The rear seat space was the biggest sell for me vs model 3. Way more head and leg room and less cramped.
got myself a model y last month in the UK, handles the road really well and has great range. definitely the best electric SUV I've been in

I got one of the first UK model ys back in march, at the model y launch event. It was absolutely worth the cost, although one thing that I would probably change about the purchase is to not get the induction wheels, for one main reason. They protrude slightly outward from the tires, meaning they often scrape on the sidewalk.
However, probably still the best battery SUV by a massive margin

The reason why the Model Y had that sound when you reverse is so other cars can hear you reversing since the car is electric
other cars like the 2021 toyota rav4 hybrid also has that sound
all EVs are required to have some kind of sound when reversing for safety reasons
The NHTSA has said that all electric cars have to have it

That looks so hilarious and creepy at the same time!!
Come on Jack, get the order in. Had mine for the last two weeks and it’s just so much more practical and we have a 3 still and you can’t really tell the difference in performance. Let’s also be honest, 16 miles difference on range is neither here nor there 🤷♂️

Had mine since 19th Feb (Southampton :D ) - Absolutely friggen loving it! Already driven 2,500 miles, including a trip to Cornwall and another to Norfolk :D
You forgot to climb into the rear boot underfloor compartment - I can not believe how massive and useful that space is! If you want real seclusion, thats where you can bundle your bodies :P
Also 2nd rear underfloor compartment has room for basically all cables and emergency gear + still plenty of room - crazy.
Such an efficient car :D

You do say its more expensive which you are correct, I'm currently going through ordering a model Y and trading in a 2020 model 3, The current secondhand market is crazy, tesla offered £46,400 which is £100 less than what I paid in 2020 and the car has 20k miles and I had a years free super charging, Outstanding finance makes me 12k in the green.
Is you M3 a Sr+ or LR?

I got my Model Y on the 11th of March and it is really awesome. My first EV and quite a different experience to my Audi TTRS. I have driven the Model 3 and it was the plan to get one but even though the range is slightly less and it isn't quite a quick (it does weight more though), the Model Y felt by far the better car.

The wood or white trim(depending on what colour interior you choose) is also on the latest Tesla Model 3. The cool sound effect is on all electric vehicles now as a safety sound to warn pedestrians as you said, so the new Model 3 would have it. The boot closing is louder probably because in the Model Y, there is no partition between the passenger area and the boot. Also the Model 3 Long Range has 360 miles of range WLTP (580km WLTP)

8:15 The loud boot sound may be because the boot is directly connected to the car. Your 3 has that board separating the boot from the cabin, whereas the Y doesn't

Also the wood in the Model Y is what the newer Chinese built Model 3s have (the ones with the heated steering)
My model 3 has the reverse sound, along with a heated steering wheel :) I guess both were options added after you purchased your model 3.

The reverse sound is the same thing in the US. Ive heard that sound on a model 3 as well.
Its a great deal to upgrade your steering wheel to a yoke steering wheel. Yoke steering wheel with full functioning multifunctional wheel button. Simply swap your factory steering wheel with Yoke style steering wheel to differentiate your car from the rest.

The reverse sound is also in the newer Tesla Model 3 as my dads got that sound in his car

Didn't even look at the Y under trunk storage! The back is so big on the Y that I use the under trunk space for my groceries so that they won't fly all over the place.

Never had any teslas, but that Model Y looks very cool and nice! About those rims that gives less range, I think thats actually the version for the sporty one (I think) or either its just sport rims.

The model y actually has more range if you switch to the gemini wheels. It has 330 miles.
I'm seeing 331 with the induction wheels and 351 with the Gemini wheels on the Tesla website.

The model 3 has that reversing sound too ! You just need the model 3 that has the external speaker. If yours doesn’t make the sound then it probably doesn’t have the speaker.
