Went with a girl (friend) to Dublin she was an exchange student so i went with her for a week. Anyway I was a young Punk never payed for my drinks either for shelter or food Irish people are so welcome and happy people specially when they learned we were from Greece This was back at 2000 thank you Ireland

Lookit now, I take some issue with the arguing over one "best" rendition (do you ever hear musicians talking about a song that way? Nah.) The astonished comments below point to the fact that these crazed German Irishfolk, by putting some real fight into The Boxer, have hit upon something crucial, and that's why some of us -- doesn't have to be *all* of us -- are excited to hear it. What this bizarre band give us takes nothing from the original nor the other fine covers (e.g. Jerry Douglas brings us something important with his dobro, and Emmylou Harris with her voice; these two are my favourites, but the point is it's a well-covered song.) Now everybody who hasn't already left the pub, buy each other a drink. The first day you hear this version of The Boxer, it's got to be some kind of holiday.

Having said that: it’s just before sunrise, Nov. 24th 2023, I am from ISRAEL, these past two months have been a shitshow, I was looking for a cover of this song, this one was the first one to pop up. Now I am crippled, broken back and all, but this version had me banging my Cajon, hoping and dancing and singing. Had me a small wake up party.
