'My home too': For Russians in Ukraine, the motherland is now the enemy • FRANCE 24 English

  • Before the start of the war, thousands of Russian nationals lived in Ukraine, many of whom now find themselves torn between their country of origin and the place they have come to call home. Some, like 40-year-old Andrey Sidorkine who has lived in Kyiv for 15 years, say they are willing to take up arms against invading Russian forces to protect their adopted country.

Hello from the US... absolutely- there is a difference between the true wishes of the people and the wishes/ ambitions of those in power who are willing to go to extreme measures to manipulate the general populous to their goals.... this is true in every nation to a large or smaller degree... don't give up your humanity by taking all "official" pronouncements and policies immediately to heart... listen but do your own fact checking before committing to a policy that can soak your hands in blood against your friends and neighbors....we all deserve better than to be manipulated and sacrificed for the ambition of the tyrannical few.

I hope that the dictatorship in Russia will fall. People deserves human rights, justice, freedom but of course they must respect the law. Without order there is a chaos but too much of everything do more harm than benefit. Too much of dictatorship but also too much of freedom is not good. It is important to have strong laws which applies to everyone to ensure the balance.

The fact that he understands the situation why he isn’t allowed to join the Ukrainian defense forces. Volunteering to make Molotov cocktails is just as important in the defense of Ukraine. Once they were in range of the targets, dig a hole to bury the launch assembly, then fire the missiles and bury the launchers and all other gear except the civilian clothes they would wear afterwards.

Draw a better inclusion plan for Russian speaking Ukrainians. 3. Remain a neutral country(non-alignment). Withdraw your NATO membership application. Why? NATO will benefit from you more than you do from them. You can maintain friendship with Western countries, but not joining NATO. Finally peace will reign. People will return to rebuild their lives.

It is a mistake for NATO not to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine. Not doing so is the safer course to take, but it is also the course that will loosen the bonds that hold Europe together. When NATO stands idle while neighboring cities are bombed to oblivion other countries start to wonder if they too would be left on their own at a time of need. This unease should evaporate when NATO asserts itself.
