Is it true on FM3 it's not possible to make dual amp path chain (1st amp L100% 2nd amp R100%)??? To get nice stereo blend amp sound. I'm taking about parallel path not any emulation alternatives. Is it only possible on FM9?

Metallica Def Lep and Journey don't use Line 6. in fact no major artists does. I own and use an HX FX with my real amps but for full on live modelling rig it's FM3 100%
Just updated my fm9 turbo w/firmware 7 last night. It’s pretty amazing how far they’ve come. I remember always having to have some chorus on to give the tone some “movement”…..it seems like they are getting so close that I don’t need all the effects as often as I used to. Simply more tube-like. Brit 800 specifically. Technology is really getting closer. Great time to be a guitar player..

Was reviewing the release notes and seems they’ve remastered amp sound/tone : ● Nearly all amps have been “remastered” using new measurement techniques and analytical methods.
Gapless is a gamechanger. No longer being dependent on scenes is a massive quality of life improvement. Now makes the FM3 competitive with the larger floorboards of competitors for live use.
I absolutely love that hyper-vibrato. It’s a sound I’ve always heard in my head and created in the past with a lot of effort. Great to hear how effectively the FM3 creates it.
Dang. Freaking game changer! I didn't think that I needed gapless switching - but offloading a "kitchen sink" preset into multiple presets is a great idea...gonna change my workflow. Great info and playing as always. And I loved the DBZ references.

Idk how you're getting phenomenal tone with such a basic signal chain but I'm impressed. My signal chains are complex to just get a decent high gain tone for Deathcore/Melodic Deathmetal
Just a thought. . . This is a fine demonstration of the huge variety of distortion-based sounds. For those guitarists who are more into cleaner, lusher, or more ambient sounds, it would be nice to hear what the FM3 can do in that realm. Maybe consider making a video showing this other side of its capabilities?
Updated my FM3 a couple of weeks ago all fine this is my third fractal product they have all been great. They can take a bit of getting used to but l have tried all the rest helix the fractal gear just seem to suit me.All of there products have had a game changing moment a really nice surprise so thanks Cliff much appreciated.😊👍

Took my first steps down the Fractal rabbit hole. Got a deal on an Ultra. So far it’s going pretty good. Definitely a bit of a learning curve. I can see the latest/greatest version in my future. Thanks for the knowledge you share.
So I upgraded from a PODGO to the FM3 about month ago. Wondering why I waited so long to join the Fractal world. I just downloaded these 3 presets. Absolutely fantastic!! So usable just as they are. Very sure I will using some of these for my base presets. Your videos have been very helpful for getting to know my FM3. Much thanks!!!
How do you find it compared to the Pod Go. I have the Pod Go and can't decide on the Quad Cortex or the FM3. I'm a bedroom guitarist only so the FM3 will be hooked up to a Computer 99% of the time going through a pair of Headrush 108's. Are the sounds of the amps models really that much more impressive? Thanks in advance.
I was looking around the modellers market, tried almost all available ones. last Tone Master Pro, sent them back, been stopped by your videos. listened to them, did some research on Fractal, ordered the FM3, was flabbergasted by the service of that company and now, I will keep that machine, decision made and your are one of the main reasons I did that.. The downside is I have to dig deep into that thing, which makes me a bit nervous because of the shear endless possibilities. I say thanks a million

This video was not useful to me. I only play 24 hour sets and I need a different sound for each song. But this is still the best guitar channel on TH-cam.
I find it admirable how you conjure up these great sounds from this thing. I always have to turn the bass all the way down and the treble and presence all the way up and it still sounds a bit muffled.
IM LOVING THIS UPDATE SO MUCH!! FINALLY GAPLESS SWITCHING!! and the amp models sound so much better. Have you noticed the reverbs sound so much more prevalent after the change? I found myself turn them down a bit.

I have been using your tone pack that is free. It is a nice template. I have also been messing around with having dual instruments. Like a condenser mic in through a pitch block with 4 voices sounds really nice when tuned in octaves. I added a drive pedal and it made a doom voice which made me think how I could use that. Then your guitar stuff is dope! Wish you had more libraries for things. I found this pack of metal libraries (I think the things that save the setting of a block is a library) and I don't have to double check my own talent. It is nice to click compressor then have the choice of settings there already. Also, has anyone on the axe fx iii gotten a bug with a compressor where it basically gets stuck in the curve or edge? I had an issue where I'd play then it wouldn't stop going up and down a little on the edge.
If you made a video and tab pdf or something of just a bunch of neat little lick ideas like the little shreddy stuff you do all the time, I'd buy it quicker than you could say, "I bet this would get me out of this rut"!

I just wish they were more receptive to customer feedback and continuously improving their products, instead of releasing them, having one or two firmware updates that are only minor bugfixes, and then abandoning them until they release something new. I think they often leave a lot of untapped potential on the table.
So… with this new update how does the “regular” FM3 compare now with the Mark II Turbo and the 11% more processing power the turbo has? Get the FM3 and forget the Turbo with this update?
Ive been trying to incorporate the FM3 as an effects only thing to compliment the gain I already have in my pedal board, but then ran it straight into the effects loop returns of my tube amps and man... it sounds epic. So hard to let my pedal board go but may have to. Cant deny the tone I get running into tube amp effects returns. Crazy. And im doing this into a VH4 people!! lol guess Ill be getting another fryette power station so I can run stereo and done.
Man! I live in nashville and the Nobels odr-1 is a staple on every pedal board in town, so so damn glad they added that, do you know when the official firmware 8 will release?

From what's been posted on the forum the new plates and springs apparently are CPU hogs. Not sure if we'll see them in the future but never say never with Fractal.
Thank you for the video. If I update the Fractal FX3 firmware and then import backed-up presets, will they work properly? I bought some presets recently and imported them smoothly, but nothing appeared on the grid. It seems these presets were exported from an older Fractal FX3 firmware version.
interested in getting this but how do you guys get around the fact it only has 3 buttons. I want to change between different guitar songs during songs and turn different effects on and off? Does it support any external connections for extra buttons and pedals?
It supports tap and hold functions per switch and you can use multiple foot switch "layouts". You can also expand it with the fractal FC pedals, Midi or external footswitches

I can never get the "perceived volume" of separate patches as close as you seem to effortlessly do. What's the secret??? Have you got a brickwall set up at the outputs??
It's taken me a while - using the preset levelling tool is handy to get in the ballpark and then I test perceived volume by doing palm muted power chords and switching back and forth, then doing the same with gentle to hard strummed open chords.
Is it true that you need to reset all your amp and fx blocks once the new firmware? seems like a lot of work to take advantage of the new firmware...i may be wrong

Hey Leon, killer playing my brotha. Quick question.. I’m thinking of grabbing an FM3, on a bit of a Lukather, Huff kick. Do you reckon the 3 has enough juice to cop the necessary effects blocks?
Just slapped together a patch that goes comp - amp - cab - tri chorus - dual detune - dual delay - circular delay - reverb and the patch is at 62% CPU. Add a drive and rotary for extra landau energy and it's at 73% on the FM3 turbo!
OMG this release made me so happy. Was starting to feel left out as an FM3 user and lover lol. I have never added a beta before.....Im too afraid to do it. I will probably wait for the actual release. Thanks Fractal and thanks Leon
À Little maybe out of topic question. Comparing to the fractal, what do you think about the atomic amplifire 3 in term of sound quality ? Do you think it could be the best option for my budget (i found one for 180€ used) ? I am afraid for it to be obsolete and outdated...but it still seems to sound very good. All the units sound great but the FM9 is the one I suggest for people who are unsure of which one to get. Plenty of power, plenty of switches!

I just wish they were more receptive to customer feedback and continuously improving their products, instead of releasing them, having one or two firmware updates that are only minor bugfixes, and then abandoning them until they release something new. I think they often leave a lot of untapped potential on the table.

So… with this new update how does the “regular” FM3 compare now with the Mark II Turbo and the 11% more processing power the turbo has? Get the FM3 and forget the Turbo with this update?
Ive been trying to incorporate the FM3 as an effects only thing to compliment the gain I already have in my pedal board, but then ran it straight into the effects loop returns of my tube amps and man... it sounds epic. So hard to let my pedal board go but may have to. Cant deny the tone I get running into tube amp effects returns. Crazy. And im doing this into a VH4 people!! lol guess Ill be getting another fryette power station so I can run stereo and done.

have been searching around for something smaller than my AF3/FC12 to gig with.. nothing really compares to FAS products.. now with this update the FM3 is at the top of my list.. I'm wondering if the new update for FM3 includes Kill Dry?
There's a "new amp" listing on this Firmware for the JP-2C+. Didn't we already have that? Have they redone the model or something? I've been looking around Google and not found any information on this.
Yeah there's been a JP2C for a while, I believe they updated it with a few fixes

Leon...is there a video, article etc that compares the FM3 to the Axe Fx III. FOR Example what the FM3 won't do. I have a Axe Fx III but considering a small FM 3 for gigs etc. Thanks as always and keep up the great work!😊

I updated my fm9 and updated the presets. I haven’t moved on from the vibrolux preset yet after 2 hours

would you do a tutorial for us fm9 and fm3 users on the set up and how to do a tone match ( eq match) using a plugin? like fab filter etc... your videos are so well done.. and your tutorials are fantastic.. and i constantly see on the fractal forums ppl asking how to tone match on the fm models.. would be awesome if you could...

@LeonTodd, thanks for the video as always!! Question: Please don’t mistake this for ingratitude, but do you know if there is plans to add the new gold plate and spring reverbs? Maybe on the second beta or in a later update? Or do you happen to know if the FM3 is just not capable of running these…
From what's been posted on the forum the new plates and springs apparently are CPU hogs. Not sure if we'll see them in the future but never say never with Fractal.

Thank you for the video. If I update the Fractal FX3 firmware and then import backed-up presets, will they work properly? I bought some presets recently and imported them smoothly, but nothing appeared on the grid. It seems these presets were exported from an older Fractal FX3 firmware version.
interested in getting this but how do you guys get around the fact it only has 3 buttons. I want to change between different guitar songs during songs and turn different effects on and off? Does it support any external connections for extra buttons and pedals?
It supports tap and hold functions per switch and you can use multiple foot switch "layouts". You can also expand it with the fractal FC pedals, Midi or external footswitches

I can never get the "perceived volume" of separate patches as close as you seem to effortlessly do. What's the secret??? Have you got a brickwall set up at the outputs??
It's taken me a while - using the preset levelling tool is handy to get in the ballpark and then I test perceived volume by doing palm muted power chords and switching back and forth, then doing the same with gentle to hard strummed open chords.
That trick you showed in the Axe Fx3 video to automatically trigger delay/chorus. Is that possible on the FM9 and FM3 as well?

@@KevinSolano Yes for real. We only have one retailer selling FM3's in Australia....and they overcharge for it, whereas the TMP is always on sale here..well below MSRP.

Hey Leon, killer playing my brotha. Quick question.. I’m thinking of grabbing an FM3, on a bit of a Lukather, Huff kick. Do you reckon the 3 has enough juice to cop the necessary effects blocks?
Just slapped together a patch that goes comp - amp - cab - tri chorus - dual detune - dual delay - circular delay - reverb and the patch is at 62% CPU.
Add a drive and rotary for extra landau energy and it's at 73% on the FM3 turbo!

Comparing to the fractal, what do you think about the atomic amplifire 3 in term of sound quality ? Do you think it could be the best option for my budget (i found one for 180€ used) ? I am afraid for it to be obsolete and outdated...but it still seems to sound very good. Does it hold against the new generation ?
It's decent with some external IR's (like my free ones :p ). For that price it's solid!
