I remember being a loner and skateboarding with just like 1 or 2 homies and getting kicked outta every spot. And climbing the fence at my local to skate after hours when it's much cooler outside.

Get a poser board, mall grab it, go to a skatepark, don't use your board at all, and just walk around. And maybe wear a poser shirt as well.

I had a friend who pushed mongo and he was pretty decent. He could frnt and bk kick, heal, Pop shovit, varial kf, 360 fp and slide n grind like the rest of us. In fact he was one of the better skaters in the bunch.

Some skaters push mongo because they had an injury and they've had to adapt and somehow mongo just works for them.

i’ve been watching y’all’s videos forever just for the energy and how fun y’all are. i skated on and off for years trying to learn how to do tricks. and let me tell ya i just don’t think i was coordinated enough. in this past year i have never wanted to learn how to actually skate and do tricks, than i do right now. i always skated to just skate not to do tricks i was always scared. recently i’ve been getting back on boards and i don’t have that fear like i used to. i truly hope i can get to the point we’re i’m doing/ trying a few tricks. i love y’all’s videos fr, just an amazing group of people with amazing energy
I only skate flat due to breaking my ankle clean in half when I were younger and as a 35 year old I can't do half of the stuff i used to, especially with arthritis in my ankle. Breaking my ankle and having plates put in was the hardest thing I went through because I was actually getting really decent at skateboarding and that happened.
I'm 36 and have multiple breaks and even nerve endings missing. It's about the physical therapy you put in that spot and rebuilding the area and adapting. Don't cut yourself short.
@@MrJayOkane i still skate just not as aggressive as I used to. I mean I broke it heel-flipping off of a 10 foot drop and my board snapped and my ankle went with it. I was told by the doctor if i broke it again because of the plates, they won't be able to salvage it and I'll be in a wheelchair, so i have to be careful.
@@abrimfulofasha yeah man, keep it low impact as possible from now on haha. Risk/reward ratio is a little sketchy with those plates in there

@@abrimfulofasha I recommend learning some freestyle tricks. No flying down sets or rails, strictly flat ground and you can learn some challenging tricks
zumiez is actually pretty sick. can always find rad gear thats never really overpriced compared to most skate shops. its ridiculous what some shops are charging now.

I live in Puerto Rico and the skateshops are limited, I bougth the parts to my board at vans , and it works fine
There are like 3 vans and 4 zumiez in the entire island and sells cool boards

I'm a huge long time fan of your channel. I was always motivated by your videos to try skateboarding over and over again but It never really went well and i kept losing motivation fast.
I happened to gain a friend over the past years that used to be a skater and some random moment i got motivated by you guys yet again and this time instead of brushing it off i went to that friend and told him that I wanted to build a real board and give skating yet another chance. We figured our boards out and now after a month i can do a shove it. I never was able to do anything and now i can shove it and ride and even have balance. I feel the connection a'd motivation again.
It wouldn't have ever been possible without the braille team old and new. Thank you guys so much

I love this channel it helped me get thru some very very dark times.. depression 💊💊 🍾🍾 so when I watch these vids now I kinda get a little emotional and it can also be hard to watch at times but that's was my fault. Just got a skateboard last week, just learning how to Ollie. Got a few decent ones today, I'm excited to keep learning and to get better. Waiting for the snow to melt so I can go outside to practice.

I stopped skating for maybe 10 years and decided to pick it back up about a year ago. first person that watched me skate called me a poser because i did a boneless. i couldn't remember being more confused with skateboarding than i was in that moment

My Braille skate board came in today I tested it out. And OMG I love it. I ollie and shove it surprisingly well

I also try my local skate shop. They have some pretty sick boards. I’ve been skating since I was five and I’m only 13 and I’ve learned a lot of things. Overtime I learned how to 50-50 grind kickflip Ollie almost the hard flip I’ve got in the tree flip which is my favorite so far. When I turned seven, I stopped skating for a couple years and then my dad got me back on it so now I’m addicted.

In my local skatepark, we've got posers telling other people they are posers, to try and hide that they are posers themselves.

Back in the day there was this one kid in the crew who could skate but would always say he did the craziest trick at all the spots we all skated so happens no one was ever there to see and when you asked him to do it again when the crew was around he always had an excuse why he couldn't re-do the trick.

Pretty much agree with everything but the flat ground haha I started skating in the 90s my go-to dude that I looked up to was Rodney mullen and I learn freestyle before anything haha there for probably a solid decade all I skated was free-style flat ground can't really be a poser if that's all ya want to do or know how to do is freestyle skate.. I remember the first time at a park. I got called a poser as my deck was square ( the nose and tail wernt rounded ) I had nose and tail pucks along with rails I also had grip on the bottom of the board In places for my shoe to grab for Caspers, dark side shovets etc etc and just the look of my board weirded people out

It’s the same for me. Riding only in regular and tricks only in goofy. Don’t know how to progress now.

Zumiez is like the only skate shop in my town, I wish there was a local skate shop but there isnt
This is why I gave up skating back in high-school way to many people judging you and bullying you just because you are just starting out and don't know many things. 15 years later and I still have the urge to want to learn.

I push mongo lol i ride regular but have to push with my left foot. it gets annoying when you have a short run up because it takes a second longer to set your feet right but ive always gotten by. I also hold pens weird too lol

I honestly really want to learn play skateboard but i have social anxiety and the skatepark is always full of people like most of them are grown ups men or boys so it’s hard for me to practice or i just go at night but like it’s hard to see cause it’s dark
YO GABE! I'm curious if you guys have tried any high end Lib Tech boards? I had one that was coated with some kind of non scratching surface. Felt like the whole deck was a deck rail. It lasted so long I just gave it away because I wanted to feel some birch against the rails lol. Might have been a limited edition :P
when my friend started skating at the park she thought that candle wax would work the same as skate wax. im not even kidding she brought an entire candle to the skate park and was surprised when it didnt work
