    Hi there, Happy Thursday morning. Thank you for this great lesson on how to create a shoulder dart.
    Out of all the lessons I have watched on dart manipulation, this was the first time I witnessed on of
    my TH-cam Teachers go the extra step, and redraft the new pattern on a 90 degree right angle!!!!
    This makes all the difference for me, because now it makes sense on how to eliminate the bust dart!
    Thanks again.

      @@SeamsNotches I am drafting a pattern for a all-in-one stand up collar. So far I have noticed that this design of collar is normally installed on blouses with a shoulder and waist dart.
      So cool--- master taylor transferred the shoulder dart to the waist before drafting the collar, then transferred it back to the neck. Sometimes I am just in awe. Right angle Pattern making rocks!
      Again, thank you for going the extra step!

    Very good, clear instructions. I like this. My question is: Why do we need to move a dart? I’m new to garment construction and I’m still working on understanding these nuances.

      Thank you so much for your question, Moving darts in a bodice block can depend on the style you are after, there are styles that don’t require shoulder darts and in that case you move them somewhere else. When it comes to pattern cutting it is of high importance to learn the art of darts manipulation as it will help you create several styles when it comes to female garments. I hope this helps we are always here to help🙂

    I have a question. Do we have to move the darts a certain distance away from bust point or we can straight away make our outfit with this pattern? If we need to move it a distance, what should it be?

    • @SeamsNotches
      @SeamsNotches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you don’t have to, you can make your outfit straight away.
