in Gold, silver and platinum or any other precious metals. Hell even investing in property would be a better option versus buying a wristwatch for "investment"
Rolex would have to sell me on buying one of their watches, why would i own one? It will not make me any money! in fact, as soon as i purchase a Rolex it loses half its value. they need to rethink their brand.
You have to show and prove somebody how serious you are about spending your own money? That’s like the worst business practice.
The trick is that it actually worked before the internet. Now anybody with a credit card can have ANY watch delivered into your sweaty hands within 72 hours
The age of the physical storefront and salesman is coming to an end. I’m surprised it’s still around now. I remember back in 2019 when my boss heard about the Batman on a Friday and was wearing it the next Monday.

Haha this is non sense. I’ve walked into my local Rolex store inside a mall in sweatpants 😂😂😂 complete non sense.
Get dressed up. Ha. I make more than the base Rolex costs in a month in my pajamas.
I guess I won't be buying Rolex from licensed dealer!
I would be embarrassed to wear it in public!
So the customer is doing a favor for the Dealer?
I'll PASS !
Now when I see someone wear a Rolex I know not to do business with them !
They are poor money managers!
Sad and revolting !
The fun part is... Each year they toss about one million watches out of the cnc machine. Not a single thing is special with a Rolex. Other brands really produce by hand. A fraction of the volume, like 20k watches per year. I like those way more...
