Matt your videos are really informative. You are definitely a natural horse man! Your horses are so beautiful and you obviously take exceptional care of them. God Bless you and your amazing horses 🙏
When I moved to where I currently live 13 years ago, there was a horse we would drive by on the way to my aunt's house. That horse was black when we first saw it. Over the years, it slowly got lighter and lighter as it got older. Now, that horse is snow white when it isn't pink with red dirt it likes to roll in. Those people only have that horse and a donkey. Some gray horses get lighter every year, some get lighter and darker, and some stay the same. I've had two start out black and turn almost white in at around 10 years of age. It can take a while for the change to finish.
They are the best but like Matt said they have problems with cancer also....alot of my greys have gotten cancer even if they were inside... but great horses and I find that their pretty fast horses

This horse is a lovely mover!! I have watched several video's of your search for a Stallion and watched the horses you tried out under saddle and none of them were as nice as this horse!! I am just an everyday person who has NO professional riding experience at all or shows etc. I live in a small town of Alaska and all my horses were just grade horses and the only riding I am interested in is trail riding. But I greatly admire quality animals in horses and dogs and being a show dog owner for many years.. I know a good animal when I see one. I was excited and thrilled to see this horse move! oh my goodness.. he floated in the rear and the effortless propulsion of his gait was so beautiful to watch!! Congrats on a great purchase!
He is literally every equestrian when buying a horse...every person I know has said no to a certain colour horse and then ends up buying that colour horse. I said no to chestnuts and what do I have, nothing but chestnuts

Wow, Emporio looks like a really promising young horse, his character seems amazing! Also, i love the way you treat this, wanting a vet check to make sure he is fit for your purpose, i feel like not many people think about that anymore, they just want any horse to work like they want it to...
I get what you mean but at the same time when buying a very cheap horse then a vet check might actually be more expensive. However what i have seen from some sellers is that they pay for the check there are any problems 😊
@@LadyPinkie13 But i'd never buy a horse without a vet check. when the horse is cheap and you don't do the vet check and you got bad luck, you might put all the money that you saved on the vet check into the horses medical bills and maybe even twice or ten times the amount the check wouldve costed... i don't know about that, i haven't ever bought a horse yet, but that sounds great :)
I bought my neighbor's two horses two days before christmas. Played almost nothing because they wanted them gone. I didn't bother with a vet check because I've known the older mare for years and the 18 month old since she was a foal. The two of them haven't shown any signs of anything bad. The baby wasn't even halter broke when I got them and the mare hadn't been ridden in 6 years, so they are 2 of my three projects. The third is an aqha Palomino filly. She came to me in Christmas day. Halter broke, but terrified of people. Barely 13 hands, foundation bred, now a 3 year old. She scrawny, but has shocking chest muscles for how inserted she was. The person I got her from had only had her for a few weeks. She was the same as wild, so we didn't want to stress her more with a vet check. She looks and acts perfectly sound, but is super skittish. She is thankfully warming up to me. My point is that some situations make a vet check hard or unnecessary. I knew the neighbor's horses and the little palomino was feral. I would get a vet check if buying a well handled horse from a stranger, but these three were cases were I could go without. If the Palomino doesn't ever make a riding horse, she has good breeding and I have a well bred aqha cremello stallion I could breed her to.
I really respect what you said about being mindful when it comes to his training, and not taking advantage - even unintentionally - of this horse’s willingness to give 110%. Also, it’s interesting that the horse you ended up with was outside your search parameters on all counts. Can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need. #therollingstones You two will make a good team.
Matt--I am so excited for you and the horse you purchased in this video. He is magnificent. He moves so well and looked like a fun horse to ride, especially for a young horse. I must say that I am beyond impressed with your way of thinking and your plan for training Emporio. Taking your time, not pushing him at such a young age I think is the best way of going. Your attitude is so refreshing and in the end you will have such a friendship and bond with him that will last his lifetime. So as a former rider and horse lover, myself, I say way to go buddy!!! I'm very proud of you!! You and Emporio will go a long way together!!
Matt, I am such a mum, on your first ride of Emporio I wanted to cry, just a glorious horse, you can already see a good team. I've been following on Instagram and it was so good to hear you talk through the process and emotions of choosing Emporio.
Wow! It's my dream to own a PRE!! Loved them since 2005 when I had dressage lessons on several Spanish stallions, they are a delight and such powerhouses! So glad youtube recommended this video, such fun! New sub here :)
A stunning horse. I think lots of gentle hacking out in the countryside- over uneven ground will help him gain confidence with his feet and simply lengthen across his neck and back.
He's lovely Matt. I bought an 8 year old Andalusian mare in Australia only two months ago. We are taking our time to get to know each other and build trust. I too fell in love with the breed after spending a week riding in Spain. See if you can get to the riding school in Jerez. It bought tears to my eyes seeing these beautiful creatures being fully present and enjoying the show as much as the audience.
Your a lovely young man who is sensible know what you want in life works hard and love your horses ,I love to follow you ,the videos are great ,how about seeing Chase again also emporio is beautiful
He looks amazing, good luck with him! As a tip I would recommend letting your vet in the Netherlands look at the report including the X-rays though, if you have all the flexions on video them too, just to be sure.
Wonderful! I would like to see you live out your dreams. It can be hard to live up to what you say and I hope you are able to keep it up. Horses are so much part a part of the heart. Live big and stay big! Bob.
Wow, he is a gorgeous horse!! All the luck and a huge congratulations on the new member of your family!! I am a firm believer in something that’s meant to be falling into place with absolutely no struggles or stress!! This was a perfect example! He was meant to be yours. I can’t wait to see him and Chase meet for the first time!!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey Matt, I also really liked the other horses you were considering but this guy is a beauty! I love your diligence and the thoroughness that brought you here to finding the right fit. I hope to see more of what you guys can do together. Many blessings to you both.
I would love just simple training videos of you riding Emporio, really love just watching you ride dressage and you don’t really have any videos like that out. Same even with Chase! Best wishes x
Congrats! He's beautiful! Definitely much better behaved than my stallion. Mine is a 16 Cremello quarter horse. Really quiet, but just wants to walk. Yours looks like he enjoys working. Hope he does well for you! I understand the concern for cancer with a gray. I have a tb in her early teens that has tumors in both sides of her neck. She isn't broke and basically lives a happy life getting fed and petted in the pasture. I also had a gray th tb that lived to 25 and never got one, so it could go either way. Shelley didn't get here until she was around 9. However it goes, it looks like you'll have an awesome partner for years to come. I love the dapples on him. Hope he turns out how you want him to.
I kinda think he’s really young. Three years is when I start saddle training but he’s already trained very well. Not calling abuse or anything! Just saying I think the horse is a little to young to be ridden like that, but hey. Every horse is different.
Alanna McCarthy I don’t think this level of training is unrealistic for a year. He only did W/T/C and wasn’t really bending, was a bit behind the vertical. Just very desensitized I think.
I thought he was four. My apologies. Definitely would have wanted to know all of his history and when exactly they started breaking him. I also wouldn’t have had a local vet do a vet check. They could be biased.
@@kenzieshelley4172 Well, I think he wasn't just a bit behind the vertical. I was for sure behind the vertical. And that is for me a no go... He is a beautiful horse with wonderful movements there is no room for talking. But for me a four year old horse hasn't already to be ridden.
SemUchiha95 I was trying to be generous. I think he was only behind the vertical because of Matt possibly being heavy handed having not been on him before. Though I would be worried about him having a curling issue. I wouldn’t purchase something that young myself, but that’s just me.
@@kenzieshelley4172 I also thought that Matt probably was worried a little the first time. Because the second time it was already a lot better. But when the other guy first got on, I already cringed... But I know that it's pretty common in the Spanish tradition... sadly...
It sounds like he has the character a andalusian should have. Calm, workable and intelligent. He also has very active rear legs wich can be a struggle for a lot of andalusians. It is a beautiful horse and you rode him real Nice and calm. Good luck with him and enjoy this new 'project'
It's been a year, and I'm so happy for you and Emporio - he's becoming your dream horse and he has a wonderful home, owner and a full and interesting life ! He is such a handsome and sweet boy . It looks like he gives you his all and he just keeps improving. Congratulations, for you both !
So nice to be able to backtrack and see Emporio's history. Love all the info Matt! It must feel so good to see from then to now how well he has worked out for you!
Wow, Matt, Congratulations!! Emporio is gorgeous, phenomenal movement and the temper, for a three year old Stallion is just amazing. You got so lucky with him. I can’t wait to see what you two accomplish!! ❤️
I love hearing how you're putting the horse first i.e. not pushing him and trying to keep that great mind in tact. Looking forward to seeing updates on him!
The X-Ray Conditions were terrible. Where was the X-Ray protective clothing? This is so important! The Vet should be more careful about that. I'm a Vet assistant and we would never work without our protecting clothes. But Emporio ist very beautiful🔥 😊✨
Drew Propps, yes regulations they followed, they x-rayed his legs, they blood tested, they tested his gait, what's so shady about it? They left nothing out about the horse and didn't hide anything either. I was just pointing out that not every area can get the best of vet care some might expect elsewhere.
It really depends on the horse, I think that the earliest they can be started, and normally are, is about three as the bones on most horses are okay for extremely light work at that point. I know people who have started light training then and had wonderful horses, but I totally see your point! :) Personally I'm helping my little rescue Arab gain his weight back before I start up riding training again, he's obviously had some training but he needs to be fully well before I consider more than sitting on him and letting him walk around, he's roughly five, don't know for sure as he's a little rescue from an auction!
@@a.jaydeb.7441 Emporio(?) is only three and should only be walking under saddle, not to mention how far behind vertical he is.. it really worries me honestly.
he's absolutely Gorgeous..... I think you picked a winner!!! I hope you form a lasting, loving relationship with him! He deserves someone to help him become the best Stallion!!

Bob.
Whats having money like?
Right? All I heard this entire video was “$$$$$$” lol
@@coastalcoyote I hope everything goes well. Praying for you and your pup, best wishes 💜
Lisabet ramsey okay and? It’s not like he hasn’t worked for it.

Wow, he is a gorgeous horse!! All the luck and a huge congratulations on the new member of your family!! I am a firm believer in something that’s meant to be falling into place with absolutely no struggles or stress!! This was a perfect example! He was meant to be yours. I can’t wait to see him and Chase meet for the first time!!
matt rides him so much better than the other rider. His head set looked so much more natural in the second ride
The respect you have for your horse is amazing!
It’s funny...he was looking for a show jumper and end up buying a PRE...😂😂😂😂😂
Ana González Verdeja 😂
I mean with some training Chase would be amazing at jumping.
Rhiannon Huscha yeah, of course. But it still being funny 😂🤷🏻♀️
Yes. I don't understand that at all. But maybe he will jump a little bit. He is beautifull ❤️ for dressage
Me and my sister were looking for a good jumper and we ended up with a 1 week off the track thorough bead horse
But I know that it's pretty common in the Spanish tradition... sadly...
I'm so happy for you and your new horse. How exciting! Looking forward to getting to know him. Enjoy your videos very much. Jesse too!!!
😍😍😍😍😭😭😭😭 I'm so jealous!!! He is so gorgeous and a beautiful mover!! You're so lucky!
So nice to be able to backtrack and see Emporio's history. Love all the info Matt! It must feel so good to see from then to now how well he has worked out for you!
He's so gorgeous! You really seem to get the best horses!!!
Wow, Matt, Congratulations!! Emporio is gorgeous, phenomenal movement and the temper, for a three year old Stallion is just amazing. You got so lucky with him. I can’t wait to see what you two accomplish!! ❤️
Greys are my favorite since I was a kid. Three of my best horses where grey.
But Emporio ist very beautiful🔥 😊✨
callme blondra that’s what I was thinking too
As a professional in the equestrian world, everything about this situation is sketchy as hell.
But what do we know of the availability of such supplies?
A lot of countries don’t have access to the best of vet supplies.
Demonicsnow H. Spain has OSHA. Where you have OSHA, you have regulations. Protection is very basic.
Drew Propps, yes regulations they followed, they x-rayed his legs, they blood tested, they tested his gait, what's so shady about it? They left nothing out about the horse and didn't hide anything either. I was just pointing out that not every area can get the best of vet care some might expect elsewhere.
HE-IS-A-DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!! Such an amazing horse! I was so excited for you. Hugs and all the best for you from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Liebe deine Videos du bist so inspirierend.

Emporio is so beautiful! He has such great movement and flexibility for such a young horse. So excited to see the places you two go!
what a beautiful horse, but i wish horses would start getting trained a bit later because of the bones
I started the training with my friesian and she was 6 . Now she is 10.
@@EquineLiberties that's amazing 😍
@@NightshadeGoddess I started very calm. This is very importend
Wow.... he’s gorgeous
Looks like the stallion I breed my mare with. Very charming!!
Really lovely looking young horse. Every video the horse looked better and better. You have really nice plan for young horse like this.

His movements are soooooo beautiful 😍😍😍😍
This horse's movements, my gosh, they are so magical! He just looks perfect
Isn't he a bit young to be already trained like this? Pre are late developed if I'm not mistaking.
1982mizzimuzzi he is late in his 4 almost 5. Vet cleared him so it is ok.
For his breed its normal they get trained pretty young. I trained at a stable in spain and they explained that this is normal for pre
@@lynnbelkom6502 doesn't mean it's the right or healthy thing to do. Spanish riders are not well known for their care for the horses well-being (there are exceptions)! There are no excuses for riding a horse younger then 5.
What an absolutely gorgeous Stallion! He moves beautifully & he so calm & well behaved. You made a great choice.
Omg he‘s beautiful :3 He’s really a dream horse \o.o/ Grüße aus Deutschland
What a beautiful horse, you are truly blessed, not just to be able to afford such a magnificent horse , but all the flying around to meet him, to get a trainer...I hope you never loose sight of how lucky you are to have all these opportunities in front of you...you sound like a good guy who loves horses, which is the best way in the world to spend money :) best wishes on your journey with your new stallion.
